SEVERIN CP 3544 Citrus Fruit Juicer

Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

  • In order to avoid hazards, and to comply with safety requirements, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please contact our customer service department by phone or email (see appendix).

  • Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.

  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the main unit with liquids or immerse it.

  • Clean all detachable parts with hot water and a mild detergent.

  • For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.

  • Always remove the plug from the wall socket
    – before assembling or disassembling the appliance,
    – in case of any malfunction,
    – when there is no supervision,
    – after each cycle of use,
    – before cleaning the appliance.
    ∙ Warning! Any misuse can cause severe personal injury.
    ∙ This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as the
    – staff kitchens in shops, offices and other similar working environments,
    – agricultural working environments,
    – by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation,
    – in bed-and breakfast type environments.

  • This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.

  • Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age.

  • The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times.

  • The appliance may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.

  • Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance. ∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.

  • Before the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any faults or defects.
    Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

  • Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources.

  • When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord. Do not let the power cord hang free.

  • Do not use the appliance with any attachments other than those provided by the manufacturer.

  • No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

Before first use

  • Unpack the appliance and remove all packaging material and any advertising stickers from the appliance. The nameplate must not be removed.
  • Clean the appliance before using it for the first time ( see ‘Cleaning and care ’).

Assembling the appliance

  • Assemble the pulp sieve first:
    Place the upper piece of the sieve onto the lower piece. The pin on the lower piece must be inserted into the groove on the upper piece.
    Insert the assembly knob through the hole in the middle of the sieves. Ensure that the locking hooks on the sieve are in the small openings on the assembly knob! Turn the sieve over and place the assembly ring on the underside of the assembly knob. Lock in clockwise.

  • Fit the drive shaft to the main unit.

  • Place the juice container on the main unit over the drive shaft.

  • Place the assembled pulp sieve on the juice container.

  • Insert the small dome attachment into the pulp sieve

  • For large citrus fruits such as oranges, the large dome attachment can be inserted on top of the small dome attachment. Ensure that the recesses on the large dome attachment clasp over the wings of the small dome attachment.

Operation

  • Assemble the appliance as described above.
  • Place a suitable container under the spout. Push the spout down.
    Tip!
    The juice can also only be removed after the juicing process. To do this, fold the spout upward. During the juicing process, watch the amount of juice in the juice container and do not exceed the Max. mark.

  • Insert the power plug into a wall socket.
  • Halve the citrus fruit and press one half with the cut surface down onto the dome attachment.
  • Push the lever arm down.
  • Pressing down on the citrus press will switch it on and releasing pressure will switch it off again.
    Tip!
    The amount of pulp in the juice can be determined with the pulp regulator:
    = sieve open → higher pulp content = sieve closed → lower pulp content

  • When processing larger quantities of fruit, the pulp sieve must be emptied from time to time as necessary.
  • After use, fold the juice spout upward and switch off the appliance.
  • Disconnect the plug and clean the appliance.

Cleaning and care

  • Before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the wall socket.

  • To avoid any risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it in a liquid.

  • Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.

  • The main unit may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

  • The fruit holder can be released by pressing the black circle on the lever arm. After cleaning, insert the fruit holder back into the lever arm with firm pressure.

  • The pulp sieve can be taken apart for easier cleaning. To do this, loosen the assembly knob counterclockwise.
    After cleaning, reassemble the sieve as described under ‘Assembling the appliance’.

  • Clean the removable accessories in warm water with the addition of a typical dish detergent and dry them thoroughly.

  • The removable accessories can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.

Disposal

Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
