How to prevent bit or screw stripping

  1. Use the correct screwdriver bit for the selected screw – type and size
  2. Keep your driver perpendicular to the screw head
  3. Make sure the tip is fully seated into the screw head recess before you start turning
  4. Apply the right amount of force
  5. If using an electric driver is necessary, apply sufficient but not too much pressure on the driver
  6. Stop immediately if the bit or screw starts stripping – switch to a different screwdriver or hold the one you’re using in a straight position.

Troubleshooting

Fault
