IKEA PARASOLL Door Window Sensor User Manual

Get started

PARASOLL door/window sensor has a magnetic strip that detects when a door, window or cabinet is opened.

You can connect it to smart lighting to illuminate a space when the sensor is open or use DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app to receive notifications if the sensor opens while you are away from home.

Get started without DIRIGERA hub

  1. Open the back of the sensor, insert 1 x AAA battery and locate the Pairing button.
  2. Make sure the smart bulb you want to connect is set up and switched on.
  3. Hold the sensor less than 5 cm away from the smart bulb you want to connect.
  4. Press and hold the Pairing button on the sensor for at least 10 seconds. A red LED light on the sensor will flash and the smart bulb will blink twice when pairing is complete.
  5. Use the assembly instructions to mount the sensor in the chosen location and test it by opening and closing the magnetic strips.

Get started with DIRIGERA hub

Open the back of the sensor, insert 1 x AAA battery and close it again. Use the assembly instructions to mount the sensor, then download the IKEA Home smart app and follow the instructions on screen.

For Apple devices, download the app using the App Store. For Android devices, download the app using Google Play store.

Get to know your product

The sensor can be connected to smart lighting to illuminate a space when the magnetic strip on the sensor is open. This is perfect for lighting hard-to- reach areas, such as basements or storage rooms.

Connecting more smart lights

  1. Open the back of the sensor and locate the Pairing button.
  2. Make sure the smart bulb you want to connect is set up and switched on.
  3. Hold the sensor less than 5 cm away from the smart bulb and press and hold the Pairing button for at least 10 seconds. A red light on the sensor will flash and the bulb will pulse when pairing is complete.

Good to know

  • You can connect a maximum of 10 smart lights to a single sensor.
  • The sensor has a magnet at each end, so there is no right or wrong way round. Make sure the sensor and magnetic strip are mounted within 5 mm of each other.
  • An LED light will blink twice when the sensor is opened, and blink once when the space is closed again.
  • The sensor can be mounted outdoors if the environment is sheltered from heavy rain.

Battery care

When the battery gets low, a red LED light on the sensor will blink 3 times.

DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app users can view battery status in the app and receive notifications when the battery starts to run out.

Changing the battery

Open the battery lid and replace with a new AAA/HR03 battery.

Recommended battery type:

1 x IKEA LADDA 750 (AAA/HR03, 1.2V, 750mAh, Ni-MH) (not included)

Factory reset

To reset and remove all connected products, quick-press the Pairing button 4 times within 5 seconds. A LED light strip on the sensor will blink and then shine continually once the reset is complete.

WARNING!

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.

IMPORTANT!

  • The sensor is for indoor use only and can be used in temperatures ranging from 0ºC to 45ºC.
  • Do not leave the sensor in direct sunlight or near any heat source, as it may overheat.
  • The range between the sensor and the receiver are measured in open air.
  • Different building materials and placement of the units can affect the wireless connectivity range.
  • The sensor will not work if mounted on a magnetic metal surfaces.

Care instructions

To clean the product, wipe with a soft cloth moistened with a little mild detergent. Use another soft, dry cloth to wipe dry. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents as this can damage the product.
