It is important to follow these safety instructions for the safe operation of the handheld vacuum cleaner:

Charging and Operation:

About this instruction manual
This instruction manual includes important tips for your safety and the use of
the appliance. Failure to observe the instruction manual can result in
personal injuries or damage to the appliance. Keep the instruction manual in a
safe place. When passing the appliance on to a third party, also include the
instruction manual. Read the instruction manual completely before initial use
of the appliance.

Instructions for use
Safety instructions
Certain groups of persons
- This appliance may only be operated by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed about the safe use of the appliance and are aware of the dangers associated with its use.
- Children are not allowed to play with the appliance or stand or sit on it.
- Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the appliance and the mains adapter.
- The packaging material must not be used for play purposes. There is a risk of suffocation.
Connecting the appliance safely
The appliance is charged with electrical current. Thus, there is a risk of electric shock.
Therefore:
- Check the appliance and mains adapter for possible damage before use. Never operate a defective appliance or an appliance with a defective mains adapter.
- Only connect the mains adapter to sockets which match the specifications on the mains adapter type plate.
- Never attempt to repair the appliance or the mains adapter single-handedly. For safety reasons, any repairs to the appliance or mains adapter must only be carried out by our customer service. Return a defective unit to a specialist dealer for repair or contact SEVERIN customer service (see contact details in a separate warranty booklet or at www.severin.de).
- Do not immerse the appliance or mains adapter in water or other liquids, or treat with liquids. Keep the appliance and the mains adapter away from rain and wet conditions. Do not operate the appliance and mains adapter outdoors or in rooms with high humidity.
- Do not handle the appliance or mains adapter with wet hands. When unplugging the mains adapter from the socket, always pull directly on the plug.
- Make sure that the cable of the mains adapter is not kinked, pinched or run over and that it does not come in contact with sources of heat, humidity and sharp edges. Make sure that the cable of the mains adapter does not become a trip hazard.
- Before cleaning or servicing the appliance and before changing accessories, switch off the appliance and make sure that the mains adapter is not connected.
Safety when handling rechargeable batteries
If rechargeable batteries are handled improperly, there is a risk of injury
and explosion.
- The appliance contains rechargeable batteries that can only be replaced by trained personnel.
- Never replace the rechargeable battery with other rechargeable batteries or other non-rechargeable batteries. Never short-circuit rechargeable batteries, i.e. never touch both poles at the same time, especially not with objects that conduct electricity. Store rechargeable batteries so that they cannot be short-circuited by other rechargeable batteries or metal objects during storage.
- WARNING! To charge the rechargeable battery, only use the mains adapter included in the delivery. Never charge the rechargeable battery with another mains adapter. Only use the mains adapter included in the delivery to charge the rechargeable battery of this appliance.
- At the end of its useful life, return the appliance with the rechargeable battery to the nearest collection point without delay, thus ensuring safe and environmentally appropriate disposal. Never dispose of the appliance with the rechargeable battery in household waste.
- Never take the appliance with the rechargeable battery apart, expose it to high temperatures or throw it into the fire.
- In case of improper handling, liquid can escape from the rechargeable battery. Do not use the rechargeable battery if it is damaged or if it is leaking liquid.
- If liquid has escaped, avoid contact with the liquid.
- In case of contact with the liquid, rinse it off immediately with copious amounts of water. In case of after-effects (irrespective of type), consult a doctor.
Intended use
The appliance is intended solely for use in the private sphere.
The appliance should only be used for cleaning normally soiled surfaces,
short-pile carpets or upholstery.
Any other use is deemed improper and is forbidden.
In order to prevent injuries, fires and damage, the appliance must not be used to vacuum:
- People, animals and plants. Always keep appliance away from all body parts, hair and clothing. Do not vacuum near the head.
- Glowing, burning or smouldering particles (such as ash, coal, charcoal, cigarettes, matches).
- Explosive or highly flammable substances or toners.
- Sharp objects, such as glass splinters, nails or construction waste.
- Fine dust, such as plaster, cement, fine drilling dust or powder.
The following is also forbidden:
- Independent alteration or repair of the appliance or its mains adapter.
- Inserting objects into the appliance’s openings. The specially provided accessories are the exception to this rule.
- Use, storage or charging outdoors.
- Cover the vents on the appliance. Keep the vents free of lint, hair or similar.
- Use of the appliance without filters in place.
If the appliance is defective
Return a defective unit to a specialist dealer or customer service for repair (see contact details in a separate warranty booklet or at www.severin.de).
Installing and charging the appliance
Connecting the charging base
- The charging base must be within reach of a power outlet.
- Connect the charging plug of the mains adapter to the charging socket on the underside of the charging base. Pass the mains adapter cable through the cable guide on the rear of the charging base.
- Connect the mains adapter to the power outlet.
Charging the battery with the charging base
Use the charging base to charge the battery before first use. It is
recommended to charge the battery before each use, especially if the appliance
has not been used for a while. This extends battery life and ensures the
longest possible cleaning cycles.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off.
- Insert the appliance into the wall mount.
- The LED on the handle flashes blue. The charging process starts.
- When the battery is fully charged, the LED lights up green for 60 seconds and then goes out. When the battery is empty, the charging process takes approx. 4,5 hours.
TIP: You can leave the unit in the charging station when not in use to ensure it is always ready for use. If you use the appliance only occasionally or briefly, you should not leave the mains adapter permanently connected to ensure long battery life.
Choosing the attachment
Select one of the following attachments from the scope of delivery for
different applications:
TIP: Always adhere to the cleaning and maintenance instructions of the floor covering, carpet or furniture manufacturer. Only use undamaged nozzles. Damaged nozzles can scratch surfaces.
Vacuuming
Vacuuming is carried out with reduced power in Eco mode. The appliance
consumes less energy and the operating time of the rechargeable battery is
extended.
Use the button to toggle between Eco and Power modes.

Attach an additional attachment to the appliance if necessary.

Press the button to switch on the appliance.
The appliance vacuums in Eco mode.
The LED on the handle lights up blue.
Press the button to switch to Power mode if necessary. -
Vacuum the surface.

Press the button to switch off the appliance.

Empty the dust container and clean it (see “Cleaning the dust container and filter” ).
TIP: When the battery is low, the LED on the handle flashes orange.
When the battery level is too low, the appliance powers off automatically.
Charge the battery (see “3 Installing and charging the appliance”).
Cleaning and maintaining the appliance
Emptying the dust container
The dust container can hold only a limited amount of dirt. Empty the dust
container after each cleaning session when the suction power seems to be
reduced or when the dust container is filled to the MAX mark.
- Ensure the appliance is switched off and remove the attachments if necessary.
- Hold the appliance with its suction opening facing downwards.
- Press the release button on the back of the appliance and pull the dust container out forward (see Fig. I).
- Remove the filter unit (consisting of the strainer and pleated filter).
- Empty the dust container.
- Insert the filter unit into the dust container.
- Place the dust container on the guide rails at the front end of the appliance and slide it onto the appliance (see Fig. III).
Cleaning the dust container
You should clean the dust container and the filter unit when the suction power
drops with the battery fully charged.
- Unlock the dust container, remove and empty it (see “Emptying the dust container” ).
- Remove the filter unit from the dust container.
- Rinse the dust container with clean water.
- Turn the pleated filter anti-clockwise to disengage it from the strainer (Fig. II).
- Tap out the pleated filter and strainer over a dustbin and remove dirt with a soft brush if necessary.
- Rinse the strainer and pleated filter with lukewarm running water, if necessary, and then let them dry completely (at least 24 hours).
- Insert the pleated filter into the strainer and lock it in place by turning it clockwise ( ).
- Fit the filter unit into the dust container.
- Place the dust container on the guide rails at the front end of the appliance and push it onto the appliance (see Fig. III).
Cleaning the appliance
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off and is not on charge.
- Wipe the housing and handpiece with a slightly damp cloth and then rub them dry.
TIP: Do not use any sharp, abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes for cleaning.
Storing the appliance
- Store the appliance and accessories in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children.
- You can keep other attachments in the charging base when not in use.
Troubleshooting by yourself
To ensure that you do not encounter any problems, it is important to empty the dust container regularly and take this opportunity to check the filters and clean them if they are dirty. However, if you do encounter any problems with the appliance, use the following table to determine whether you can solve the problem yourself.
- Always switch off the appliance and detach it from the charging base before troubleshooting.

Disposal
Devices and batteries marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from household waste. These appliances and rechargeable batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled.
