Quick Reference Guide

If you have used a radar detector before, you can refer to the
Quick Reference Guide on pages 6 and 7 for an overview of the new
features. Additionally, the EZ-Programming information on pages
14-19 provides a brief explanation of the new features. If this is
your first radar detector, it is recommended to read the manual in
detail to fully understand and utilize the Solo S2’s outstanding
performance and innovative features. Drive safely.

FCC Note

Modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could
void the user’s FCC granted authority to operate the equipment.

EZ-Programming

The Solo S2 radar detector offers 10 user-selectable options for
customization. The VOL and M (Mode) buttons are used to enter the
Program Mode, review current program settings, and change any
settings as desired. The words PGM, RVW, and CHG are located on the
front of the detector and are highlighted in blue graphics.

How to use EZ-Programming

  1. To enter Program Mode, press and hold one of the VOL buttons
    and the M button down for 2 seconds. The unit will beep twice and
    display the word “Program”.

  2. Press the RVW button to review the current settings. You can
    either tap the button to change from item to item or hold the
    button to scroll through the items.

  3. Press the CHG button to change any setting. You can either tap
    the button to change from setting to setting or hold the button to
    scroll through all the options.

  4. To leave Program Mode, simply wait 8 seconds without pressing
    any button. The unit will display “Complete”, beep 4 times, and
    return to normal operation.

Solo S2’s Factory Settings

To reset Solo S2 to its original factory settings, press and
hold the Mute and M (Mode) buttons while turning Solo S2 on. The
display will provide a Reset message, accompanied by an audible
alert, acknowledging the reset.

Toensurethatthesuctioncupsadheretothe windshieldfirmly,besuretokeepbothyour windshieldandthesuctioncupsclean.
2 ToadjustSoloS2onyourwindshield,usethe EasyMountadjustmentbuttonlocatedonthetopof theSoloS2,andslideSoloS2forwardorbackward toobtainalevelhorizontalposition. Wheninstalledandadjustedproperly,theback topedgeoftheSoloS2shouldrestsolidlyagainst yourwindshield.

CAUTION! Afewvehicles(includingsomePorsches)have windshieldswithasoftanti- lacerativecoatingon theinsidesurface.Useofsuctioncupswill permanentlymarthiscoating.Consultyour dealershiporthevehicleowner’smanualto determineifyourwindshieldhas thiscoating.
User’sTip YoucanleavetheEasyMountbracketinplaceon yourwindshield,andeasilyremoveSoloS2by pressingtheadjustmentbuttonandslidingSoloS2 offthemount.Again,besuretopositionthebracket whereitwon’tpresentahazardintheeventofan accident.Additionalmountsareavailable.

Power ToturnSoloS2on,simplypressthepowerbutton (PWR)locatedontheleftsideofthefrontpanel.To turnthedetectoroff,pressandholdthesamepower buttonforapproximatelytwo(2)seconds.
AutoPwr (programmable) Toconservebatterylife,theSoloS2will automaticallygoto”sleep”afterthevehiclehas stoppedmovingfor25minutes.Ifthevehiclestarts tomovewithinthenext30minutes,yourSoloS2 will”wakeup”andpromptyou,(bothvisuallyand audibly)toseeifyouwantitbackon.Ifso,simply pressanybuttonontheSoloS2,anditwillreturnto normaloperation. Ifyoudonotpressabuttonwithin15secondsof theprompt,thedetectorwillshutdowncompletely. ToturntheSoloS2backon,simplypressthePWR button.
Volume Control Toadjustthealerttonevolumelevel,pressandhold theupordownarrowbuttonslocatedtotherightof thedisplay.Oncethedesiredvolumelevelis achieved,simplyreleasethebutton.Thisvolume levelwillbestoredinmemory.

Power-On Indication / Alert OnceSoloS2’sstart-upsequenceiscomplete,oneof threeLEDs(Green,yellow,red)locatedbetweenthe PWRbuttonandthedisplaywillbegintoblink.This indicatesthatSoloS2isoperational,andindicates whichsensitivitymode(Highway,Auto,orCity)the detectorisin. IfyouareusingtheoptionalSmartCordfor12voltpower,youcanselectalternatepower-on displays.SeetheEZ-Programming(page16) sectionfordetails. Mute TheMutebutton,locatedonthetopcaseoftheSolo S2,allowsyoutosilencetheaudioalertduringa radarencounter. Tomutetheaudioforasinglespecificsignal, brieflypresstheMutebutton.Afterthatradar encounterhaspassed,themutewillautomatically resetandtheaudiowillalertyoutothenext encounter.
AutoMute YourSoloS2hasourpatentedAutoMutefeature. AfterSoloS2alertsyoutoaradarencounteratthe volumeyouhaveselected,theAutoMutefeaturewill automaticallyreducethevolumetoalowerlevel.
