This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is
intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage
within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the
user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the literature accompanying the product.

- TO PREVENT FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS PRODUCT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
- Do not install this equipment in a confined space such as a bookcase or similar unit.
CAUTION:
- Do not use high voltage products around this product. (ex. Electrical swatter) This product may malfunction due to electrical shock.
- No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from over heating. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This product shall not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instruction has been adhered to.
- Install this apparatus in a location where the power plug can be easily unplugged and plugged in. If there is a fire or problem with this apparatus, unplug it quickly.
- The apparatus should not be exposed to water (dripping or splashing) and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the apparatus.
- For safety marking information including product identification and supply ratings, please refer to the main label on the bottom or the other surface of the product.
For models using an adapter
Only use the AC adapter supplied with this device. Do not use a power supply from another device or another manufacturer. Using any other power cable or power supply may cause damage to the device. The LG limited warranty does not cover damage caused by the use of third party accessories.
For models using a battery
This device is equipped with a portable battery or accumulator.
CAUTION : Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
How to Safely remove the batteries or the battery pack from the equipment: To Remove the old batteries or battery pack, follow the assembly steps in reverse order.
To prevent contamination of the environment and bring on possible threat to human and/or animal health, the old batteries or the battery pack must be put in an appropriate container at designated collection points. Do not dispose of batteries or battery pack together with other waste. It is recommended that you use local, free reimbursement systems batteries or battery packs, (may not be available in your area). The batteries or the battery pack should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
For models using a built-in battery
Do not store or transport at pressures lower than 11.6 kPa (0.116 bar) and at above 15,000 m (9.32 miles) altitude. y replacement of a battery with an incorrect type that can defeat a safeguard (for example, in the case of some lithium battery types);
- disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion;
- leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas;
- a battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Connect the soundbar to your TV via an optical cable or an HDMI cable.

If you are using an external device (ex. Set-top box, Blu-ray player, game console, etc.), connect it to the TV via an HDMI cable
If necessary, purchase HDMI cables, an optical cable, or a USB extension cable to connect the soundbar. -
Connect to power in the following order: wireless subwoofer [ soundbar. Then, turn on the soundbar. When the connection is automatically established with the soundbar, the LED on the wireless subwoofer will light up in green.

Connecting the product to your smartphone via Bluetooth

Tap the Settings button on your smartphone and select Bluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function. ( )

Press the Bluetooth pair button. After a moment, LED1 and LED2 blink white.

Find and select the Soundbar on your smartphone. The product should appear as “LG S40T(XX)”.

When the product is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, LED1 and LED2 light up white.

Connecting to the LG Soundbar app

Find and install the LG Soundbar app on Google Play or App Store from your smartphone.

You can get more information regarding its use by selecting [Help] in [Setting]
If you see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer, it means that the soundbar is not connected to the subwoofer. If this is the case, connect them in the following order.

Press the Power button on the soundbar to turn it off.

Press the PAIRING button on the back of the wireless subwoofer. Check if LED blinks green.
– If you still see a red LED on the wireless subwoofer, press and hold the button on the back of the subwoofer again. -
Press the Power button on the soundbar to turn it on.

When the connection is established, you will see a green LED light on the wireless subwoofer light up.
Keep the soundbar, the subwoofer away from the device (ex. wireless router, microwave oven, etc.) over 1 m (3.3 ft) to prevent wireless interference.
