Introduction

Service entrance barrier installation instructions for use with:

  • QO load centers, Series S0_, three-phase (125–225 A) QBL, QDL, QGL or QJL circuit breaker

Installation

DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH

  • Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462 or NOM-029-STPS.
  • This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified electrical personnel.
  • Turn off all power supplying the equipment where this kit will be installed before working on or inside equipment.
  • Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
  • Replace all devices, doors and covers before turning on power to this equipment.

Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

  1. Turn off all power to the equipment where this service entrance barrier will be installed.
  2. After the service entrance conductors have been properly installed, press the service entrance barrier (NVE35879) simultaneously onto the service entrance conductors and into the mounting holes in the circuit breaker until fully seated. See Figure 1.

Note: The service barrier does not allow the load center to be serviced while energized. Always turn off all power to the load center prior to any service.
