Overview
This Quick Start Guide is an overview of the basic steps for using your Pico. For a more in depth discussion of these topics, see the manual.
Unpacking & Set Up, Loading Coffee, Grinding Coffee
-
Remove the grinder from its box, plug power cord into the bottom of the grinder, and place grinder upright on the counter.

Install grounds tray.

Install the portafilter fork by inserting the tabs into the two slots.

To adjust the portafilter fork, loosen the knobs and change the position until it holds the portafilter in place. Tighten the knobs to lock it into position.

Insert hopper, ensuring that the hopper lock indicator lines up in the unlocked position. Gently turn the hopper clockwise until the hopper lock indicator lines up in the locked position.

Remove hopper lid, fill hopper with coffee, and replace lid.

Slide the hopper gate lever to the right to open the gate and allow coffee to fall into the grinding chamber.

Plug grinder into power outlet and turn on power to the grinder using the power switch, located next to the grind adjustment collar.

Press Dose 1 button or Dose 2 button to select your dose.

Place the portafilter on the portafilter fork, and press it into the grinding switch to begin grinding coffee. The grinder will show the dose countdown and stop when finished.
Covertible Bottomless Portafilter Configuration

The portafilter fork comes preconfigured for standard spouted portafilters, standard bottomless portafilters, and convertible portafilters using spouts. However, when using the convertible portafilter in the bottomless mode, the rubber pads should be inverted.

Remove the rubber pads by sliding them forward and off of the fork. Pay close attention to the orientation of the pads as you remove them.

Exchange the position of the rubber pads to the opposite side of the fork.

Rotate each rubber pad 180 degrees.

Slide the rubber pads back on to the fork until fully seated.
in order to use the grinder correctly, the dose and the grind must both be set
Setting Grind
-
The size of the grind affects the speed at which espresso is extracted. Therefore, to adjust the total time of the brewing the grind needs to be adjusted.

To speed up the extraction if the shot is too slow, turn the grind adjustment collar to a higher number.

To slow down the extraction if the brewing is too fast, turn the grind adjustment collar to a lower number.
Setting Dose

The switches on the front of the grinder correspond with the 3 icons displayed on the screen. This allows for 2 doses to be programmed, as well as a continuous function for manually grinding.

To adjust either dose, press and hold the corresponding button for 2 seconds.

Use the + and – buttons to either increase time for a larger dose or decrease time for a smaller dose. When finished, press the OK button to save the dose.
Continuous Mode

The grinder can be used in continuous mode. This mode can be used to add a small amount of coffee if the dose is not enough.

In continuous mode, the grinder will grind coffee while the grinding switch is held, and stop when released.
Single Dose Mode

The continuous button can also operate in single dose mode. In this mode grinding begins when the continuous button is pressed and continues until pressed a second time.
Note : a dosing cup and its centering bracket are included for use in this mode. -
To change the continuous button to operate in single dose mode, press and hold the continuous button for 10 seconds. A dot will appear to the right of the dose indicating that it is operating in single dose mode.

To change back to continuous mode, press and hold the continuous button again for 10 seconds. The dot will disappear, indicating that the grinder is operating in continuous mode.
