Appendix 2. FAQs
Can I view and export my uploaded sesssions from my UTTO Cloud?
Yes, to view/export uploaded sessions, login to your UTTO account (contact
support if help required)
Why do I need an internet connection? 1) The vLocate Mapper is an advanced
cloud-based system that stores, processes and distributes data back to the
field user in real time. 2) the RTK correction signal comes over the internet
to the vLocate device via your cell phone.
What type of battery charger should I use?
The vLocate device uses a standard USB Type A connection of 5V @ 0.5A and
takes about 1 hour to get to +75% capacity.
(844) 811 UTTO support@utto.com
What is the Z axis?
The Z axis is the height (in inches or cm) above where the original point was
captured.
What is RTK?
A GPS correction signal that comes from a remote, fixed position station and
enables high accuracy points to be captured.
Should I terminate the RTK connection when finished my session?
Yes, when not using the RTK feed, be sure to terminate the connection or exit
the app to save cellular usage.
How do I change from metric to imperial units?
Use the Menu (burger icon) in the top right corner and make selection.
How soon after uploading will my session be ready for vLocate?
Anywhere between 30 seconds and a minute depending on your cellular
connection.
Can I walk as I capture high accuracy GPS points?
If you require inch/cm accuracy, then remain still for a few seconds as you
capture and save points.
What is Map View & Target View?
In vLocate mode, you will be in Map View when not in close proximity to the
target, as soon as you get near the display will automatically jump to Target
View.
Does the system use my phone’s compass?
Yes, for best results when using guidance ensure the calibration feature of
your phone is turned on (check with your phone’s manufacturer on how to do
this or contact UTTO support).
How do I get back to Map View when in Target Mode and stood directly over a
captured point?
This is normal, you just need to walk away from the point and hit the back
arrow (the distance you need to move depends on the distance selected in the
Settings menu via the slider bar).
What is the difference between Fixed and Float RTK Modes?
In FLOAT mode the algorithm is still working toward an optimal accuracy
solution. Always wait for FIXED mode. Environmental conditions can cause FIX
to drop to Float mode during active sessions (the vLocate system detects this
and will not permit collection or relocation during these periods without user
override).
