QUICK START
Important
Before playing AP300, please note the following:
- Do not bite the mouthpiece too hard. This can damage the vibrato sensor. Use the mouthpiece cover after using or while carrying.
- Before playing, make sure the AP300 is fully charged.
- Keep the mouthpiece clean before, during, and after using the AP300.
Power AP300
- Power On : Press and hold the power button until the light turns on.
- Power Off : Press and hold the power button to turn it off.
- Charging: Use the included USB cable to connect AP300’s USB port to a USB power adapter, or other power sources. When the battery is low, the Power button LED will blink, indicating the need to charge the battery.
- Installation: To install the battery, use a standard Phillips-head screwdriver (not included) to remove the battery compartment cover located below the Phone’s output. Insert the battery, ensuring it is properly aligned, and securely reattach the cover.
Hold AP300
- Secure the neck strap to the AP300’s neck strap clip.
- Place the strap around your neck and hold the AP300 in the same way you would hold a saxophone or clarinet, with the instrument vertically right in front of you.
- To start playing, place your left thumb on the octave rollers on the back; place your right thumb under the Thumb Hook. This will ensure the best possible conductivity and performance of the instrument.
Connect
To play AP300’s audio through an external amplifier:
Use a standard 1/4″ (6.35mm) cable to connect the AP300’s Line Out to an
external amplifier or other audio interfaces.
Important: The Line Out is a mono output. If you are connecting to a mono input (like those on most keyboard amplifiers, audio interfaces, etc) use a TS cable instead of a TRS cable.
To play AP300’s audio through a headphone:
You can connect the instrument with standard 1/8″ (3.5mm) stereo headphones
through AP300’s Phones jack.
Important: Please use a headphone without MIC jack. Otherwise, it will affect the sound quality.
To play AP300 as a MIDI controller:
- Make sure AP300 is powered off. If it is not, press the power button to turn it off.
- Use the included USB cable to connect the AP300’s USB port to your computer.
Play
- Hold the mouthpiece gently between your lips with your teeth, and exhale so your breath passes through both sides of your mouth. The AP300 detects this wind pressure with the breath sensor and expresses the change in sound volume and character, depending on how you blow. (It should not take much breath to activate the instrument.)
- Vibrato: With build in mouthpiece sensor, exhale so your breath passes through both sides of your mouth, and bite the mouthpiece in slight strength, to play with vibrato.
Tips
There is a bite sensor in the mouthpiece. You can produce a vibrato effect by
gently biting the mouthpiece, which will bend the pitch up each time you bite,
but do not bite too hard. If the AP300’s note keys, octave rollers, pitch-bend
plates, or glide plates are not very responsive, it could be because you are
playing with dry hands.

Bluetooth Connection
The AP300 has built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to wirelessly connect the instrument to your smartphone or tablet. This enables you to play accompaniments with ease.
How to Connect via Bluetooth
- After the instrument is turned on, Bluetooth will automatically activate. To connect with your smartphone or tablet, please search for the Bluetooth device named “EWIND.”
- Typically, no password is required for automatic connection. However, if prompted, please enter the password: 8888.
- Once successfully connected, the accompaniment music from your smartphone or tablet will play through the instrument’s built-in speaker.
Connection Method 1: Smartphone/Tablet + Electronic Wind Instrument
We recommend adjusting the volume to approximately halfway and turn off the
reverb. The built-in speaker is suitable for regular practice, but avoid
excessively high-volume levels, as it may cause distortion.
Connection Method 2: Smartphone/Tablet + Electronic Wind Instrument +
External Speaker
This method allows for the best representation of the instrument’s sound
quality and performance effects.
Change Settings
Suggested Settings for Beginners
- Breath Sense: The default value is 95. For beginners, we recommend adjusting the value to above 100. Increasing the value makes it easier for you to produce sounds by blowing into the instrument.
- Reverb: The default value is 30. If you are playing with the built-in speaker, you can set the value to 0. If you connect the instrument to an amplifier, we suggest adjusting the value from 40 to 100. Higher values will create a stronger reverb effect.
- Fingering: If you are new to wind instruments and have not learned any specific fingering patterns before, we recommend starting with the Standard Fingering.
