Thank you for purchasing this Tamron lens. Before you start using our new lens, please read this manual manual to familiarize yourself with the operation of the lens. ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE LENS
Remove the rear lens cap. Align the lens mount mark ⑫ with the mark on the
camera, and then attach lens.
Rotate the lens clockwise until it locks.
To remove the lens, rotate it in the opposite direction while pressing the
release button on the camera.
- Turn off the camera’s power before attaching or removing a lens.
- For details, refer to the camera’s instruction manual.
FOCUS MODE
SWITCHING THE FOCUS MODE
Select the camera’s focus mode.
To focus manually, rotate the focusing ring ⑥ appropriately.
For details, refer to the camera’s user manual.
- In AF mode, it may be difficult to focus on a selected subject automatically.
FOCUS BUTTON (see Fig. 1)
- Press the focus button ⑨ to use the function assigned by the camera.
- Please refer to your camera’s user manual for more details.
CONNECTION PORT
CONNECTION PORT (see Fig. 1)
Lenses with connection port ⑪ can be connected to a computer using a TAMRON connection cable (sold separately). Then, using the dedicated “TAMRON Lens Utility TM” application, you can update the firmware and register the functions of the focus button ⑨.

- Do not use the TAMRON connecting cable (sold separately) for purposes other than connecting to a computer TAMRON lens equipped with a connection port.
- TAMRON is not responsible for any loss or corruption of data when using a TAMRON connecting cable (sold separately).
ZOOMING IN/OUT (see Fig. 1)
- Turn the zoom ring ⑩ to set the appropriate focal length (zoom position).
LENS COVER
LENS COVER (see Fig. 1, 2, 3)
- The cover ① can eliminate scattered light that adversely affects the quality of photos.
Using the lens hood (see Fig. 2)
- Align the hood attachment mark ② on the hood with the hood release mark ⑤ on the lens.
- Rotate the cover ① in the direction of the arrow until the cover lock mark ③ aligns with the release mark covers ⑤.
Put the lens cover aside (see Fig. 3)
- Attach the cover ① in reverse order and rotate until it locks.
- Please note that the periphery of the photo may appear darker if the hood ① is not attached correctly.
PRECAUTIONS DURING USE
- An internal focusing (IF) system is used to reduce minimum focusing distances. While when photographing objects closer than infinity, the angle of view may be larger than with lenses using different focusing systems.
- The lens hood or barrel may block the light emitted by the flash. We recommend taking a test photo.
- Differences between camera display systems may cause values shown to differ from those stated in the data technical maximum and minimum aperture opening values. This is not a fault.
- Do not touch the lens-camera interface contacts ⑬ with your fingers. Otherwise, a malfunction may occur.
- If the temperature changes suddenly, moisture may condense and cause a malfunction.
- The front lens is protected with a protective coating. After removing dust from the lens surface using compressed air or other agent, wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Never use benzene, thinner or other organic solvents to clean the lens.
- Store the lens in a clean and well-ventilated place.
