FUNCTIONS AND BUTTONS
Function specification
- When the hat is turned off hold down the play button for about five seconds until the indicator light starts flashing Red and Blue.
- On your phone or another device, open your settings and turn on your Bluetooth. Your Bluetooth should find ‘BEHeadwear’ for the device name. Sometimes you will have to click the Search or a Refresh option. Click Pair or click on the ‘BEHeadwear’ in your Bluetooth menu. YOU ARE NOW PAIRED and you can now choose your favorite media. Your hat will continuously flash a blue light every few seconds when it is paired to your phone.
- To change the volume press and hold down the + for VOLUME UP, and the – for VOLUME DOWN. You will hear a chime “beep” as the volume goes up and down letting you know that you are pushing the right button.
- To change tracks quickly press the + to move a TRACK FORWARD, and then – to a move TRACKBACK.
- Press the middle button for PLAY and PAUSE.
- To answer your phone when a call comes in press the middle play/pause button. If you do not hear your phone ringing or cannot answer with the click of a button, one of two things is happening. First look at your phone screen when you are getting a call and make sure you click on the Bluetooth speaker as the way to answer your phone. This should happen automatically but all phones are a little different. Once that is set, your phone will be a Bluetooth priority from then on. If that does not solve the problem look at your phone screen and check your hat’s battery life, it should display in the top right-hand corner. If the battery is too low or about to die it will not pick up calls.
- When the hat battery is about to die it will start a small chime in the headset letting you know it is very low. The chime will increase until the hat powers down. We recommend that you plug in your hat at the first sound of the chime.
- To charge the hat look at the bottom of the control panel patch and you will see the Mirco USB access port for the unit. Simply plug in your hat to your computer or cell phone wall charger. You can tell if your hat is charging because a red light will shine on your control patch. When the red light turns off the hat is fully charged, (2 hours is typical to charge time).
- The hat will go to sleep after three minutes of no use. It will automatically wake up if you get a call or you can simply tap the middle button and wait about 3 seconds and it will turn back on. The hat will stay paired to your device until you unpair it so there is no need to re-sync your hat every time you use it. Some phones, if they have been powered off, require the user to open the Bluetooth menu and select “BEHeadwear” under the paired devices.
- The headwear system is fully removable for washing your hat. Simply look at the back of your hat and on the inside, you will see a small hole big enough for one finger to fit in. Place your finger in the hole and locate a small black cord. Gently pull on the cord to remove your speaker system and control panel. Use your other hand to help slide your speaker and control panel to the back of the hat, towards the hole, and remove the system. PLEASE REMOVE YOUR HATS SPEAKER SYSTEM BEFORE WASHING.
