Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Preparing for Replacement

  1. Check the wiper motor fuse location as specified in your owner’s manual. If the fuse is confirmed to be in good condition, proceed with the replacement.
  2. Remove the wiper blades and wiper arms from the vehicle.
  3. Locate the wiper motor cover (leaf guard) under the hood and remove it. Exercise caution as there may be hidden screws or clips holding it in place.
  4. Identify the wiper motor and trace back its power cable to the vehicle power connector.
  5. Ensure that the vehicle key is turned on, but the engine is off. Turn the wiper motor power to the full ON position on the steering column.
  6. Using a DC meter, verify that power is flowing to the wiper motor connector plug.

  7. If power is confirmed to be present at the plug and the original wiper motor is not functioning, it needs to be replaced.
  8. Make a note or take a picture of the original linkage attachment to ensure proper reinstallation.
  9. Remove the defective wiper motor from the vehicle, including any attached linkage. Set the linkage aside for later.
    • Step 3: Installing the New Wiper Motor
  10. Before installation, plug the new wiper motor into the vehicle power connector.
  11. With the vehicle key on and the engine off, turn the wiper motor control on the vehicle steering column to the full ON position and verify that the new motor functions properly.
  12. While the wiper motor is running, return the wiper motor control on the vehicle steering column to the full OFF position.
    • This allows the wiper motor to return to the proper stop position (PARK POSITION).
  13. Now that the motor is in PARK, install the new motor back into the vehicle, ensuring correct alignment with the marks or images taken earlier.
  14. Before reinstalling the cover, turn the wiper motor back on to the full ON position and verify that none of the linkages are hitting. Adjust as necessary.

Wiper Motor Replacement Instructions

Before you begin the removal of the original defective wiper motor:

  • While the wiper motor is running, return the wiper motor control on the vehicle steering column to the full “OFF” position.
  • This allows the wiper motor to return to the proper stop position, also called PARK POSITION”. Now that the motor is in PARK, install the new motor back into the vehicle.
  • Remember to reference your marks or images for the proper linkage installation location.
  • Before reinstalling the cover, turn the wiper motor back on to the full “ON” position and verify that none of the linkage is hitting. Adjust as necessary.
