Product Usage Instructions

Maintenance:
Inspect and test your light and bracket apparatus before every ride. Keep your light clean and free of dirt, avoiding scratching the lens when cleaning. Do not use high-pressure spray, harsh abrasive, or corrosive materials to clean the light. Fully recharge the light once a month during extended periods of non-use.

Warnings:
Exposure Lights are powerful lighting systems. Avoid looking directly into the light or shining it at others. Do not charge the light in enclosed places or near combustible materials.

Charging:
Fully charge your light before first use. Locate the charging port by removing the silicone Storm Cap. Insert the Smart Charger or USB cable for charging from a mains or USB supply. The charging status is indicated by LED lights on the charger and the back of the light.

Light Operation & Battery Life:
To turn the light on, press the function button twice quickly. The light will turn on in the brightest mode. The LED on the back of the light indicates both mode and remaining battery life.

FAQ

• What should I do if my light is not working properly?
  Contact our service team before returning the product for repair. Ensure you have a valid returns number before sending the product back.

• How often should I recharge the light during periods of non-use?
  It is recommended to fully recharge the light once a month during extended periods of non-use to maintain battery health.

• Can I use any charger to recharge my Exposure Light?
  For optimal charging, it is recommended to use the Smart Charger or USB top-up cable provided by Exposure Lights. Using other chargers may affect the charging process.

CHARGING

• Fully Charge your light before first use.

• Locate the charging port by pulling away the silicone Storm Cap.

• Fully insert either the Smart Charger or USB top up cable and begin charging from a mains or USB supply respectively.

• If you are using the Smart Charger the LED on the charger will go red for the first 95% and then go green for the trickle charge.

• On the rear of the light the charge LED(s) will flash green to indicate charging and then turn solid green when the light is 95% charged, then the remaining 5% is trickle charged.
  NOTE: Sirius will require the 1.5A Smart Charger (EXPCHARGERSALES) from www.exposurelights.com, to initiate trickle charge.

• If using the Smart Charger, the charge status is indicated by the LED on the body of the charger (red = charging, green = 95 – 100% charged). The LED(s) on the back of the light may continue to flash, even when fully charged.
  *7 hours from 500mA source with supplied USB cable.

IMPORTANT:

• After charging is complete, remove the charging cable from the light (if the light is left connected with the charger off, the light can switch on)
• Replace the Storm Cap to prevent ingress of mud and grit
• Do not charge the light with the lens face down or in contact with any potentially combustible surface
• Do not charge the light in an enclosed space

LIGHT OPERATION & BATTERY LIFE

• Located on the back of the light is the stainless steel Function Button and a single LED. The LED indicates both mode and battery life remaining.
• To turn the light on press the function button twice in quick succession, the light will then turn on in the brightest mode.
• To switch between high, medium and low modes press the function button once, repeat this process to cycle through the modes.
• The LED on the back of the light will initially indicate the mode the light is in:
  • Green – High.
  • Amber – Medium.
  • Red – Low.
• After three seconds the LED on the back of the light will indicate battery life remaining. See Fuel Gauge table (right).
• To check battery life status with the light off, press the function button once. LED feedback will display current status, i.e. Green for 100 – 80%To turn the light off hold the function button down until the light emits two flashes and then release.
  NOTE: If you are using an Exposure Support Cell with the light then the LED will pulse green to indicate the light is charging.

LOW VOLTAGE FLASH (ZENITH, DIABLO, AXIS & JOYSTICK)

To warn the user when the light has 10% or less of battery life left the light will flash. It is then advisable, if it is safe to do so, to put the light in a lower setting to prolong battery life. See the OMS section for more detail.
NOTE: The light will continue to give off these warning flashes, regardless of setting, until its battery is charged back above 10%.

FLASH MODE

• To activate the Flash Mode first the light needs to be ON. Hold the Function button down and immediately release after the light emits a flash. The Flash mode can be activated from any of the constant brightness settings.
• To return to the constant mode press the Function Button once. NB: The light will then return to the brightest setting.
• In Program 7 the Flash Mode is replaced with the Morse Code for SOS. For more information about changing programs see the OMS section of this guide.

DAYBRIGHT (SIRIUS ONLY)

• We recommend using your Sirius in DayBright mode during daylight hours for your safety.
• To activate DayBright your Sirius will need to be in Program 1 (see OMS section) and then activate Flash Mode (see above).

HELMET MOUNTING (NOT SIRIUS)

Try the short bolt first – if this isn’t long enough use the longer bolt. Do not over-tighten.

NOTE: The angle of the light can be adjusted by rotating and tilting the ball joint.

HANDLEBAR MOUNTING

The shorter arm of the QR Handlebar Mount bracket faces the front. The tab-end of the silicone band fastens on the rear.
WARNING: Ensure that brake and other cables do not catch on the light or its bracket.
NOTE: This handlebar mount is not suitable for off road use. If you would like a handlebar bracket for off road use you will need the Exposure Handlebar Bracket Set, which is available from all good Exposure Stockists and www.exposurelights.com.

LANYARD FITTING (NOT SIRIUS)

For added security attach the lanyard (where supplied) to the light and loop the lanyard through a vent in your helmet or around the handlebars.

WARNING: If looping around a handlebar be sure to do so enough times that the light cannot fall into the front wheel.

OPTIMISED MODE SELECTOR (OMS)

• OMS allows you to select a run time tailored to your needs from several programs. Run time and lumen output are directly proportional, if you double the run time, you halve the lumen output. Etched onto the side of the light is a table showing the different modes and run times available within these different programs.
• Your light will be in Program 1 from new.
• To access the different programs, start with the light OFF.
• Hold the Function Button down, the light will emit a set of flashes, keep the Function Button held down and the LED on the back of the light, and the light itself, will start to regularly flash.
• For example, if you want to put your light in Program 4 then you release the Function Button after the fourth flash. The light will then remain in Program 4, regardless of if it is turned on or off, until it is reprogrammed.

TAP ACTIVATED POWER (TAP) – ZENITH, DIABLO & AXIS (NOT DIABLO SYNC)

• TAP allows the user to change the brightness mode of the light by tapping the body of the light, rather than using the Function Button.
• There are three sensitivities of TAP, for user preference.
• To activate TAP, or to change the sensitivity of TAP, you need to use access Program 9 using the Optimised Mode Selector (see OMS section).
• When you release the Function Button the LED on the back of the light will be green for 2 seconds. Whilst it is lit tap the back portion of the light to change sensitivity.
  • 1 tap: Most sensitive.
  • 2 taps: Medium sensitivity.
  • 3 taps: Least sensitive.
  • 4 taps: Deactivate TAP.
    WARNING: Only activate TAP when the light will be helmet mounted.

INTELLIGENT THERMAL MANAGEMENT (ITM)

Thermistors in the lights circuitry allow automatic temperature regulation, maintaining efficiency by minimising energy wasted as heat, to maximise brightness and burntime. This leads to a longer lifetime of the LEDs. When ITM is active the rear bi-colour LEDs will turn off until cooled; then the LED’s will turn on and the higher output will be restored.

POWER BANKS

• Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that power banks will work with our lights. If you plan to use one, we recommend using a power bank with a bigger capacity than the light and with the highest output possible, minimum 2A, ideally higher. We also recommend thoroughly testing your power bank with the light before planning any significant rides/events.
• The guaranteed way to add runtime is to use one of our Support Cells, which are available at: www.exposure-use.com.

MAINTENANCE

• Inspect and test your light and bracket apparatus before every ride.
• Keep your light clean and free of dirt, be careful when cleaning any mud or dirt from the lens to avoid scratching.
• Never use a high pressure spray or hose on your light.
• Do not use harsh abrasive or corrosive materials to clean your light.
• For extended periods when your light is not in use fully recharge the light once a month, as a long duration with no charge is detrimental to the cells.
