  2. Pull out the 1 Rewinding Knob.
  3. Choosing a Shady spot, or at lect in the shadow of your own body, insert the end of the film into the ;take-up spool and bend it outwards about a V.,” ‘from the end. The file is thereby given a firm anchorage.
  4. Place to loaded cassette in the eft-hand spool chamber. Push in the Rewinding Krjob and replace the ack.
  5. Turn the Winding Knob to its sto, . Cock the shutter and release. Repeat twice ;and then set the center to number 1.

TAKING THE\ PICTURE

  1. Set the focusi4 ring to the corr4t distance.

  2. Choose exposure and diaphragm isettings. Set the cocking xlver.

  3. Hold the camera firmly and stea ily to the eye, and view the object to be photographed through the viewfinder.

  4. Press the shutter release slowly a d gently downwards. Never operate the release with a jerk. Provision for use of a cable release is made by means of the screw thread within the body release.
The lever to be found on the left below the shutter is purely a coupling between the shutter body release and the shutter. It ust not be used for purposes of releasing the shutter. The shutter release operates sole by downward pressure on the body release.

  5. Do not forget to wind on the filrni after each exposure. The REGULA , is fitted with an interlocking mechanism which prevents double exposures. At the same time the film cannotbi, wound on until an exposure has been made. Nevertheless, if for any {reason it is desired to make a double exposure’- for example in trick p4tography – the interlock mechanism may be operated separately by pushitigttlie Rewind Lever in the direction of the arrow. The signal at the side of tti, eifilm counter will then show white again.

RE-WINDING THE FILM

After the whole film has been expos41 it must be re-wound into the cassette. To effect this, the Rewind Lever is rXushed in the direction of th,e arrow with the left thumb and at the sameVtime the Rewind Knob is turned with o _ the right hand as indicated until the yVinding Knob stops turning and the film counter is back on 0 again.

If, the film is changed part way through, e. g. from colour film 416 to a partly exposed black and white film or(,which, say, 12 exposures hay( already been made, the latter may be wouncil on to its original number ti.t e. in this case 12) without it being necessary t4 release the shutter offer eoFh frame. It is only necessary to press the Revs/1nd Lever firmly in the direction of the arrow and then release it. Note, hiowever) that 1 or 2 additional frames should be wound on in order to avoid overlapping which may be caused by different placing of the film.
Product Overview

It must be pointed out expressly that, for all exposure settings including also, of course, for „B”, all shutters must first be cocked before release. In ‘le case of the Prontor-S shutter, the delayed action mechan-ism must never be operated when the shutter is set on „ 3″, as otherwise the shutter would be seriously damaged.

DEPTH OF FOCUS

Round the Distance Scale on the Objective there is a ring on which the aperture openings 2,8, 4, 5,6, 8, 11 and 16 are engraved from the middle point around either side. From these figures the depth .of focus can be read off for any aperture and all distances.

Examples:

  • Distance 10 feet, Aperture f/11 –
The picture will be sharp in focus from 6,5 to 20 feet.

  • Distance 3 meter, Aperture f/11 -The picture will bra sharp in focus from 2 to 6 meters.

FLASH SYNCHRONIZATION

On top of the shutter mere is a co-ailal socket on which a suitable plug and lead from a flash gun can be p)pced. On firing the shutter, contact is then made automatically (the shutter) speed should be set to 1/25 sec.,. The finder-shoe may he used for the flash gun or for b photometer.

CARE

The R E GU LA should be looked afteli: carefully. Do not touch the lens, if possible, with your fingers. Should this nevertheless happen, the lens should be cleaned immediately with a piece f clean, often-washed linen. Clean-liness of the interior of the camera is he best protection against scratched negatives. For this a soft hair paint br sh is invaluable. Before inserting a fresh film, both the nterior of the camera and the lens should be cleaned carefully.
