Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started
To get started with the RP1600X, follow these steps:

Unbox the device and ensure all the items in the package are
present. -
Insert the battery into the device.

Connect the adapter to the device and plug it into a power
source. -
Press and hold the Power button to turn on the device.
Basic Function
The RP1600X has various basic functions that can be accessed
using the buttons on the device. The front buttons and side buttons
allow you to navigate through the device’s interface and perform
actions. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on
using each button.
Application
The RP1600X can be used for various applications. Install the
required applications on the device and follow the specific

Using the Camera

Wireless

Getting Started – Installing the Cards

There are three slots to insert SAM, micro SD in the back of your device.
SAM card is required for security transactions that are made through your
device.
It validates the device and the credit cards. It also includes the company
information.
Micro SDXC card is required for external storage.
Installing the Cards
SAM Card (2 Slot) : Slide the SAM Card toward the top of the device like
direction of an arrow A.
Micro SD Card : Slide the Micro SD Card toward the top of the device like
direction of an arrow B.
Removing the Cards
SAM Card : To remove the cards, pull and remove the card completely. Micro SD
Card : To remove the cards, push the inserted card once. The
card is released with a click sound. Pull and remove the card completely.

Getting Started – Installing Battery
Open
RP1600X Series uses a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery
Standard 1860mAh, Middle 2860mAh, Extended 4000mAh
Install the provided battery before starting to charge the device.
Installing the Battery
Insert the battery, top first, into the battery compartment in the back of the
device.
Press the battery down into the battery compartment . Lock the Battery Release
Latch. When removing the battery cover, be careful not to damage your
fingernail.

Getting Started – Charging & Cradle Interface
Before using the RP1600X device for the first time, charge the main battery
until the amber. Charging/Battery Status LED remains lit. To charge the
device, use a cable or a cradle with the appropriate power supply.
To charge with the cradle Place the device on the cradle as illustrated.
Connect the power adapter with the cradle and plug it into a power outlet.
Connect the charging accessory to the appropriate power source. Insert the
device into a cradle or attach to a cable. The device begins charging. The
Charging/Battery Status LED red while charging, then turns LED green when
fully charged. You can also take out the battery from the device and charge it
separately on a cradle.

Caution. Do not use any other charger except one (5.0V / 3.5A) provide. Make
sure to handle it gentle; damage with excessive force may cause no warranty.
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used
batteries according to the instructions. When attached battery is completely
discharged, plug charger to main body, then reset the device to check if
screen is back on.

Getting Started – Power Interface
Power on the Device
After inserting the battery or when turning the device on for the first time,
the splash screen displays for about a minute as the device boots, then the
main screen appears. Press and hold the power button approximately 3 seconds
to turn the device on while the device is charging on a cradle.
Resetting the Device
You rarely need to reset the computer. If the computer or an application lock
up, you may need to reset the device. The device uses the configuration
currently saved in flash memory during the boot process. There are three ways
to reset the device If the device is not functioning properly, perform a reset
first. If the device still does not respond, perform a hard reset.
Soft Reset
Press and hold the power button to perform a Soft Reset.
Restart
Press the reset button to perform a Soft Reset.
Using the stylus pen, press the reset button.

Hard Reset
Press and hold the power button for approximately 7 seconds to perform a Hard
Reset. Perform a Hard Reset if a Soft Reset is not working
Factory Reset
Follow the below steps to perform a Factory Reset. Path : Settings > System >
Advanced > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > Erase all data
Power off the Device
Press the Power button until the menu appears. Touch Power off
How to change a battery for hotswap
Battery hot swap is available selecting Battery Swap menu under the Power
Menu. When you select the Battery Swap menu, Display will turn off then keypad
LED will turn on within 10
seconds. After Keypad LED turns on, change a battery and then push the power
button. > Done
Caution. The Factory reset process erases the device memory, including all
applications and data files in the object store.

Getting Started – Manage Battery
Battery Usage
Prior to checking the battery charge level, remove the RP1600X from any AC
power source. (cradle or multi gender)
The Battery screen lists which applications consume the most battery power.
Also use it to turn off applications that were downloaded if they are
consuming too much power.
Path : Settings > Battery The Battery screen lists the applications using the
battery. The discharge
graph at the top of the screen shows the rate of the battery discharge since
last charged (short periods of time when connected to a charger are shown as
thin green lines at the bottom of the chart), and how long it has been running
on battery power. Touch an application in the Battery screen to display
details about its power consumption. Different applications display different
information. Some applications include buttons that open screens with settings
to adjust power use.
Low Battery Notification
When the battery charge level drops below 10% and 5%, the device displays a
Low Battery Notification.
When the battery charge level drops below 2%, the device displays a Low
Battery Notification and turns off automatically.

Automatic Settings
Data & Time
The date and time is automatically synchronized using a NITZ server when the
RP1600X is connected to a network. The user is only required to set the time
zone or set the date and time when if the wireless LAN does not support
Network Time Protocol (NTP).
Language / Input
English is the default setting, and you can set language and input from the
Settings menu.
Manual Settings
Data & Time
Settings > System > Date & time > “Use network-provided time / Use network-
provided time zone” to disable automatic date and time synchronization.
Set date > Move the sliders up and down to select the month, date and year.
Set Time > Move the sliders up and down to select the hour, minutes and part
of the day. Select time zone > Select the current time zone from the list.
Language / Input
Menu > Language & input > Select the Language form the list SIP is changed to
the basic form according to the language setting.

Getting Started – Display
Brightness
Settings > Display > Brightness level In the Brightness dialog box, touch Auto
to set the RP1600X to automatically adjust the brightness
using the built-in light sensor. Deselect Auto to set the brightness manually.
Use the slider to set a brightness level.
Screen Rotation
By default, screen rotation is disabled. To enable screen rotation : Settings
Display > Advanced > Auto-rotation screen Uncheck Auto-rotate screen to set the RP1600X to automatically switch orientation when the RP1600X
is rotated. The Home screen does not rotate

Basic Function – Home Screen
You can personalize the panels with your choice of shortcuts, apps, folders
and widgets. The Favorites tray, located at the bottom of the screen, is
visible from any of the home screen panels. You can modify the apps in the
Favorites tray to include the apps you use most.
You can see all the apps available on your device by sliding the screen from
bottom to top.
Notifications and status indicators appear at the top of the screen.

You can press the Home button on the front of the device to return to the Home
screen from any open app.

Status bar
The Status bar displays the time, notification icons (left side), and status
icons (right side). If there are more notifications than can fit in the Status
bar, a dot displays indicating that more notifications exist. Swipe down from
the Status bar to open the Notification panel and view all notifications and
status.

Managing Notification
Notification icons report the arrival of new messages, calendar events,
alarms, and ongoing events.
When a notification occurs, an icon appears in the Status bar with a brief
description.
To view a list of all notifications, open the Notification panel by dragging
the Status bar down from the top of the screen.
To respond to a notification, open the Notification panel and then touch a
notification. The Notification panel closes and the corresponding app opens.
To manage recent or frequently used notifications, open the Notification panel
and then touch Manage notifications.
Touch the toggle switch next to an app to turn off all notifications, or touch
an app for more notification options.
To clear all notifications, open the Notification panel and then touch CLEAR
ALL. All eventbased notifications are removed. Ongoing notifications remain in
the list.
To close the Notification panel, swipe the Notification panel up.

Basic Function Turning Airplane Mode ON/OFF
Turn Airplane Mode on to disable all the device radios that transmit data. You
can enable Airplane mode in the Quick access panel or Settings. When Airplane
Mode is turned on, shows on the status bar.

Basic Function USB Communication
Connect the device to a host computer to transfer files between the device and
the host computer. When connecting the device to a host computer, follow the
host computer’s instructions for connecting and disconnecting USB devices, to
avoid damaging or corrupting files. The device supports USB 2.0(Hi-Speed)
communication. Transferring Files
Use Transfer files to copy files between the device and the host computer.
Connect the device to a host computer using a USB accessory. On the device,
pull down the Notification panel and touch Charging this device via USB. Touch
File Transfer. On the host computer, open Files app. Locate the device as a
device. Open the SD card or the Internal storage folder. Copy files to and
from the device or delete files as required
Disconnecting from the Host Computer
Carefully follow the host computer’s instructions disconnect USB devices
correctly to avoid losing information. On the host computer, unmount the
device.

Basic Function Using the Touchscreen
RP1600X can support both type touch panel, resistive and capacitive.
Tab
Select items on the screen. Type letters and symbols using the on-screen
keyboard. Press on-screen buttons.
Tap and Hold
An item on the Home screen to move it to a new location or to the trash. An
item in Apps to create a shortcut on the Home screen. The Home screen to open
a menu for customizing the Home screen. An empty area on the Home screen until
the menu appears.
Drag
Tap and hold an item for a moment and then move finger on the screen until
reaching the new position.
Swipe : Move finger up and down or left and right on the screen to
Unlock the screen. View additional Home screens. View additional application
icons in the Launcher window. View more information on an applications screen.
Double-tap
Tap twice on a web page, map, or other screen to zoom in and out.
Pinch
In some applications, zoom in and out by placing two fingers on the screen and
pinching them together (to zoom out) or spreading them apart (to zoom in).

Using the Camera
Overview
Device are equipped with 13.0 Megapixel auto focus cameras to provide easy
integration of color picture and video capture into business application. The
camera lens and camera flash are located on the back panel of the device.
Pictures and videos captured using the Camera app are stored on the internal
memory in the DCIM folder under Camera(Internal storage/DCIM/Camera). You can
copy your pictures and videos to a computer or view, edit, and share your
pictures and videos using the Gallery app.

To open the Camera app, touch camera on the Home screen.

Using the NFC
NFC/HF RFID is a short-range wireless connectivity technology standard that
enables secure transaction between a reader and a contactless smartcard. The
technology is based on ISO/IEC 14443 type A and B and ISO/IEC 15693 standards,
using the HF 13.56MHz unlicensed band. Reading NFC Card
Enable NFC Path > Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > NFC
Launch an NFC enabled application. Move RP1600X close up the NFC card until
the device detects the card. Hold the card steadily until the transaction is
complete (usually indicated by the application).
Since NFC antenna is integrated in the rear side of the battery, read the
contactless card as shown. NFC reading distance depends on the Card type.

Using the Iris Reader
The RP1600X performs high-speed dual iris capture and outputs ISO standards
compliant images. Both eyes are simultaneously captured. Provides an easy user
interface, which makes the process easier for the user and operator. Also
equipped with an orientation sensor and left and right iris capture management
controls which can be selected prior to or during the process After running
the iris app, keep the device and both eyes apart about 11 to 14 inches and
wait until both iris
are recognized.

Wireless Wireless Local Area Network
Wireless local area networks (WLANs) allow the device to communicate
wirelessly inside a building. Before using the device on a WLAN, the facility
must be set up with the required hardware to run the WLAN. The infrastructure
and the device must both be properly configured to enable this communication.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
Go to Settings. Touch Network & internet. Touch Wi-Fi to open the Wi-Fi
screen. The device searches for WLANs in the area and lists them. Scroll
through the list and select the desired WLAN network. For open networks, touch
profile once or press and hold and then select Connect or for secure networks
enter the
required password or other credentials then touch Connect. See the system
administrator for more information. In the Wi-Fi setting field, Connected
appears indicating that the device is connected to the WLAN.
Removing a Wi-Fi Network
Go to Settings. Touch Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Scroll down to the bottom of
the list and touch Saved networks. Touch the name of the network. Touch
FORGET.

WLAN Configuration
This section provides information on configuring Wi-Fi settings. Configuring a
Secure Wi-Fi Network Go to Settings Touch Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Slide
the switch to the ON position. The device searches for WLANs in the area and
lists them on the screen. Scroll through the list and select the desired WLAN
network. Touch the desired network. If network security is Open, the device
automatically connects to the
network. For all other network security, a dialog box appears. If network
security is WPA/WPA2-Personal, or WEP, enter the required password and then
touch
Connect. If network security is WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA3-Personal, or WEP,
enter the required password and
then touch Connect. If network security is WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise
Touch the EAP method drop-down list and select one of the following: PEAP,
TLS, TTLS, PWD, SIM, AKA, LEAP Fill in the appropriate information. Options

Manually Adding a Wi-Fi Network Manually add a Wi-Fi network if the network
does not broadcast its name (SSID) or to add a Wi-Fi network when out of
range.
Go to Settings. Touch Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to
the On position. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Add network. In
the Network name text box, enter the name of the Wi-Fi network. In the
Security drop-down list, set the type of security to: None, Enhanced Open,
WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA3-
Personal, WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise If the network security is None or Enhanced
Open, touch Save. If the network security is None, touch Save. If the network
security is WEP, WPA3-Personal,or WPA/WPA2-Personal, enter the required
password and then touch
Save. If the network security is WEP or WPA/WPA2-Personal, enter the required
password and then touch Save. If network security is WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise:
Touch the EAP method drop-down list and select one of the following: PEAP,
TLS, TTLS, PWD, SIM, AKA, AKA`, LEAP Fill in the appropriate information.

Configuring for a Proxy Server
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary for requests from
clients seeking resources from other servers.
A client connects to the proxy server and requests some service, such as a
file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different
server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering
rules.
It is important for enterprise customers to be able to set up secure computing
environments within their companies, making proxy configuration essential.
Proxy configuration acts as a security barrier ensuring that the proxy server
monitors all traffic between the Internet and the intranet.
This is normally an integral part of security enforcement in corporate
firewalls within intranets. Go to Settings. Touch Network & Internet > Wi-Fi .
Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the On position. In the network dialog box, select
and touch a network. If configuring the connected network, touch to edit the
network details and then touch the down arrow to hide the
keyboard. Touch Advanced options. Touch Proxy and select Manual. In the Proxy
hostname text box, enter the address of the proxy server. In the Proxy port
text box, enter the port number for the proxy server. In the Bypass proxy for
text box, enter addresses for web sites that are not required to go through
the proxy server.
Use a comma “,” between addresses. Do not use spaces or carriage returns
between addresses. If configuring the connected network, touch Save otherwise,
touch Connect. Touch Connect.

Configuring the Device to Use as Static IP Address By default, the device is
configured to use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to assign an
Internet protocol (IP) address when connecting to a wireless network. Go to
Settings. Touch Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the On
position. In the network dialog box, select and touch a network. If
configuring the connected network, touch to edit the network details and then
touch the down arrow to hide the
keyboard. Touch Advanced options. Touch IP settings and select Static. In the
IP address text box, enter an IP address for the device. If required, in the
Gateway text box, enter a gateway address for the device. If required, in the
Network prefix length text box, enter the prefix length. If required, in the
DNS 1 text box, enter a Domain Name System (DNS) address. If required, in the
DNS 2 text box, enter a DNS address. If configuring the connected network,
touch Save otherwise, touch Connect.

Wi-Fi Preferences Use the Wi-Fi preferences to configure advanced Wi-Fi
settings. From the Wi-Fi screen scroll down to the bottom of the screen and
touch Wi-Fi preferences. Turn on Wi-Fi automatically – When enabled, Wi-Fi
automatically turns back on when near high-quality saved networks. Open
network notification – When enabled, notifies the user when an open network is
available. Additional settings – Touch to view additional Wi-Fi settings.
Advanced – Touch to expand options. Additional settings – See Additional
Settings. Install Certificates Touch to install certificates. Wi-Fi Direct –
Displays a list of devices available for a direct Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi
Direct Wi-Fi Direct devices can connect to each other without having to go
through an access point. Wi-Fi Direct devices establish their own ad-hoc
network when required, letting you see which devices are available and choose
which one you want to connect to. Go to Settings. Touch Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi
preferences > Advanced > Wi-Fi Direct. The device begins searching for another
Wi-Fi Direct
device. Under Peer devices, touch the other device name. On the other device,
select Accept. Connected appears on the device. On both devices, in their
respective Wi-Fi Direct screens, the other device name
appears in the list.

Wireless Bluetooth
Bluetooth-equipped devices can communicate without wires, using frequency- hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) radio frequency (RF) to transmit and receive data in the 2.4 GHz Industry Scientific and Medical (ISM) band (802.15.1). Bluetooth wireless technology is specifically designed for short-range (10 meters (32.8 feet) ) communication and low power consumption.
Devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information (e.g., files, appointments, and tasks) with other Bluetooth enabled devices such as printers, access points, and other mobile devices.
Bluetooth Profiles
The device supports the following Bluetooth services
Service Discovery Protocol (SDP) : Handles the search for known and specific services as well as general services.
Serial Port Profile (SPP) : Allows use of RFCOMM protocol to emulate serial
cable connection between two Bluetooth peer devices. For
example, connecting the device to a printer.
Object Push Profile (OPP) : Allows the device to push and pull objects to and from a push server.
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) : Allows the device to stream
stereo-quality audio to a wireless headset or wireless stereo
speakers.
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) : Allows the device to control A/V
equipment to which a user has access. It may be used
in concert with A2DP.
Personal Area Network (PAN) : Allows the use of Bluetooth Network
Encapsulation Protocol to provide L3 networking capabilities over a
Bluetooth link. Only PANU role is supported.
Human Interface Device Profile (HID) : Allows Bluetooth keyboards, pointing
devices, gaming devices and remote monitoring devices
to connect to the device.
Headset Profile (HSP) : Allows a hands-free device, such as a Bluetooth headset, to place and receive calls on the device.
Hands-Free Profile (HFP) : Allows car hands-free kits to communicate with the device in the car.
Dial-up Networking (DUN) : Allows the device to access the Internet and other dial-up services using a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.

Out of Band (OOB) : Allows exchange of information used in the pairing
process. Pairing is completed using the Bluetooth radio, but
requires information from the OOB mechanism. Using OOB with NFC enables
pairing when devices simply get close, rather than requiring a lengthy
discovery process.

Bluetooth Radio Power
Turn off the Bluetooth radio to save power or if entering an area with radio
restrictions. When the radio is off, other Bluetooth devices cannot see or
connect to the device. Turn on the Bluetooth radio to exchange information
with other Bluetooth devices (within range). Communicate only with Bluetooth
radios in close proximity.
Turning the Bluetooth radio On or Off
Path : Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth Touch
the Bluetooth OFF/ON toggle box off to turn the radio on. Once the Bluetooth
radio is activated, the device automatically starts searching for discoverable
devices.
Pairing and trusted devices
The device supports pairing with other devices using Bluetooth technology.
Pairing happens during general connection setup. Paired devices are “trusted”
device. This means that there is unrestricted access to all services
(including services that require authorization and authentication).

Connecting to other Bluetooth devices
The device can receive information from discovered devices without pairing.
However, once paired, the device and a paired device exchange information
automatically when the Bluetooth radio is on. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled
on both devices. Ensure that the Bluetooth device to discover is in
discoverable mode. Ensure that the two devices are within 10 meters (32.8
feet) of one another. Swipe down from the Status bar to open the Quick Access
panel. Touch and hold Bluetooth. Touch Pair new device. The device begins
searching for discoverable Bluetooth devices in the area and displays them
under Available devices. Scroll through the list and select a device. The
Bluetooth pairing request dialog box appears. Touch Pair on both devices. The
Bluetooth device is added to the Paired devices list and a trusted (“paired”)
connection is established.
Changing the Bluetooth name
By default, the device has a generic Bluetooth name that is visible to other
devices when connected. Go to Settings. Touch Connected devices > Connection
preferences > Bluetooth. If Bluetooth is not on, move the switch to turn
Bluetooth on. Touch Device name. Enter a name and touch RENAME.

Connecting to a Bluetooth device
Once paired, connect to a Bluetooth device. Go to Settings. Touch Connected
devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth. In the list, touch the
unconnected Bluetooth device. When connected, Connected appears below the
device name.
Selecting Profiles on the Bluetooth device
Some Bluetooth devices have multiple profiles. Go to Settings. Touch Connected
devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth . In the Paired Devices list,
touch next to the device name. Turn on or off a profile to allow the device to
use that profile.
Unpairing a Bluetooth device
Unpairing a Bluetooth device erases all pairing information. Go to Settings.
Touch Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth. In the Paired
Devices list, touch next to the device name. Touch FORGET.

By default, the RP1600X is configured to obtain IP addresses automatically via
DHCP server. This means that in most cases you would simply plug-and-play the
device. Connecting the device to the ethernet accessories
Plug the ethernet accessories(ethernet cradle, 4 slot ethernet cradle,
ethernet multigender) into the RJ45 connector on the back of the ethernet
accessories.
Plug the ethernet cable into the network. When an Ethernet connection is
established the status icon at the top of the screen

Static IP
Connect Ethernet. Path : Settings > Network & internet > Ethernet > Statac IP
Select Static IP under Connection Type, and then input the IP address and any
additional
information based on you network configuration.

Settings Security
Use this Security settings to set a lock screen and change settings to secure
your device. Path : Settings > Security Screen lock
None : The screen is unlocked at all times. When you press the Power button,
the Home screen appears.
Swipe : Drag the lock icon and release to unlock. Pattern : Draw a pattern to
unlock. PIN : Enter a PIN to unlock. Password : Enter a password to unlock.
Configuring Credential Storage Settings
Configure credential storage from the device settings. Go to Settings. Touch
Security > Encryption & credentials . Select an option.
Touch Trusted credentials to display the trusted system and user credentials.
Touch User credentials to display user credentials. Touch Install a
certificate to install a secure certificate from the microSD card or internal
storage. Touch Clear credentials to delete all secure certificates and related
credentials.
