WARNING: When using electrical products, basic cautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. Read these instructions.

  2. Keep these instructions safe.

  3. Heed all warnings.

  4. Follow all instructions.

  5. Do not use this apparatus near water.

  6. Clean only with a dry cloth.

  7. Do not block any of the ventilation openings. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

  9. An apparatus with Class I construction shall be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective connection. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

  10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point they exit from the apparatus.

  11. Only use attachments/accessories provided by the manufacturer.

  12. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

  13. The mains plug or appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable. The user should allow easy access to any mains plug, mains coupler and mains switch used in conjunction with this unit thus making it readily operable. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

  14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as when power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the ap- paratus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

  15. Never break off the ground pin. Connect only to a power supply of the type marked on the unit adjacent to the power supply cord.

  16. If this product is to be mounted in an equipment rack, rear support should be provided.

  17. Note for UK only: If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit do not correspond with the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
    a) The wire that is coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal that is marked by the letter E, the earth sym- bol, coloured green or coloured green and yellow.
    b) The wire that is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter N or the colour black.
    c) The wire that is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter L or the colour red.

  18. This electrical apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and care should be taken not to place objects con- taining liquids, such as vases, upon the apparatus.

  19. Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause a permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a sufficient time.

The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the following permissible noise level exposures: According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of the above permissible limits could result in some hearing loss. Earplugs or protectors to the ear canals or over the ears must be worn when operating this amplification system in order to pre- vent a permanent hearing loss, if exposure is in excess of the limits as set forth above. To ensure against potentially dangerous exposure to high sound pressure levels, it is recommended that all persons exposed to equipment capable of producing high

After unpacking your amplifier check that it is factory fitted with a three pin ‘grounded’ (or earthed) plug. Before plugging into the power supply ensure you are connecting to a grounded earth outlet.

If you should wish to change the factory fitted plug yourself, ensure that the wiring convention applicable to the country where the amplifier is to be used is strictly conformed to. As an example in the United Kingdom the cable colour code for connections are shown opposite.

INTRODUCTION

Digital guitar rigs offer the player an un-paralleled degree of choice when it comes to their rig set up.

In a digital world, virtually anything is possible.

Players have access to an astounding array of truly amazing sounding amplifiers, cabinets and effects.

Until recently harnessing the power of your digital guitar rig live has proven difficult

The reason being amplifying a digital guitar rig live requires something completely different than a traditional guitar amp setup.

To make a digital guitar set up work live you need something which faithfully recreates your studio sound, live and loud without adding any additional unwanted tonal content.

Step forward the new Laney LFR-112.

The Laney LFR cabinet is a full frequency, full range, powered cabinet, designed to deliver the varied tones of a digital uitar set up where it matters – to your audience.

Designed to look like a conventional guitar cabinet the LFR-112 is anything but conventional

Loaded with a custom designed 12″ Driver and a 1″ La Voce compression driver the LFR112 houses a 200W RMS power amp designed to deliver a dynamic, responsive, loud and accurate tone.

FEATURES

LFR-112 Rear Controls
Rear Controls

  1. INPUT: The LFR-112 features a female XLR Combi Jack line-level input marked INPUT. Balanced connections should be used as much as possible to reduce AC hum and interference, especially with long runs of cable.

  2. LEVEL: Controls the overall level of the LFR-112 cabinet. Turn the LEVEL control clockwise to increase gain and counter clockwise to decrease gain. Always observe the red CLIP LED on the amplifier panel. This LED lights when a signal is clipping. Set your input level 50 you have red CLIP LED blink occasionally and not constantly. A constant CLIP LED light indicates a gross overloading condition and should be avoided. Reduce the signal level if the CLIP LED lights or blinks constantly.

  3. HF-TRIM: Allows you to tailor the LFR-112 cabinets hi end response in relation to the environment youare in. Allows you to add or remove HF content to the signal without having to alter your patch parameters.

  4. ILLUMINATION: Allows you to turn on or off the cabinet LED illumination.

  5. POWER & CLIP LED: POWER LED- Indicates when the unit is tumed on and functioning.
GLIP LED: llluminates just before the amplifier begins to clip and distort. Adjust the level controls and signal level from your source so this illuminates only briefly on peaks in the music. Using the system with this LED on all or much of the time will result in poor sound quality and possible dam- age to speakers and electronics.

  6. GROUND LIFT: Removes o reduces ground-related noise arising from ground loops from using multiple units.

  7. DI-OUT: Balanced XLR-DI out for sending your LFR-112 signal direct to the PA – no need to mic your LFR-112. The output from the DI-OUT can be sent as FRFR o cabinet emulated if desired.

  8. EMULATION: Allows you to select one of three modes. FRFR – gives you FULL RANGE FLAT RESPONSE output – totally flat and uncoloured. You can also select either a 1×12 or a 4×12
cabinet emulation. The selected EMULATION mode also appears at the DI-OUT.

  9. AUXIN: Use this socket for connecting an external sound source – the volume of the sound source i controlled by its on-board volume control

  10. LINK OUT: Use this socket to connect to an additional LFR-112. Use a good quality TRS cable to ensure best quality.

  11. VOLTAGE SELECT: This is factory set to the correct voltage for the region the product is supplied to. If necessary it can be reset by removing the mains lead and then loosening (but not removing) the screws securing the cover. The cover can then be pivoted away from the switch which can be moved to select the alternate voltage. DO NOT reconnect the mains lead untilthe cover is replaced and secured.

  12. MAINS INLET SOCKET: IEC input for connection of an appropriate mains lead. Make sure the voltage indicated on the voltage selection switch is correct for your country!

  13. MAINS SWITCH: Turns the system on and off. Ensure the level controls are at minimum when switching on and off.
