ATTACH AND REMOVE THE LENS

  • Remove the back cover of the lens. Align the lens attachment mark ⑫ and the mounting mark on the camera. Then insert the lens.
  • Turn the lens clockwise until it locks.
  • To remove the lens: Rotate the lens in the opposite direction while pressing the lens release button on the camera.
  • Turn off the power to the camera before attaching or removing the lens.

FOCUS MODE

CHANGE FOCUS MODE

  • Select the desired focus mode on the camera.
  • Set the desired focus manually by turning the focusing ring ⑥.

  • In AF mode, it may be difficult to use the function depending on the subject.

FOCUS ADJUSTMENT KNOB (see Fig. 1)

  • Press the focus setting button ⑨ to use the function that has been set by the camera.

CONNECTION CONTACT AND ZOOMING

Lenses with the connection connector ⑪ can be connected to a computer using the TAMRON connection cable (sold separately). Then you can, using the accompanying application “TAMRON Lens Utility TM”, update the camera’s firmware and register new functions to the focus setting button ⑨.

  • Do not use the TAMRON connection cable (sold separately) for any purpose other than connecting the TAMRON lens, equipped with a connection connector, to a computer.

ZOOMING (see fig. 1)

  • Turn the zoom ring ⑩ when you want to adjust the focal length (zoom position) to the desired position.

BACKLIGHT PROTECTION

BACKLIGHT PROTECTION (see fig. 1, 2, 3)

  • The lens hood ① can prevent unwanted light that could otherwise affect the image.

Use the lens hood (see fig. 2)

  • Align the hood attachment alignment marks ② on the hood with the hood release mark ⑤ on the lens.
  • Turn the lens hood ① in the direction of the arrow until the lens hood locking mark ③ matches the lens hood mark release of light shield ⑤.

Buckle up the lens hood (see fig. 3)

  • Attach the light shield ① in the reverse direction and rotate until it locks.
  • Be aware that the outer edges of the photographed image may become dark if the cover ① is not attached correctly.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

  • An internal focusing system (IF) is used to achieve minimum focusing distance. It is possible that the viewing angle will be wider than that which is used on lenses with other focusing systems when shooting at a distance shorter than infinity.
  • The hood or lens may block the light from the flash. We recommend that test photography be carried out in advance.
  • Differences in the display systems between different cameras may cause values ​​other than the maximum and minimum aperture values ​​to be displayed from the specifications. This is not an indication of an error.
  • Do not touch the lens-camera contact surfaces ⑬ with your fingers. Otherwise, it may cause errors.
  • If the temperature changes suddenly, condensation may occur and cause malfunctions.
  • The front lens is covered with anti-dirt coating. After removing dust from the lens surface with a blower or otherwise, wipe it off with a dry cloth.
  • Never use benzene, thinner or other organic solvents to clean the lens.
  • Store the lens in a clean and well-ventilated place.

Regulations for the safe use of Tamron lenses

  • For safe use, be sure to carefully read the “Regulations for safe use of Tamron lenses” and manual before using the product.
  • After you read them, keep them in a place where they can be easily read again if needed.
  • The precautionary instructions are divided into the following two categories depending on the degree of danger.

WARNING: This indicates instructions that one does not follow or one does performed incorrectly, may result in death or serious injury.

  • Do not look at or photograph the sun or a strong light source with the lens or in a camera to which a lens is mounted.
  • Doing so may result in loss of vision, damage to the lens or camera, or fire.
  • Do not disassemble, repair or modify the lens.
  • This may damage the lens or camera.
  • To keep the lens out of the reach of children.
  • There is a risk of damage to the lens if it is dropped or dropped.

CAUTION: This indicates instructions that have not been followed or that are incorrect, may result in bodily injury or physical harm.

  • Do not place the lens in direct sunlight or leave it in an extremely hot place such as inside a car.
  • Doing so may damage the internal parts of the lens or cause a fire.

    1. Place the lens in a stable place when adjusting the lens using the special application (TAMRON Lens Utility TM). Make sure it does not fall or hit the lens.
    2. Use a Tamron connection cable (sold separately) when connecting the lens to a computer.
    3. Do not touch the connector with your fingers or a metal object. Also avoid dust or water sticks to the connection plug. If the connection plug is dirty, it can cause connection problems.
  • Tamron is not responsible for damage caused by malfunction, fire or other accidents that may occur when you using a non-Tamron accessory. Please note that such damage will be repaired of the Tamron lens to be charged as it is not covered by warranty.
