Thank you for purchasing this Tamron lens. Before using your new lens, you
must read this user manual to ensure that you are using the lens correctly. It
is also important to read the manual for the camera you want to mount the lens
to.
Keep the user manual in a safe place after reading it.

ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY OF THE LENS
Remove the lens rear cover. Align the lens attachment mark ⑫ and the mounting
mark on the camera and insert then the lens.
Turn the lens clockwise until it engages.
Press the lens release button on the camera and rotate the lens in the
opposite direction to detach it.
- Turn off the camera before attaching or detaching the lens.
- Read the camera’s operating instructions for more information.
CHANGING FOCUS MODE
Select the desired focus mode on the camera.
When focusing manually, turn the focus ring ⑥ to achieve the desired focus.

- In AF mode, it may be difficult to get autofocus to work depending on the subject.
FOCUS ADJUSTMENT BUTTON (see Fig. 1)
Press the focus setting button ⑨ to use the function assigned by the camera. See the camera manual for more information.
CONNECTION PORT (see Fig. 1)
Lenses with connection port ⑪ can be connected to a computer using the TAMRON
connection cable (sold separately). After that, you can use the dedicated
application “TAMRON Lens Utility TM” to update the firmware and register
functions on the button to setting focus ⑨.

- Do not use the TAMRON connection cable (sold separately) for any purpose other than connecting the TAMRON lens equipped with a connection port, to a computer.
- Tamron assumes no responsibility for loss or corruption of data when using the TAMRON connection cable (sold separately).
ZOOM (see Fig. 1)
Turn the zoom ring ⑩ to adjust the focal length (zoom position) to the desired
position.
LENS COVER (see fig. 1, 2, 3)
The aperture ① can eliminate false light that can affect the
image.
Using the lens cover (see fig. 2)
- Align the cap attachment adjustment mark ② on the lens cap with the cap release mark ⑤ on the lens.
- Turn the lens cover ① in the direction of the arrow until the cover lock mark ③ is opposite the cover release mark ⑤.

Mount the lens cap ① upside down and turn it until it locks into place.
- Be aware that the periphery of the captured image may become darker if the lens cap ① is not attached properly.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
- An internal focusing (IF) system is used to reduce the minimum focus distance. The viewing angle can be wider than before lenses with other focusing systems when shooting at a distance less than infinity.
- The lens cap or lens drum may block the light from the flash. It is recommended to take a sample in advance.
- Differences between the cameras’ display systems may cause values other than the maximum and minimum to be displayed aperture values from the specifications. This is not an error indication.
- Do not touch the lens-camera interface contacts ⑬ with your fingers. It may cause malfunction.
- If the temperature changes suddenly, condensation may form, which may cause malfunction.
- The front of the lens is covered with a dirt-repellent coating. After you have removed the dust from the lens surface with a fan or on other way, wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Never use benzene, thinner or other organic solvents to clean the lens.
- Store the lens in a clean and well-ventilated place.

Disposal of electrical and electronic waste in private households
- Disposal of used electrical and electronic equipment (applicable in the EU and other European countries with separate collection systems)

Precautions for safe use of Tamron lenses
- For safe use, carefully read “Precautions for Safe Use of Tamron Lenses” and the manual before using the product.
- Once these have been read, they should be kept in a place where they can be easily reviewed as needed.
- Safety instructions are divided into the following two categories, depending on how dangerous it is.
This indicates instructions that if one does not follow or if they if followed incorrectly, could result in death or serious injury.
- Do not look at or take pictures of the sun or other strong light sources through this lens or one camera to which the lens is attached.
- Doing so may result in loss of vision, damage to the lens or camera, or fire.
- The lens must not be disassembled, repaired or modified.
- This may damage the lens or camera.
- Keep the lens out of the reach of small children.
- There is a risk of injury if the lens is dropped or dropped.
This indicates instructions that if not followed or if followed incorrectly, can lead to personal injury or physical damage.
- Do not leave the lens in direct sunlight or an extremely hot place such as inside a car. Doing this can damage the internal parts of the lens or cause a fire.
- Always put the lens cap on when the lens is not in use.

- Regarding the lens equipped with a connection port
- Place the lens in a stable place while adjusting the lens using the dedicated app (TAMRON Lens UtilityTM). Make sure the lens is not knocked over or bumped.
- When connecting the lens to a computer, a Tamron connection cable (sold separately) must be used separately).
- Do not touch the connection port with your fingers or a metal object. Avoid getting dust or water on the connection port. If the connection port is dirty, it can cause connection problems.
- Tamron will not be responsible for damages caused by an error, fire or other accident that may occur due to the use of accessories other than Tamron accessories. Note that in the case of a such damage will be charged for repair of the Tamron lens as it is not covered by the warranty.
