Use that included a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the small crew at the bottom of the handle. Open the battery compartment. Remove any plastic from the battery. Connect the battery to the connector. Reinstall the battery into the compartment. Close compartment. Screwthescrewback in.
-
Squeeze the trigger while aiming at some non-human object. (DON’T look into the end of where the laser comes out. It can harm your eyes.)
You should see this on the display:
When you hear the “beep” , the startup display should disappear, and you should see something like this: -
In this display, in the upper left,
“HOLD” means “DataHold”. When the trigger is released, the meter holds the real-time temperature display in the largest digits. The smaller digits below are the
Maximum/Minimum/Average/Different/High Alarm/LowAlarm temperature if you’re in those modes. -
“∈=0.95” means that the meter is set for an average type of object that “emits” radiant energy in an average way.If you know the “emissivity” of the object you wish to measure is different than 0.95 you can adjust this figure, see below for the full instructions.
The “ ” says the lasers are visible if you can see the on the display. If you
press the “ ” button when the meter is on you can toggle back and forth
between the laser being visible and not visible.
In the upper right corner of the display, it will either show ℉ for Fahrenheit
readings or ℃ for Centigradereadings. You can toggle back and forth by
pressing the/DN button in the lower right corner of the keyboard. (For some
reason the toggle button doesn’t work, the meters are probably NOT in the
correct mode. In this case, with the meter on, press the “Mode” button and
look at the display change. The T/DN button will not work if the meter is
in“REC”(record) mode. Put the meter into a different mode, such as “AVG” and
then push the T/DN button and you should see the change to a ℃ and back and
forth. The same for the “Light/UP” button, Press “Mode” to put the meter into
a different mode, such as “AVG” and then push the “Light/UP” button and you
should get the backlight That should be enough to get you started! Good luck!
