- Read the user manual for the camera for further information.
- In AF mode, it can sometimes be difficult to get autofocus to work, depending on the subject.
VIBRATION COMPENSATION
The VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism reduces blur caused by handheld photography.
How to use VC
To enable VC, set the camera’s steady shot function “ON” in the camera. If VC
is not needed, turn off the bump shot feature “OF”.
Press the shutter button halfway down and confirm that the viewfinder image is
stable before taking a picture.
Under the following conditions, VC is effective
- Dimly lit places
- Places where photography with flash is prohibited
- Places where tripods cannot be used
The VC may not operate adequately under the following conditions
- When a picture is taken from a vehicle that is shaking violently
- Shooting during excessive camera movement
- When shooting using a tripod
- Disable the steady shot setting in the camera when taking pictures during light bulb photography (long exposures). Otherwise, VC may cause a malfunction.
- The viewfinder image may blur immediately after the shutter button is pressed halfway. This is due to the principles of VC and not a malfunction.
- When using VC, the total number of images that can be recorded is reduced due to the camera’s power consumption.
- Disable the vibration compensation in the camera settings while shooting while the camera is secured with anything other than your hand (such as a tripod).
- You may feel the lens rattle when the camera is turned off or when the lens is removed from the camera. This is not a malfunction.
- Read the user manual for the camera for further information.

PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE
- An internal focusing (IF) system is used to reduce the minimum focus distance. The angle of view can be wider than on lenses with other focusing systems when shooting at a distance less than infinity.
- The lens hood or lens tube can block the light from the flash. It is recommended to take sample photos in advance.
- Differences in the display systems of cameras can cause them to show values that are different from the maximum and minimum values for aperture from the specifications. This does not indicate an error.
- Do not touch the lens-camera interface contacts ⑮ with your fingers. Otherwise, a malfunction may occur.
- If the temperature changes suddenly, condensation may form and cause malfunctions.
- The front lens is covered by a smudge-resistant coating. After removing dust on the lens surface with a blower or other means, dry it with a dry cloth.
- Never use benzene, thinner or other organic solvents to clean the lens.
- Store the lens in a clean and well-ventilated place.
- You can find more information about cleaning and storing the lens, compatibility with cameras and other support information at our website. https://www.tamron.com/global/consumer/support/
