The EBS RUNSTEN is a versatile power supply unit designed for musicians and pedalboard setups. It features multiple USB and DC outputs to power various devices and pedals. The unit also includes special adaptors for extended use and flexibility.
Product Usage Instructions
Connecting Pedals:
To connect your pedals to the RUNSTEN, we recommend using the EBS DC-1 cables. These cables are available in different lengths from EBS dealers and online stores. Connect your pedals using the included cables or the desired lengths.
Powering the RUNSTEN:
Plug the dedicated 24V input power supply into the Input Power Socket on the RUNSTEN. The power supply is universal and compatible with voltages ranging from 100V to 230V.
DC Output Selection:
The RUNSTEN provides both 9V and 12V DC outputs. Each output has a corresponding selector switch marked with the matching output number. Select between 9V or 12V DC by flipping the respective switch.
Extended Use of the RUNSTEN:
The RUNSTEN offers additional capabilities for specific requirements:
Increasing Voltage:
For situations where 9V or 12V DC is not enough, you can increase the voltage by using the included DC1-48 90/0 SER cable. Connect the Red contacts of the cable to two outputs on the RUNSTEN. The total voltage will be the sum of the two connected outputs, delivering up to 24V DC.
Increasing Current:
If you need extra current, use the included DC1-48 90/0 PAR cable. Connect the two Black contacts that are close together to two outputs on the RUNSTEN. The total current will be the sum of the two connected outputs, delivering up to 1800 mA. Note that both outputs must be set to the same voltage to avoid current surge and potential damage.
Special Adaptors:
The RUNSTEN includes special adaptors for various requirements:
- 2.5 mm Cable: Use this cable if your pedal’s DC power input has a 2.5 mm plug. Connect the BLACK contact to the RUNSTEN and the GRAY contact to your pedal.
- Polarity Reversal Cable: Use this cable to reverse the polarity from Center Negative to Center Positive if your pedal requires a Center Positive connection. Connect the BLACK contact to the RUNSTEN and the RED contact to your pedal.

Using RUNSTEN as an Extension:
If you use the RUNSTEN as your sole source of power, connect it to a 100-240V power supply using the included universal adaptor.
However, if you have another power supply with an 18-24V output, you can use the RUNSTEN as an extension. Use a cable with an EIAJ-5 contact to connect to the RUNSTEN. Please note that if using the RUNSTEN as an extension, the current of the outputs will depend on the specifications of the other power supply and may not align with the RUNSTEN’s specifications.

We recommend the EBS DC-1 cables to connect your pedals to RUNSTEN. If you need more/other lenghts than the included cables, they are available at EBS dealers and online stores across the World.
EXTENDED USE OF THE RUNSTEN
When 9 or 12V DC isn’t enough, or you need extra current, or you need to reverse the polarity, or connect a pedal with a 2.5 mm contact, you can use the special adaptors included with your RUNSTEN (if you need more, they are available from the EBS WEBSHOP as well).
- To increase the VOLTAGE use the DC1-48 90/0 SER cable included with the Runsten. Connect the Red contacts to two outputs on the RUNSTEN, and the total Voltage will be the sum of the two connected outputs to deliver up to 24V DC.
- To increase the CURRENT use the DC1-48 90/0 PAR cable included with the Runsten. Connect the two Black contacts that are close together to two outputs on the RUNSTEN, and the total Current will be the sum of the two connected outputs to deliver up to 1800 mA. IMPORTANT! Both outputs MUST be set to the same voltage in order to avoid current surge and eventual damage.
- Use this cable if the DC power input on your pedal has a 2.5 mm plug. Connect the BLACK contact to the RUNSTEN and the GRAY to your pedal.
- Use this cable to reverse the polarity from Center Negative to Center Positive, if your pedal needs Center Positive connection. Connect the BLACK contact to the RUNSTEN and the RED one to your pedal.

If you use RUNSTEN as your sole source of power, we always recommend to use
the included and universal adaptor to connect RUNSTEN to 100-240V.
How ever, some power supplies from other brands features an 18-24V output. If
your power supply has that option, you can use the RUNSTEN as an extension to
that power supply. Use a cable with an EIAJ-5 contact to connect to the
Runsten.
NOTE: If using RUNSTEN as an extension to another power supply, the current of
the outputs will depend on the specifications of the other power supply and
not line up with the RUNSTEN specifications.
