How to Turn on the Device

The baby monitor provides two power adaptors and power-charging cables. One is to connect the camera, the other is to connect the displayer for charging the battery.

  1. The adapter is available for AC-110-240V input. The camera will auto-turn on after the plug the adaptor in, and the blue indicator will be light-on (At night mode it will automatically turn off).
  2. Press the power button of the displayer for 3 seconds to turn it on/off. Displayer is with the battery, when the battery is low-power, please plug the adaptor in for a recharge.

Pairing

Once the camera and the displayer are both turned on, they will be Auto- connected, If not, follow the steps as below:

Turn on the displayer and press menu key . Press or to select camera and press to confirm. In the pop-up bar, press button to select camera Hand press to confirm, and then press or to choose to pair. At this time, the blue indicator light of the displayer device will flash and a prompt will appear on the displayer device screen. The blue indicator light stops blinking when the device is paired successfully.

Connect the Camera to the Monitor

  1. Power on the camera for about 8-10 s the camera will say “Power on system starting up” and start to work.
  2. Long Press the power on/off button to turn on the unit. (lips: Kindly make sure the monitor is fully charged before connection when used for the first time)
  3. After the camera and monitor are ready wait about 1 OS the picture will show on the monitor then can start to use the baby monitor.

Camera Display Selection

  1. Press the key to enter the main menu.
  2. Press the key or to choose , and then press the key to enter the sub-menu
  3. Select and press the key to choose for pairing. After the pairing is successful, the displayer will show the image from or .
  4. Select to enter delete mode, and then press delete or . If delete successful, the connection will be reminded.
  5. Select and press the key to see the sub-menu, and choose the to view the image. Or you can choose to enter cyclic mode, and the image from the cam1 or cam2 will switch in every 15 seconds.

Feed Timer Setting

  1. Enter the menu to set up the Feed timer( )—up and down to select time left and right choose single time/ recycle/turn on or off the clock. (you can choose single-time or recycle)
  2. If you don’t need a feed timer function please turn off the clock.

Vox Setting

VOX detection: Turn on the VOX mode, and the display screen will auto-light off after 30 seconds. When the ambient volume of the camera is louder than the setup value, the screen will auto-light up.

  1. Press the key to enter the main menu.
  2. Press the key OR , and press to enter VOX mode.
  3. Select  or press the button to turn off VOX mode.
  4. Even in the VOX-off mode, short press the key to enter VOX mode in a shortcut way (the screen will be turned off, but ii will keep transferring sound from the camera).

Note : At the VOX turned off, press the key , and the screen will be kept light on without auto light on/off. The sound is still heard from the camera at any time. This mode is suitable for the baby is play while adult needs to leave for a moment.

When the VOX mode is turned on, the screen and sound will be auto-light on/off in 30 seconds. When the ambient sound of the camera is louder than the setup value, the screen will light up and the speaker will make a sound. This mode is suitable to use at night.

Temperature Display

  1. Press the key lo enter the main menu.

  2. Press the key or to , press the key to confirm.

  3. In the pop-up menu bar, press the key or utton lo select or , and press the key to confirm. Press the key to return to the previous step.

  4. Press the key or the pop-up bar menu, select and press to enter the sub-menu of setting the alarming temperature
    Press the key and to choose to set the high or low warning temperature.
    Press the key and o set the temperature value to be warned (°C setting range 28°C~37°C, setting range 82F~98F). If the current ambient temperature is higher than the set warning temperature, the system automatically prompts a high-temperature warning.
    Do the same to set the low warning temperature (°C setting range 0°C~26°C, setting range 32°F~78°F). If the current ambient temperature is lower than the warning temperature, the system automatically prompts a low-temperature warning.

  5. The screen will show the temperature status bar from the temperature sensor at the back of the camera. When the baby’s room temperature is higher than the setup temperature the screen will appear a red mark on the screen and a warning alarm. While the temperature is lower than the setup temperature, the screen will show a blue mark and a warning alarm.
    Meanwhile, above or below the set temperature will emit BB. alarm sound, and press any key to cancel BB.sound. If the temperature is not restored to the set temperature range, the BB alarm sound will still be emitted 30 seconds later.

Temperature Detection Alarm

  1. Enter the main menu to choose Temp ) could turn on /off the temperature alarm.
  2. Temperature alarm settings could be (°C) or (F) according to actual usage.
  3. The default temperature is 18-30°C once the temperature is lower or higher than the range will send an alarm. (Ref to pic 5)
  4. When the temperature alarm is triggered the LCD monitor will turn on show the icon( ) and send a di di alarm sound. (Refer to pic 5)
    The sound will last for 30s. If the temperature is over the range continuously the monitor will keep sending an alarm sound, press any button to stop.

Lullaby

  1. Press the key  to enter the main menu.
  2. Press the key or to choose , press the key to confirm.
  3. In the pop-up menu bar, press the key or button to the lullaby, and press the key 0k to confirm. To play all the music in a loop, select and press the key for confirm. Press the key to return to the previous step.
  4. Press the music key to play the lullaby, and press again to turn off the lullaby.

Volume Adjustment

Press the key to pop up the menu. Press the key or to choose a larger or smaller, and press the key for confirmation. Or press the key enter the volume mode, then press or button to adjust the volume of the camera. The volume has 6 levels for each option.

System Time Setting

  1. Press the key to enter the main menu.
  2. Press the key or to choose , press the key to confirm.
  3. In the pop-up menu bar, press the key to choose in turn the hour, minute, second, and press the key or to adjust in turn the hour, minute, second. Press the key to return to the previous step after completing the system time setting.

Display Brightness

Press the key to enter the main menu. Press the key or to choose , and press . The markHOWCOO-ABM501-Baby-Monitor-Camera-FIG- \(41\) appears. Press the key or to adjust the display brightness. It has 6 levels.

Camera Zoom In

  1. Press the key to enter the main menu.
  2. Press the key or to choose mark press the key for zoom larger and the screen will appear mark . Press the key again to recover to the original image size.

Ptz Remote Control

  1. Press mode, and adjust the camera to see the upper view from the displayer.
  2. Press mode, and adjust the camera to see down view from the displayer.
  3. Press mode, and adjust the camera to see the left view from the displayer.
  4. Press mode, and adjust the camera to see the right view from the displayer.

Video Recording

  1. Installing the SD card into the card slot of the camera, the mark appears on the screen of the displayer.
  2. In the main interface, keep pressing the key for 1.5 seconds, the video recording starts, and the mark flashes on the screen. Keep pressing the key for 1.5 seconds again to pause and exit the recording. Note: The recorded video can’t be played back by thedisplayer. Please remove the SD card and play the recorded video in the computer.

Button Sound

Pressing the key for 5 seconds on the displayer interface to turn off the button sound, and the mark will disappear. Keep pressing the key again for 5 seconds to turn on the button sound, and the mark will appear.

Power Level
The mark a shows the current power level, the mark is lower power level, and will 5 consecutive beeps sound alarming, the sound will keep reminding LOW BATTERY.

Signal
Signal mark . If there is a large signal tower base station or high-power signal interference equipment in the current environment, it may cause interference to Transmission and the mark will appear. When the signal is disconnected for 5 seconds, the mark will appear and flash and the monitor will make a beep sound for 5 times.  After the 5 times of beep sound, the monitor will only leave the mark flashing. Now the monitor is disconnected from the camera.

FAQ

  1. Q: Why is the signal in the room is bad?
    A: a. Check if the receiving antenna of the displayer terminal is turned on;
    b. Due to walls of houses is different materials, which will block 2.4G signals. When the signal is not satisfied, the place of display shall be moved.

  2. Q: Why there is always some noise in the background?
    A: It is impossible to eliminate all the noise. This kind of howling has always been a problem in the audio field. Please keep the displayer and camera separate over 1.5 meters.
    Tip : The microphone of the receiver and camera cannot be the opposite. That is the reason why some users get confused when they operate the devices and always get noise in the background. This phenomenon is an uncontrollable factor.

  3. Q: Why the temperature is not precision shown on the screen?
    A: a. There is a difference in indoor air circulation.
    b. The temperature sensor is just placed in a new environment, there will be a deviation within two hours.

  4. Q: How to eliminate howling?
    A: Please keep your receiver and camera separate 1.5 meters away or more.
    Tip : The microphone of the receiver and camera cannot be the opposite.
    That is the reason why some users get confused when they operate the devices and always get noise in the background. This phenomenon is an uncontrollable factor
