Foreword
Dear customer!
We are delighted that you have chosen to purchase this foot care dry
technology device. The BaehrTec A700 has technical features, which will help
to enhance your work.
The BaehrTec A700 is made from a variety of high-quality aluminium, stainless
steel and plastic parts, which are also used in sports car and aircraft
construction and therefore, guarantee ultimate stability and quality. The
microprocessor-controlled electronics also ensure maximum power and

currently in use is guaranteed to be child’s play (however, this is no
substitute for the operator checking that the maximum speed for the instrument
currently in use is not exceeded).
In addition to the Easy-Speed concept, the BaehrTec A700 has a colour display,
which provides you with additional information and which will facilitate
adjusting several device settings (e.g. colour background).
Modern electronic devices typically have energy-saving features. Therefore, we
deliberately excluded a standby mode for the BaehrTec A700. So, when your
device is not required, please turn it off using the main switch, which is
located in a user-friendly position on the front of the device. Protect the
environment and your purse.
You have the following powerful advantages with the BaehrTec A700:
– very lightweight – very low noise level – easy operation with a high degree
of operational safety – high performance, perfectly adjusted to the working
conditions – high robustness (for mobile use) – high and long-term reliability
– high energy-saving potential (no standby mode) – Button on handpiece
The BaehrTec A700 foot care device is manufactured and tested in accordance
with strict quality criteria.
We hope you enjoy your new device and we wish you every success in operating
it.

2.4.3
Possible risks for customers
The suction technology and filter system used in the BaehrTec A700 significantly contribute to a minimization of potentially pathogenic dust in the ambient air and therefore, reduce the risk of communicable germs (microorganisms). Consequently, the customers’ risk based on inhalation is reduced to a minimum and the treatment of immunocompromised customers is justified.
Page 10/60
English V100 – Last update: 09/2018
Operating Manual BaehrTec A700
Possible risks of infection can be detected by routinely and diligently
determining the medical history and in doing so, be prevented.
It is extremely important that you only treat areas of healthy skin or nails
with disinfected/sterilized instruments, in the event that you previously
conducted work in infected areas.
2.4.3.1
Risks due to dust and removed materials
Due to the effective suction system and the filter system used for the
BaehrTec A700, the risk to customers based on inhalation of potentially
pathogenic dust is reduced to a minimum.
A risk due to removed materials (such as nail residues e.g.) is regarded low
based on the sufficient distance to the treatment area.
2.4.3.2
Risk due to moving or rotating parts/instruments
Intense pressure and high rotational speeds can lead to an unwelcome heat
development in the area being treated and in the worst case, to damage of the
tissue concerned due to heat development.
The operator must always be aware that an unintentional puncturing of the skin
can occur if he or she is inattentive or the customer makes sudden movements
(out of reflex). However, this risk is extremely low in the case of
professional handling and constant visual checks.
ATTENTION! In any case, puncturing the skin must be avoided!
2.4.3.3
Allergy risks
The customer normally does not come in contact with the surface of the BaehrTec A700 but solely with the rotating instruments. Therefore, there can, at best, be a susceptibility to allergies regarding the components of the rotating instruments. However, since the treatment involves a very short times of contact (under 30 minutes), this is a minimal risk.
2.4.4
Possible risks for operators
2.4.4.1
Risks due to dust and removed materials
The suction technology and filter system used in the BaehrTec A700
significantly contribute to a minimization of potentially pathogenic dust in
the ambient air and therefore, reduce the risk of communicable germs
(microorganisms). Consequently, the operators’ risk based on inhalation is
reduced to a minimum. Always wear personal protective equipment (such as face
masks, which cover mouth and nose) when working.
A risk due to removed materials (such as nail residues e.g.) is regarded a
hazard to the operator based on the close proximity to the treatment area. In
order to minimize this risk, the operator must wear eye, mouth and nose
protection during treatments.
2.4.4.2
Risk due to moving or rotating parts/instruments
Loose objects such as hair, clothing, jewellery, etc. can get caught and wound up in the rotating parts and instruments. To avoid injuries, the operator must make sure that such loose objects do not come in contact with moving parts / rotating instruments. Hair must be tied back
English V100 Last update: 09/2018
Page 11/60
Operating Manual BaehrTec A700
if necessary or a hair net must be worn. When choosing his or her work
clothes, the operator must make sure that these cannot get caught in the
moving parts / the rotating instruments. These measures minimize the risk.
To prevent damage to/scratches on the device and for hygienic reasons, rings
or other jewellery cannot be worn when operating the device.
2.4.4.3
Allergy risks
A susceptibility to allergies regarding the materials used in the BaehrTec A700 cannot be ruled out but is regarded extremely low however, can be further minimized by wearing disposable gloves. Disposable gloves should also be worn for hygienic reasons during every treatment session.
2.4.5
Safety information
The device is not approved for operation in potentially explosive areas.
Before every application, the operator must make sure of the functional safety
and proper condition of the device.
Improper handling, maintenance and care can lead to premature wear and
malfunctions. This can result in a reduced product life. Therefore, clean and
maintain the device regularly and appropriately and send the device to be
serviced on a regular basis (observe service indicator or at the latest within
24 months)! Damaged functional parts can cause damage or injuries to persons
or objects. Furthermore, this may result in (even greater) damage to your
device. Stop working immediately and disconnect the device from the mains when
functional parts are damaged and contact customer service. If you put the
handpiece down, there is risk of injury when reaching for the handpiece.
Injuries from used instruments can result in infections. Please take care when
setting down the handpiece, so that you do not injure yourself. Keep children
away from the device! Risk of strangulation due to the power cable and
handpiece hose. Manipulation of the device by children (for use at home) Risk
of swallowing small parts/accessories (e.g. instruments) In households, there
is the risk of the power cable being damaged by pets for example. Therefore,
please check the power cable regularly for damage and if damage is detected,

Make sure the power cable is not damaged by being pinched, bent or rubbed on sharp edges. If you notice any damage to the mains cable, please immediately stop working with your device, turn off the main switch and immediately remove the safety plug from the safety socket. To be able to work with the device again, please order a new power cable. Only use manufacturer approved power cables to operate your device. If you require a new cable, please contact the manufacturer. Operating the device using other cables is not permitted.
Never operate the device with a damaged power cable.
Your device has a detachable connector plug mechanism (see section “rear view”) Please ensure that the device is positioned so that a disconnection is unlikely at all times.
Do not work with the BaehrTec A700 in damp rooms such as saunas or bathing facilities for example. Wet conditions and moisture on the control unit can lead to dangerous current leaks, which pose the risk of an electric shock. Disconnect the device immediately from the socket. Please send the device in for servicing with a description of the defect. Before each use (including before first time use), please make sure that the dust bag and all other filters have been inserted correctly. Find more details in section “Care (disinfection)” of the BaehrTec A700.
Rings or jewellery worn while working with the device can cause scratches on the handpiece. Such damage is excluded from the warranty. You should never wear jewellery when working with the device.
Please only work with the suction turned on in order to suction off any pathogenic dust and to prevent the handpiece motor or the handpiece from becoming warm.
Never submerge the device in liquids and do not suck up any liquids.
If you suck up any cotton, paper or the like, this can clog the suction openings in the handpiece. This can severely affect the suction power.
If the symbol for a filter change appears
on the display, it is essential that you change
the dust bag (the display can only function reliably if all filters are inserted correctly. Therefore,
only work with the device if all filters are inserted). If you do not do so, the device will

in the development of the suction system of the BaehrTec A700.
Therefore, first and foremost we would like to give you some insight into the
operation of the suction system.
You can work with the handpiece motor switched on if the suction system is
disabled.
However, you cannot work with the suction enabled if the handpiece motor is
not running.
As soon as the handpiece motor is running, the suction also always
automatically switches on (barely noticeable). We deliberately chose to do
this because this prevents the handpiece from becoming warm and also ensures
that dust created by using the device is suctioned off to a minimum. If you do
not turn on the suction yourself, we will describe this in the following as
disabled suction. Please be aware that it is always running, even if you have
not turned it on.
You can set the currently selected suction level using the button (20) at any
time, so that it is “Not ready for operation” or “Ready for operation”.
“Not ready for operation” means that the suction system is not enabled, while
the handpiece motor is running. This is indicated on the display by showing
transparent bars in the bar graph (= suction not ready for operation).
“Ready for operation” means that the suction system is enabled, while the handpiece motor is running. This is indicated on the display by showing blue bars in the bar graph (= suction ready for operation).
If you press button (20) while the handpiece motor is running, the suction
system will be immediately enabled/disabled.
If you press button (20) while the handpiece motor is not running, the suction
system will be turned on or it will remain turned off as soon as you turn on
the handpiece motor.

Operating Manual BaehrTec A700
Here, ready for operation does not necessarily mean that the suction system is
actually active because the suction system only becomes active, when the
suction system is ready for operation and the handpiece motor is also in
operation.
If the suction system is actually active, this will be indicated on the
display by means of two additional symbols.
This symbol is displayed if the suction system is currently not in operation
with the suction level you set (suction off).
This symbol is displayed if the suction system is currently not in operation
with the suction level you set (suction on). (Can only appear while the
handpiece motor is running).
Therefore, the following situations are possible:
Handpiece motor
Off Off On On
Suction ready for use
No Yes No Yes

Transparent Blue Transparent Blue
Suction
Off Off Off On
This offers you the following advantage: If you set the suction so that it is “not ready for operation”, you can always see which suction level you selected last. Now, if you would like to set the suction in the exact same way, all you need to do is simply press button (20) and the suction will be ready for operation again. As soon as you change the suction level by pressing the button (27) or (28), this suction level is set as well as “ready for use”. Therefore, you only ever have to press one button.

Filter control As soon as the pores of the dust bag are clogged (dust bag is
full), this is shown to you on the display by means of the filter control
symbol. In this case, you have to replace the dust bag. (For information on
how to change the dust bag, please refer to the section “Changing the dust
bag”).
Service control The BaehrTec A700 has a service interval display. The service
interval is 905 hours and refers to the operating hours of the handpiece motor
as of delivery/the last time serviced. You must send your device for
servicing, when the service key lights up on the display (or within 24 months;
this time interval is not displayed by the device), to avoid extensive and
costly repairs.
The service interval is actually 900 hours. But given that your device already
has meter readings at the time of delivery, we have included a buffer of 5
hours for you as described in the following section.
4.5.2
Adjustment mode (Options Menu)
You can change settings and call up information on your device using the “Adjustment mode”. As soon as you turn on your device, you are automatically in “Work mode”. Then, to exit work mode and reach the options menu, please press the button (18).
For your own safety, it is only possible to exit the work mode and switch to
the options menu when the handpiece motor is turned off.
It will take approx. half a second to change to the next menu item, when
scrolling through a menu level using the buttons (14) and (15). This ensures
that you have enough time, to take a look at all selection options. Unlike the
settings you make in work mode (except memory functions), the settings you
make in the options menu will still be available to you even after switching
off the device.

Your BaehrTec A700 goes through various quality controls prior to delivery. In
the process, your A700 undergoes a functional test amongst other things.
Therefore, please do not be surprised if the device already has some meter
readings. This is perfectly normal and does not mean that it is a used device.
For reasons of operational safety, we recommend that you do not disable the
sounds!
You cannot make any changes in the Information menu item! This item is for
viewing purposes only.
If you exceed the service interval, negative values will appear for “Service
in”, and the device will count the operating hours that have lapsed since the
last service date.
You can navigate through the options menu using the following buttons ·

Home Function (button (17))
This button has two functions: By briefly pressing the Home button, you can
directly access the Work mode from the options menu (see “Work mode” section).
By pressing this button for approximately 5 seconds, the base settings made in
the factory will be restored:
· Speed of the handpiece motor = 6,000 rpm · Direction of rotation of the
instrument = clockwise · Suction level = 4+ · Language = German · Sound = Aqua
· Background colour = white
The set-up of the base settings cannot be changed.
All settings are reset (also the values of the memory buttons) to the factory
settings by pressing the button for approx. 5 seconds. Of course the
information (meter readings, etc.), is not affected by this.
4.7
Memory buttons (buttons (29) – (30))
Your device has two memory buttons, which you can use to save your preferred settings in Work mode. These settings are retained even if you turn off the device.
In order to save settings, please set them (instrument rotational speed, direction of rotation of the instrument and suction level) in Work mode and hold the memory button, where you would like to save these settings, for more than 2 seconds. Once the settings are saved, you will hear a sound and the respective memory storage space is shown on the display.
All memory buttons are factory pre-set as follows:
· Handpiece motor speed: 6,000 rpm
· Handpiece motor rotation direction: right
· Suction level:
4+
Please note that the selected adjustments are saved if you keep the memory button pressed for more than 2 seconds. This means that settings saved to this memory button up to that point will be lost.
To recall settings saved to a memory button, briefly press the desired memory button. The saved settings are then applied. This is indicated to you on the display by showing the corresponding memory button.
Please note that when briefly pressing the memory buttons, you only hear a sound after you remove your finger from the button.

Attaching/detaching the dust bag lid to the control unit
Before you remove the dust bag lid from the control unit or attach it again, turn off the device using the main switch (3) and remove the safety plug (58) from the socket.
4.8.1
Detaching
To detach the dust bag lid from the control unit, please proceed as follows:
- Hold the dust bag lid by the handle and lift it off the control unit. You
can feel a slight
resistance from the magnetic fasteners when lifting it.
4.8.2
Attaching
To attach the dust bag lid to the control unit, please proceed as follows:
- Reattach the dust bag lid to the control unit. The magnets ensure that the
dust bag lid
is pulled towards the housing and therefore, closed.

When changing the dust bag, make sure that the dust bag is not caught between
the control unit and the dust bag lid. If this is the case, remove the dust
bag lid once again and make sure that the dust bag is not caught anywhere when
closing.
Before you close the dust bag lid and resume your work, always make sure that
the turbine protection filter (rectangular) is inserted and that you have
attached an undamaged dust bag correctly in the receptacle (39) for the dust
bag (42), so that no contamination can penetrate the turbine and damage the
device.
4.9
Changing the filter
We recommend regularly changing the dust bag (at least once per week) as well
as all filters at least every four weeks, to prevent excessive germ buildup.
Do not put your health at risk!
Before we describe how to change the filter, we would like to provide you with
some quick information on the filtration system in the BaehrTec A700.
1. Filter: Dust bag To date, this filter has been proven and tested in many
suction systems. It filters out the majority of dust particles. It is
affordable, not too large and therefore, must be changed more often than a
large dust bag. This has the great advantage that you do not have a buildup of
organic dust and pathogens in your filter system for long periods of time. The
dust bag is located in the suction chamber on the receptacle (39) for the dust
bag (42).
If you require additional dust bags, you can reorder the microfibre dust bags
(item no. 20701) as included in delivery.
English V100 Last update: 09/2018
Page 35/60
Operating Manual BaehrTec A700
2. Filter: Turbine protection filter This filter prevents larger parts from
entering the turbines (e.g. if you have forgotten to install a dust bag). The
turbine protection filter is located in the filter chamber on the grille.
3. Filter cartridge The filter cartridge includes several different fleeces
with different features:
· Sound-insulating fleece This fleece ensures that the suction noise is
reduced and therefore, contributes to the pleasant volume of the A700.
· Coarse filter fleece This fleece filters coarser particles from the
extracted air
· Ultra-fine filter fleece This fleece filters ultra-fine particles from the
extracted air. However, this fleece is also responsible for filtering viruses
and bacteria from the extracted air (maximum separation rate 99.99%).
· Carbon filter foam This fleece also ensures that odours are neutralized.
For information on how to change the fleeces of the filter cartridges, please
refer to the section on “Changing the filters”.
Before you change any of the filters, please turn off the device using the
main switch (3) and remove the safety plug (58) from the socket.
Only the original dust bags and original filters can be used!
Please keep in mind that the dust bag fills up quicker, when working on
artificial nails (due to the greater amount of removed material). Furthermore,
always wear personal protective equipment (eye, mouth and nose protection),
when working on artificial nails!
Used filters cannot be cleaned and the dust bags cannot not be emptied and
then reused. Always use fresh filters and a new dust bag for each filter
change.
Please dispose of used filters with residual waste. It is best to discard of
them in a zip bag.
4.9.1
Changing the dust bag
It is important to change the dust bag immediately, as soon as the symbol for a dust bag
change
lights up on the display. We recommend changing the dust bag weekly, to
avoid excessive germ build-up.
If the icon for a dust bag change lights up, the suction system will no longer function at full capacity. If you do not observe this indication, the device will automatically switch back to suction level 3 within 30 seconds. This prevents the device from being damaged.
To change the dust bag, please proceed as follows:
-
Turn off the device using the main switch and disconnect it from the power supply.
-
Remove the dust bag lid from the control unit (see the section on “Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the control unit”).
-
Remove the old dust bag from the receptacle (39).
Page 36/60

- Clean the filter chamber and the dust bag lid each time you change the dust bag, to guarantee proper suction power and to prevent germ formation. Do not put your health at risk!
For cleaning, we recommend the Baehr wipes item no. 11000.
5) Carefully push the opening of the dust bag onto the receptacle (39), until
the (cardboard) reinforcement of the dust bag locks into the slot on the dust
bag lid.
Make sure that you do not damage the dust bag, when sliding it on and that you do not bend the seams.
- Place the dust bag lid back on the control unit (see section on “Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the control unit”).
4.9.2
Changing the turbine protection filter
The turbine protection filter and all other filters must be replaced
immediately if you have been working with your BaehrTec A700 without a dust
bag (you forgot) or if a dust bag has burst.
To change the turbine protection filter, please proceed as follows:
- Turn off the device using the main switch and disconnect it from the power supply.
- Remove the dust bag lid from the control unit (see the section on “Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the control unit”).
- Remove the old turbine protection filter from the suction chamber.
- Clean the suction chamber, the dust bag lid, the grille and the magnetic fasteners on the control unit and the dust bag lid whenever a filter is changed.
For cleaning, we recommend the Baehr wipes item no. 11000.
- Place a new turbine protection filter on the grille.

4.9.3
Changing the filters
You have to change the turbine protection filter and all other filters if you inserted a new dust
bag and the symbol
for a dust bag change still lights up. You should also change the
turbine protection filter and the other filters if you believe that the symbol for a dust bag change
has lit up too early after successfully changing the dust bag. We strictly recommend changing
the filters on a regular basis; at least every four weeks.
To change all filters, please proceed as follows:
-
Turn off the device using the main switch and disconnect it from the power supply.
-
The filter grille can be removed from the device by pressing the clip down and lifting the filter grille out of the device.

Getting started
1. Please make sure that there is a dust bag in your BaehrTec A700. To do so,
you have to detach the dust bag lid from the control unit (see section
on”Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the control unit”). On the
receptacle (39) on the inside of the dust bag lid, a dust bag is pushed on up
to the stop. Furthermore, there is a turbine protection filter inside the
suction chamber. If everything is OK, reattach the dust bag lid back to the
control unit (see section on “Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the
control unit”). If there is no dust bag, you have to insert a new dust bag
before working with the device (see section on “Changing the dust bag”). Now,
reattach the dust bag lid to the control unit (see section on
“Detaching/attaching the dust bag lid from/to the control unit”).
2. Please ensure that the device has a secure footing, does not fall down and
cannot be torn down and that the extracted air can escape easily. Switch the
main switch (3) off.
3. Insert the included cold device connection cable (57) with the cold device
coupling (56) into the cold device plug (46).
4. Plug the safety plug (58) into a proper safety outlet.
5. Now, switch on the BaehrTec A700 using the main switch (2). After a short
LED check, the “Power ON” LED (4) and the LED for the largest instrument
(6,000 rpm) (5) will light up.
Page 40/60
English V100 – Last update: 09/2018
Operating Manual BaehrTec A700
The following items are set after each power on: o Handpiece motor direction
of rotation = right o Handpiece speed = 6,000 rpm (LED illuminated) o
Handpiece motor = OFF o Suction level = 4+ o Suction = ready for operation o
Suction = off (because handpiece motor = off)
These settings are also shown to you accordingly on the display. The BaehrTec
A700 is now ready for use.
6. Now, hold the handpiece in one hand and insert an instrument with a shaft
diameter of 2.35 mm as far as possible into the opening for DIN-instruments
(52). Only use instruments with a standardized shaft diameter according to DIN
EN ISO 1797 amounting to 2.35 mm, cylindrical TYPE 2. Given that the BaehrTec
A700 has a quickclamping mechanism, the instrument only needs to be
(completely) inserted as deep as possible, to ensure a secure hold. The head
of the instrument cannot be larger than the instrument head shown on the front
panel (max. 12 mm).
Never use instruments with an oily, worn, scratched or bent shaft. Otherwise,
there is no guarantee that your instrument can be held firmly in the
handpiece! Furthermore, this can result in an imbalance occurring in the
handpiece, which can damage it. The imbalance can also lead to compromising
the secure hold of the instrument.
Caution risk of injury! Never attempt to insert or remove instruments into/
out of the opening (52), when the handpiece motor is running. Instruments can
only be changed when the handpiece motor is switched off. The instrument heads
indicated on the front foil are intended to help you identify the maximum
speed for your instruments. However, before you work with an instrument, be
sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the permitted maximum
speed. Under no circumstances can the maximum speed specified there be
exceeded. This poses a risk of injury and the risk of damaging your device.
7. Now, select the permitted maximum speed for the instrument you currently
want to work with. The instrument heads depicted (max. diameter) and the
associated speed should help you find the permitted maximum speed for your
instruments quickly and safely. Under no circumstances can the permitted
maximum speed be exceeded; otherwise the instrument or the handpiece can be
damaged. This can also cause injuries due to broken instrument heads. The
correct permitted maximum speed for the instrument you currently want to use
can be found by comparing the instrument diameter on the front film with the
instrument heads shown. Once you have found a match, press the on the depicted
instrument head, which you have found to be correct. The permitted maximum
speed is now set. The speed is shown on the display. Lower speeds are
generally permitted for all of the instruments.
WARNING: This is a speed recommendation. Please refer to the data sheet of the
instrument manufacturer, to find out the permitted maximum speed of the
instrument. Under no circumstances can the permitted maximum speed be
exceeded; otherwise the instruments or the handpiece can be damaged. This can
also cause injuries due to broken instruments.
The speed ranges 6,000 and 10,000 rpm for the instruments with 12 mm diameter
(abrasive caps/DiaTWISTER) are not designed to be used to remove calluses but
rather to smoothen calluses (with little pressure).
To remove calluses, select instruments (abrasive caps/DiaTWISTER) with 10 mm
diameter for the speed ranges 15,000 or 20,000 rpm.

8. No, turn on the handpiece motor using the push button (13) on the control
unit or the push button (55) on the handpiece. The arrow on the display is now
blue. Now, the instrument turns clockwise at the speed you have selected. You
can now change the motor speed of the handpiece by pressing the buttons (5)
(12) however, you cannot exceed the highest permissible speed for the
instrument being used. The selected speed is indicated on the display. You can
change the instrument speed in steps of 1,000 using the buttons (14) and (15).
Please note that by changing the rotational speed in steps of 1,000 (button
(14) or button (15)), the maximal permissible instrument size also changes, as
soon as you reach the next defined maximum rotational speed using the buttons
(5) – (12). This is shown to you with the blue LED in the instrument area (5a)
(12a). The actual speed is shown on the display (19).
E.g. The speed is set to 6,000 rpm. Now, press the button (14) until you reach
the next defined rotational speed (9,000 rpm = button (6)) by pressing the
buttons (5) – (12). Now, the LED for 9,000 rpm lights up automatically (6a)).
This reminds you that a different maximum instrument diameter must be used.
The instrument heads indicated on the front foil are intended to help you
identify the maximum speed for your instruments. However, before you work with
an instrument, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the
permitted maximum speed. Under no circumstances can the maximum speed
specified there be exceeded. This poses a risk of injury and the risk of
damaging your device.
The maximum speed for the instrument currently in use cannot be exceeded.
Make sure that you do not block the handpiece motor by overloading it. This
can be the case for example if your instrument gets caught in something (such
as a towel) while working. If this happens, switch off your device using the
main switch as soon as possible or disconnect it from the mains as soon as
possible. As soon as the device is disconnected from the mains, remove the
blockage and check your device for damage (e.g. instrument or handpiece
damaged). Only reconnect the device to the mains and turn it on again if you
do not find any damage. Now, check your device at a handpiece rotational speed
of 6,000 rpm with a small instrument (max. Ø 7 mm) and carefully test the
entire rotational speed range step by step. If everything is OK, you can
continue your work carefully.
9. You can change the suction level using the push buttons (27) or (28) or
set minimal suction with push button (21) or maximum suction with push button
(22). The selected suction level is shown on the display.
As soon as the handpiece motor is running, the suction also always
automatically switches on (barely noticeable). We deliberately chose to do
this because this prevents the handpiece from becoming warm and also ensures
that dust created by using the device is suctioned off to a minimum. 10. You
can switch the suction function to “Not ready for operation” and in doing so,
to off, using push button (20).
11. You can turn the handpiece motor on/off using push button (13) on the
control unit or push button (55) on the handpiece.
Please note that the suction is automatically switched off as soon as you turn off the handpiece motor.
12. You can switch the direction of the handpiece motor to counterclockwise or clockwise (for righties or lefties) using push button (16). This is shown on the display, when the arrow indicating the direction of rotation points in the other direction.
Page 42/60

You can change the direction of rotation while the handpiece motor is running.
13. You can make changes o before the handpiece motor is running
–> when switching on the handpiece motor, the device operates with the preset
values o while the handpiece motor is running
–> the changed settings will take effect immediately
14. If the display shows the symbol for a dust bag change, it is time to
change the dust bag. In this case, the suction system will no longer work at
full capacity. If you do not observe this indication, the suction will switch
back to level 3 automatically within 30 seconds. This prevents the device from
being damaged. (For information on how to change the dust bag, please refer to
the section on “Changing the dust bag”).
We are confident that you will quickly become accustomed to working with your
BaehrTec A700 safely and properly and wish you all the best doing so!
4.11
Instrument changing aid (insertion and removal aid for very small
instruments)
To supplement your Easy-Clean clamping mechanism, we have developed an instrument changing aid, to make it easier for you to change (remove and insert) very small instruments (instrument diameter approx. 1.5 mm approx. 5.0 mm).
Insert
It is essential that you read this section with the utmost care! It contains
important information on protecting yourself, others and the device from
damage! It can only be used by trained professionals.
Never change an instrument on a device that is still connected to the mains.
First, turn off the device using the main switch and disconnect it from the
power supply. Caution risk of injury! Never try to change the instrument on
the handpiece while the handpiece motor is running. The handpiece motor must
be switched off. Only use the appropriate tool to change the instrument. Other
types and fields of application are carried out at your own risk, and can pose
risks. No type of misuse is permitted. Improper use can lead to damage to
persons or objects. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damages
caused by improper use, unqualified personnel or incorrect operation. All
warranty claims are void following improper use.
Clean the instrument changing aid after each use and make sure that it is

5.1
Safety information
Never perform cleaning work or change a filter on a device that is still
connected to the mains.
Before sending in the device, it is essential that you remove the dust bag!!!
Make sure your device in an immaculate hygienic condition before sending it in
for servicing. Possible cleaning work is always charged.
Due to safety regulations, you are required to carry out an individual risk
assessment for your electronic devices. On this basis, you are obligated to
have your devices inspected. We recommend having your devices inspected once a
year.
Always send in your device with the original power cable.

5.2
Care (cleaning and disinfection)
To prevent transmitting pathogens, the requirements of the nationally
responsible authorities for hygiene and disinfection must be observed.
For cleaning and disinfection, we recommend the Baehr wipes item no.11000 or a
nonalcohol-based surface disinfectant, which potentially covers the existing
bacterial spectrum. The disinfectants and cleaning agents must be used
according to the manufacturers’ instructions.
Do not use any acids, strong alkalis, solvents or corrosive agents for
cleaning purposes.
When using disinfectants, a slight lightening or dulling of surfaces can
occur. However, this will have no effect on the function or the safety of the
device.
Never immerse the device in water or any other liquids; this poses a risk of
electric shock. Under no circumstances can disinfection spray be used because
that would allow moisture to penetrate the device, which could lead to bearing
damage or electronic damage or even pose a risk of an electric shock!
Clean the outside of the handpiece and the panels of the device after each
treatment by wiping them down with disinfectant (observe application times, do
not dry off and allow to evaporate before the next treatment). To do so, we
recommend the BAEHR wipes for quick disinfection (item 11000, 11001, 11044).
Clean and disinfect the handpiece every work day as follows: Turn off the
device using the main switch and disconnect it from the power supply. Unscrew
the outer handpiece sleeve ((53) Fig. 11) from the handpiece cap ((54)
Abb.11). Clean the handpiece cap with a small, soft brush and wipe it down
with the BAEHR wipes for quick disinfection (Item 11000, 11001, 11044). The
handpiece cape with the electronic parts of the handpiece cannot, under any
circumstances, be placed in any liquid. Wipe down the handpiece sleeve on the
outside with disinfectant and on the inside with a cleaning and disinfection
cloth, which does not have fixing properties (we recommend the BAEHR wipes for
quick disinfection, 5 min. (Item 11000, 11001, 11044).
You can find more manufacturer information (on cleaning, disinfection and
sterilization of the rotating instruments) on our website www.fusspflege.com
in the download section of the customer portal.
We recommend regularly changing the dust bag (at least once a week) and all
filters at least every four weeks (even if the filter display does not
indicate a filter change), to prevent excessive germ build-up. Do not put your
health at risk.
5.2.1
Cleaning the handpiece button
If your handpiece button is dirty or the button no longer functions correctly, then proceed as follows:
Switch off your device using the main switch and disconnect the device from the mains.
Please wear personal protective equipment for the cleaning process (suitable disposable gloves). Take the button pusher between your thumb and forefinger and pull it out from the button housing.

5.2.2
Easy-Clean clamping mechanism
We are delighted to inform you that your handpiece includes our newly
developed, innovative and patented Easy-Clean clamping mechanism (hereinafter
referred to as “Easy-Clean”).
In a conventional clamping mechanism, the dirt, which accumulates when
working, can cause an instrument you are operating with your handpiece to
stop, even though the motor is running. This can also be accelerated by
creams, oils, greases or the like. The consequence: The clamping mechanism is
no longer functional or only functional to a limited extent and in the passed,
would have to have been sent to the factory for maintenance and cleaning. To
save you from having to do this in future, we developed Easy-Clean. You can
easily clean Easy-Clean yourself without any great expense or effort.
The Easy-Clean grips need to be cleaned at least once a month! Recommendation:
In the case of an average of 8 to 10 treatments per day, you should clean the
grips every 14 days with the tool supplied. If you prefer cleaning the grips
every day due to reasons of hygiene as well as the device itself please
only use the clamping mechanism cleaner 2 (brush) with alcohol.
It is essential that you read this section with the utmost care! It contains
important information on protecting yourself, others and the device from
damage! It can only be used by trained professionals.
Never perform cleaning work or change a filter on a device that is still
connected to the mains. First, turn off the device using the main switch and
disconnect it from the power supply. Caution risk of injury! Never try to
perform cleaning work on the handpiece while the handpiece motor is running.
The handpiece motor must be switched off.

Only the appropriate tool should be used to clean Easy-Clean. Other types and
fields of application are carried out at your own risk, and can pose risks. No
type of misuse is permitted. Improper use can lead to damage to persons or
objects. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damages caused by
improper use, unqualified personnel or incorrect operation. All warranty
claims are void following improper use. The clamping mechanism cleaner can
only be used for Easy-Clean (developed for self cleaning). Under no
circumstances can the clamping mechanism cleaner be used on conventional
clamping mechanisms, which are not intended for self cleaning; this would
cause immediate damage to the clamping mechanism. Clean the clamping mechanism
cleaner 1 after each use and make sure that it is always in a perfect hygienic
condition before use. We recommend a brush (item no. 34914), to clean the
clamping mechanism cleaner 1. For reasons of hygiene, please clean the
clamping mechanism cleaner 2 after use under running water and then, place it
in an appropriate surface disinfectant (e.g. BAEHR quick surface disinfectant,
5 min. item no. 11002) and then, rinse off the disinfectant with water and
then, alcohol. The images are for illustrative purposes only. Subject to
technical and optical changes.
