Safety Awareness

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic precaution should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following

  1. Read all instructions before installing or using this heater.

  2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.

  3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating  and unattended.

  4. DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.

  5. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

  6. DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. DO NOT route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.

  7. To disconnect heater, turn controls off, then remove plug from outlet.

  8. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.

  9. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.

  10. To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block air intakes or exhaust in anv manner

  11.  A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.

  12. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to person.

  13. Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

  14. Always unplug the heater when not in use. To disconnect from the power supply, grip the plug and unplug from the power socket. Never pull by the cable.

  15. DO NOT use this heater in conjunction with a timer device or any other device which facilitates unattended switch on.

  16. The power cable must be fully unwound before use.

  17. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacture, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

  18. This product is not designed for use by persons (including children) who have reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or persons with no experience or knowledge. Unless they are instructed and supervised in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  19. Children should be supervised to ensure that they DO NOT play with appliance.

  20. Make sure the heater is supplied by the branch-circuit fitted with one 20 amperes over current protection.

  21. DO NOT place the heater near a bed because objects such as pillows or blankets can fall off the bed and be ignited by the heater. 22. Check your heater cord and plug connections. A loose fitting outlet can cause the plug to overheat or cause a fire. Be sure plug fits tight in the outlet.

  22. Check frequently during use to make sure plug and outlet are not hot. If hot, discontinue using heater and have outlet replaced by a qualified electrician
    Note : Heaters draw more current than small appliances, overheating of the outlet may occur even if it has not occurred with the other appliances.

  23. Risk of fire – DO NOT operate without base attached.

  24. The heater should not be operated unless the extending guard (see item 4 in part list) is in place. Risk of fire -DO NOT use if the extending guard has been deformed.

  25. DO NOT use on soft surface, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.

  26. Never plug the appliance into the socket with wet hands.

Installation

Installation Precaution

  • The heaters should always be installed upright and should always only use the base provided.
  • Remove all packing material before installation. DO NOT forget to remove the foam that protecting the tube (inserted in the front grid).

Installation Steps
Step 1 : Put the heater into the base assembly and fasten it with screws.

Grounding Instruction
This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown at A in Figure below. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

Operating Steps

  1. Place the heater on a flat, hard floor and make sure the tip-over switch on the bottom is connected.
  2. Insert the power cord plug into a grounded outlet, be sure plug fits tightly in the outlet.
  3. Rotate the knob to turn on, and adjust the heat level (Low/High).
  4. Now, adjust your distance and enjoy the heat from the infrared electric heater.
  5. Rotate the knob back to the off position to turn off the heater.

Note

  • Placing the heater on carpets, lawns, or decks with gaps may leave the tip-over switch on the bottom of the heater disconnected, preventing the heater from turning on.
  • If you tilt or lift the heater while it is running, it will shut off for safety.
  • If the heater is overheated, the overheat protection will be activated, the infrared tube will not light up, unplug the power cord, and wait 5-10 minutes before the thermostat resets.

Maintenance Instructions

Warning

  • Before cleaning, unplug from the power supply and wait a few minutes to cool down.
  • This heater almost need no maintenance. However, when the heater builds up heavy dirt, use a soft cloth to wipe it off.
  • All other servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel.

Storage
When you intend not to use this heater for a long time, you can totally store it indoor location, which out of reach by children or disassemble it to put into the package box.

  1. Unplug from the socket outlet, allowing cool down.
  2. Carefully disassemble extending guard and the base assembly by removing the screws as shown in the Installation figures.
  3. Carefully fold the power supply cord and fix it with a cable tie.
  4. Put the heater and all assemblies, including screws in the package box, and then store it in dry location, which away from sunshine and out of reach by children.
  5. Next time when use, totally assemble as the installation instruction before use.

Troubleshooting


The heater won’t turn on and the infrared tube don’t light up.| Check to make sure that the power cord is tightly plugged into the outlet.
Make sure the heater is placed on a level and hard surface, and the bottom tip-over switch is connected.
The heater is overheating, let it cool down before using it again.
The knob fell off.| It doesn’t matter, just align the knob with the knob shaft and press down.
There are slight “ka” sounds during heating up and cooling.| It is normal, caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the metal casing.
There is a slight smell when the heater is turned on.| This is normal and will disappear after a few times of use.
The glass tube broke when the package was received.| Contact Customer Support.
