  • The distance between the underside of the appliance and the separator panel must respect the dimensions given in the figure (mini. 50mm).
  • In order to ensure the correct operation of the stove, do not obstruct the minimum required clearance (min. 20 mm) on the worktop for airflow out.
  • If an undertop oven is installed, make sure the oven is equipped with a cooling system.
  • Do not install the stove above a dishwasher or washing machine, so that the electronic circuits do not come into contact with steam or moisture which could damage them.

Equipment commissioning

  • Prior to connecting the stove, check whether the voltage indicated on the type plate corresponds to the voltage supply in your home. A wrong connection may lead to grave damage to the stove and injury to persons.
  • The hotplate’s surface consists of temperature-resistant ceramics. In case of damage, even if this concerns only a small tear, disconnect the device from the power supply immediately and contact customer service.
  • We recommend not placing any metal kitchen utensils, cookware, pan lids, knives, or other metal objects on the hotplate. These may heat up when the stove is turned on.
  • Do not place any magnetic objects like credit cards, cassettes, etc. on the glass surface while the stove is in operation.
  • In order to avoid overheating, do not place any aluminum foil or metal plates on the stove.
  • Do not insert any objects like wires or tools into the ventilation slots. Attention: this may cause electric shocks.
  • Do not touch the hot surface of the ceramic field. Please note: the hotplate does not heat upitself during cooking, but the temperature of the cookware heats up the hotplate!
  • Do not heat up any unopened tins on the hotplate. A heated tin could explode; therefore remove the lid under all circumstances beforehandXKITCHEN-IDKT2B902-12-in-2-Elements-Smooth-Ceramic-Cooktop-fig \(2\)

Operating

Place suitable cookware onto the cooker plate, and connect the plug to a suitable socket.

The operation of both zones is the same.

Power

To heat up, turn the knob clockwise to the desired position, adjustment is continuous so that the appliance also operates at any intermediate value.

  • Turn the knob for the front cooking zone. The power level is based on the number shown on the display. Front cooking zone up to max 900W.
  • Turn the knob for the rear cooking zone. The power level is based on the number shown on the display. Rear cooking zone up to max 1500W.

When two burners work at the same time, the maximum total power is 1800W.

Timer

The timer can be used to set a cooking time of up to 99 minutes (1 hour and 39 minutes) for all cooking areas. Select the cooking area to use with the timer, press the button with the clock symbol, and then use the knob to set the desired cooking time. Once the set time has passed, a sound signal will sound and the hob will automatically close. To disable the timer, you can turn the knob to code 00 or keep touching the clock for 3 seconds. During the timing period, you can press the knob to adjust power levels.

Key Lock (Childlock)

To ensure the safety of children, the ceramic hob is fitted with an interlock system.

  • Lock: keep touching the “Interlock” key for 3 seconds; the stove will go to “Interlock” mode, the timer will show “L0” and the rest of the keys are disabled.
  • Unlock: keep touching the lock key for 3 seconds and the hob will return to normal working.

Residual heat indicator

When the stove has been operating for a period of time, there will be some residual heat. The residual heat indicator LED (Hot) warns for each cooking zone separately and shows “H”.

Safety systems

To protect the electronic components from overheating, the control unit will automatically switch off the nearest hotplate and display the letter “H” if excessive heat is detected. The hotplate can be reactivated once the electronic unit temperature returns to normal. Each hotplate is equipped with an internal temperature limiter that will shut off the hotplate if the radiant surface becomes excessively heated. If any cracks appear on the radiant surface, immediately disconnect the hob from the power source. Do not use any part of the cooktop until a new radiant surface has been properly installed.

Auto switch off

The cooktop will automatically switch off in the following situations: if no cooking time is set, if the hob has been left on without any operation, or if there has been no activity for two hours.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Disconnect the plug and wait until the stove is cooled down completely. Clean after every use.
