Installation
Contact the dealer to have the air conditioner installed.

  • Incomplete installation performed by yourself may result in a water leakage, electric shock, and fire.

Contact the dealer for repairs, maintenance and to reinstall the airconditioner.

  • Incomplete installation performed by yourself may result in a water leakage, electric shock, and fire.

Be sure to only use accessories made by LG which are specifically designed for use with the equipment and have them installed by a professional.

  • Improper installation or attachment of equipment or accessories could result in electric shock, a short circuit, leaks, fire or other damage to the equipment.

Do not install the unit in an area where there are flammable materials.

  • There is a risk of explosion that could result in serious injury or death.

Avoid direct sunlight and moist areas.
P ower
Consult with the installation contractor for cleaning or maintenance. Turn off all electrical power before doing any cleaning or maintenance.

  • There is a risk of water leakage, electric shock or serious injury.

Take care to ensure that the power cable cannot be pulled out or damaged during operation.

  • There is a risk of fire or electric shock.

Do not touch (operate) the product with wet hands.

  • There is a risk of electrical shock.

Operation
Be sure to use only those parts which are listed in the SVC parts list. Never attempt to modify the equipment.

  • The use of inappropriate parts can cause an electrical shock or fire.

Never sprinkle or spill water or liquids on unit.

  • Doing so could cause fire, failure of the product, or electric shock.

Never let the indoor unit or the remote controller get wet.

  • Water can cause an electric shock or a fire.

Do not let the air conditioner run while a door or window is open on a day with high humidity. This could result in excessive moisture and water damage.

  • Excess moisture may collect and cause water damage to walls or furniture.

If the product becomes soaked (flooded or submerged), contact the dealer.

  • There is a risk of fire or electric shock.

Maintenance
Tear apart and throw away plastic packaging bags so that children will not play with them.

  • Children playing with plastic bags are at risk of death by suffocation.

CAUTION
Installation
Installation work must be performed in accordance with the National Electric Code by qualified and authorized personnel only.
Do not install the product where it will be exposed to sea wind (salt spray) directly.

  • This can cause corrosion on the product. Corrosion could cause product malfunction or inefficient operation.

The Limited Warranty is void and of no effect, and LG will have no liability hereunder to any Customer or third party, to the extent any of the following occur: acts, omissions, and conduct of any and all third parties including, but not limited to, the installing contractor and any repairs, service or maintenance by unauthorized or unqualified persons.
Do not install the unit in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Operation
The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.
Do not press the screen using powerful pressure

  • There is a risk of product break-down or malfunction.

Maintenance
Contact the dealer for repair or maintenance.
Do not wipe the controller operation panel with benzine, thinner, chemical dust cloths, etc. The panel may get discolored or the coating may peel off. If it is very dirty, soak a cloth in water-diluted neutral detergent, squeeze it well and wipe the panel clean. Then wipe it dry it with another dry cloth.

  • There is a risk of damage to the plastic parts of the product.

Do not operate the air conditioner when using a room fumigation-type insecticide.

  • Failure to do so could lead to the chemicals becoming deposited in the unit, which could endanger the health of those who are hypersensitive to chemicals.

PRIOR TO OPERATION

Preparing for Operation
Contact an installation specialist for installation.
Usage

  1. Being exposed to the direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to the direct airflow for extended periods of time.
  2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices.
  3. Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects).  Such usage could damage the items.
  4. While using the remote controller, refer the user manual of that particular remote controller.

Service
For repair and maintenance, contact your authorized service dealer.

  • Contact an installation specialist for installation of this unit.
  • The air conditioner is not intended for use by young children or disabled individuals without supervision.
  • Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the air conditioner.
  • When the power cord needs to be replaced, replacement work should be performed by authorized personnel only using only genuine replacement parts.
  • Installation work must be performed in accordance with the National Electric Code by qualified and authorized personnel only.

PARTS AND INSTALLING THE CONTROLLER

Parts

LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - Parts Installing the Controller
Follow this procedure to install the controller
NOTE

  • Do not bury the wired remote controller in the wall (It may cause temperature sensor failure.) Cable spec : 3 conductor, 22 AWG, unshielded, twisted, and stranded.
  • Do not install cables longer than 50m, as this may cause communication problems.
  • Install the product so that it doesn’t bend or cause a clearance with the wall.
  • Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the product.
  • To avoid damage by static electricity, touch metal parts in the space before handling the remote controller to discharge the static electricity from the body.
  • If the indoor unit does not have screw terminals for field wiring, Extension cable PZCWRC1 is required. The connector of this cable connects to the indoor unit.
  1. Pull the cable from the wall and check the cable direction to install.

  2. Align the back cover and check the location of two mounting holes on the wall.

  3. Prepare by pulling out the communication cable through center hole or top hole. (Figure.2)

    • Depending on your environment, you can install the controller neatly by placing the wall plate on the wall and tightening the back cover.

  5. Connect the power cable to the terminal at the bottom of the remote controller as shown in the figure below.

  6. Place the lower part of the remote controller under the back cover, and fix the power cable to the back cover hook as shown in the figure below to the place where the power cable will come out of the back cover.LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - overview 1

  7. After fixing the power cable, press the upper part of the controller toward the back cover as shown in the figure to fix it. NOTE
    • Failure to follow the guidelines may result in part damage due to interference with the mechanical.
    Be careful not to let the cable pass over the wireless equipment.
    • Arrange the lines in three ways, depending on cable hole location as shown in the figure 2.

  8. Place top cover on back cover and gently press to close.

Using Group Control
Control by connecting 2 to 16 air conditioner indoor units 6 to one wired remote controller.LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - Using Group
Control

NOTE

  • Connect using the group control cable. (Model : PZRCWRCG3)
  • When using the group control, some advanced functions (excluding basic operation setting, fan speed, lock, and time setting) may be limited.
  1. Set one indoor unit to master and the remaining to slave.LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - Using Group Control 1 NOTE
    • For ceiling cassette and duct products, change the switch setting of the indoor PCB as above.
    • For wall-mount type and stand type product, change the master/slave setting with the wireless remote controller

  2. After completing the master/slave setting, turn off the power of the indoor unit, and turn on the power after 1 minute.
    NOTE
    • 2-Remo function is not supported.

STANDARD OPERATION

Installation Wizard

  1. The welcome screen will be displayed after synchronizing with the indoor unit. This may take up to 90 seconds.LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - screen 1

  3. The Check icon will change after the Installation Wizard menu is confirmed.

  5. The installation is finished once the Complete button is tapped.

Date & Time| Set the date, time, time format and time zone to display on the screen.
Language| Set the language you will use.
Temperature Unit| Set the temperature unit to be displayed on the screen.
Setpoint Type| Set the type of use of wired remote controller.
Screen Saver| To use the standby screen, change the Always on setting to on, then set the rest of the items in detail.
Edit Schedule Mode| Set the operating standards for each schedule mode.
Season Selection| Set a different schedule for each season.
Service Contact| If something goes wrong with the product, please register possible contact number. After editing the number, you must select the red Enter button to save it.

NOTE

  • If the installation of wizard is not complete, it will run at every booting.
  • After completing the installation of Wizard, you can check a list of items of installation of Wizard at Settings – Service – Setup.
  • Refer to the general settings and schedule page for detailed setup instructions.
  • Even if the power is turned off and on, the booting time may take up to 90 seconds.

Cool| O| DX| Set the desired temperature lower than the indoor temperature. It cools the room with a pleasant and fresh wind.
Heat| O| DX| Set the desired temperature above the indoor temperature. It provides warm air for the indoor.
Auto| O| DX| The product automatically provides a suitable temperature wind for indoor.
Dry| O| | You can dehumidify and cool at the same time. It is suitable for use when humidity is high.
Fan| O| | Air that has no temperature difference compare to indoor is released to circulate the indoor air.
Bypass| | General DX| Exhausted air is ventilated not through the total heat exchanger. It is suitable for use in seasons with small indoor/outdoor temperature differences or when indoor pollution is severe.
Heat Exchange| | General DX| Both supply air and exhausted air are ventilated through the total heat exchanger. It is suitable for use in seasons with large indoor/outdoor temperature differences.
Ventilation Auto| | General DX| Sense the indoor and outdoor temperature and automatically operate in optimum ventilation mode.
OFF| O| O| The product operation is stopped.
Emergency Heater| O| | After the emergency heater is set up for use, the operation mode can be selected in the emergency heating operation condition using the heater.
Air Purify| O| | The single operation of an air purifier.

NOTE

  • The reason why the cool air isn’t coming out immediately after cooling is started is because of its function to protect the compressor. After 3 minutes, the compressor operates, and a cold wind comes out.
  • Heating/automatic operation only works on heating and cooling models.
  • Depending on the outdoor unit cycle operation, the background color of the home screen is expressed in red for heater and blue for air conditioner.
  • The emergency heater is activated under emergency heating conditions after the installation and related settings.
  • Depending on the product, some functions cannot be set.

② Room Temperature
Displays room temperature.
③ Setting Temperature
Select the setting temperature or current temperatureicon.
The set temperature area for the current operation mode is displayed.
Set the desired temperature by adjusting the lever left and right.

Select the fan speed icon to select the desired fan speed from the options list.

⑦ Schedule Operation
Check the schedule information that is currently operating.

NOTE

  • When you enter Settings – General Settings – Lock menu, you can set/check the lock status.
  • When locking a function by remote controller or central controller, a lock icon is displayed.

  • The air purifying icon is only displayed when air purify is on and operating.
  • The total index shows the worst of the 3 dust state values as representative values.
  • You can go to the air purify display screen by Swiping the screen on the home screen.

Smart Care

  1. Please press the “Smart Care” button on the main screen to set the function.

NOTE

  • The Smart Care may not be displayed/work insome products.
  • The Smart Care only works when the product is cooling or heating.
  • You may feel that cooling and heating are weak due to the power saving operation of the Smart Care.

Monitoring Information

NOTE

  • At the top of the screen, humidity, CO2 concentration and outdoor temperature are displayed.
  • The product operation status is displayed in the center of the screen.
  • Alarm icons related to CO2 , oil change, UVnano and group error are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
  • UVnano is a compound word of “UV” and “nanometer”.

Displayed when CO2 concentration is about 940 ppm or higher when ventilation products are connected

| If repair is required while using the UVnano function, the UV icon is displayed at the bottom of the Home screen. If the UV alarm is displayed, contact LG Electronics Service Center for repair.

  1. Detailed settings other than set or cancel is required for this item. Tapping an area above the item changes the set ↔ cancel status and tapping an area below moves to the Setup Details page.
  2. The function can be used just by selecting set or cancel without detailed settings.

  • The color of the icons on the screen changes according to the setting status.

SCHEDULE

You can use the product by registering the schedule from the menu.

① Displays the seasonal information of the current operating schedule.
Schedule Information for the day of the week selected in number ② is displayed in number ③.
To change the schedule, please tap the corresponding area in number ③.
④ Brings up the settings menu related to the schedule.
⑤ This is the color legend of the schedule modes displayed in the schedule timetable.

NOTE

  • The basic mode is ‘Home’ mode.
  • Please refer to each item’s detailed page for the setting method.

  1. Please select the schedule mode.

  2. Please set the time for which the schedule is to be operated in.
    – When the start time is in the afternoon (PM) and the end time is in the morning (AM), the schedule after midnight will be set as a schedule in the following day.

  3. Please set the day of the week for which the schedule is to be operated in.

  4. Editing of the schedule will be completed and returned to the schedule status screen.

NOTE

  • Only one schedule mode can be set for any given time period.

Delete
Select the schedule event you want to delete from Timeline, and then press delete on the edit screen.

    2 Vacation schedule
    The Vacation is displayed while the vacation schedule is in operation.LG

    ② The vacation schedule operation will end when tapped.
    NOTE
    • The standard schedule will commence upon the completion of the vacation schedule.
    3 Schedule hold (temporary schedule)
    The currently running schedule is temporarily suspended and is temporarily operating in another mode.LG 18CGH-SGGF Air Conditioner - Standard schedule
3① Displays the types of schedule hold.
    ② Displays the schedule hold function duration and the time can be set when tapped.
    ③ Schedule hold will end immediately when tapped.
    NOTE

    • When the setting is changed for one of the four items (Mode / Set Temperature / Schedule Mode / Fan Speed), the Schedule hold function will begin.
    • The type of schedule hold is determined by which item setting was changed.
    • The operating duration of the schedule hold is based on the time set in the remote controller current time.
