In order to set the time, remove the part shown in Picture 1 and move the anchor towards the clock face. Next, set the time rotating the lower gear as shown in Picture 3. After setting the time, move the anchor back to its original position and reinsert the removed part from Picture 1.In order to wind up the clock, pull down the left thread while holding the weight!
Potential issues: | Potential causes and Solutions: |
---|---|
The mechanism is too stiff to rotate or the pendulum stops working. | Gears and |
bushings are poorly lubricated or polished.
Check if the clock maintains vertical position.
A thread is stuck in the guiding roller. Check if the pendulum maintains a
proper position. Try to operate the mechanism a few times. To adjust the
gears, pull the anchor towards yourself, wait until the weight is all the way
down, and then wind the clock. Repeat this action a few times to ensure that
the parts will work smoothly.
The clock is slow or fast.| 1. If the clock is fast, set the pendulum one or
more holes down as shown in Picture 1.
2. If the clock is slow, set the pendulum one or more holes up as shown in
Picture 2.
The clock does not wind up.| If the thread is tangled in the reel, inspect the reel and undo tangled thread.
