Standard Model Power Wheelchair
Congratulations on choosing EasyFold! You are now officially part of the EasyFold family. EasyFold will provide you with years of dependable service, with proper use and care.
We highly recommend you read through the owner’s manual prior to operating your EasyFold; familiarizing yourself with the safety procedures, as well as the product information. Product Description
EasyFold – Standard Model
At 46 lbs, the standard model is lighter and more compact, ideal for indoor
use and light terrains. The lighter weight also provides better range.
When fully charged, the single standard battery can travel 20 kms, when
equipped with a second optional battery, it can travel 40 kms.
The Standard Model EasyFold power wheelchair is composed of a very durable
lightweight aluminum alloy, while having the capability of handling passengers
weighing up to 265 pounds. The Standard Model has 8”rear wheels and is powered
by 180 Watt Brushless HUB motors. It is effortless, quick, and easy to fold
this chair into a compact size. The purchase of an EasyFold Standard Model
will include everything needed to use it — included in each order will be one
LiFePO4 Lithium-ion,24 V,10Ah Battery and the Joystick and charger. A
secondary Battery (sold separately, at an additional cost) can be added for
further distance.
EasyFold – Elite Model
The Elite Model is equipped with 7.5” Front Wheels, 12” Rear Wheels and is
powered by two 250 Watt Brushless HUB motors. EasyFold is composed of a very
durable lightweight aluminum alloy, giving it a total weight of only 59
pounds, but being capable of handling passengers weighing up to 265 pounds.
You will be amazed at how effortless it is to quickly fold this chair to a
compact size.
Purchase of an EasyFold Elite power wheelchair includes everything needed to
use it — included in each order will be two 6 Ah lithium-ion Batteries, a
charger and the Joystick.

General Safety Procedures
- Take time to learn how the EasyFold operates in a private space before operating outdoors/large spaces.
- Always be aware of surroundings when operating.
- If unsure if the EasyFold can surpass an obstacle, find an alternate route.
- The EasyFold is designed for a single user only; more than one user may result in personal injury.
- Ensure components such as the control panel, battery charger, and other electronic components avoid moisture.
- If components come into contact with moisture, dry before use.
- The EasyFold seat is designed for comfort, not specifically for pressure relief; if any concerns, please consult a physician.
Pre-operating Safety Procedures
- Ensure the EasyFold is operating without error.
- Check for any unusual noises, vibration, or changes in the ease of use; if a problem is detected, use the tool kit to perform maintenance or get in touch with EasyFold directly through phone or email.
- It’s important to maintain the EasyFold. Failing to maintain could increase risk for injury.
- Before sitting, make sure the EasyFold is turned OFF. This will ensure the EasyFold will not move upon transferring to and from the unit.
- Ensure the foot rest is down.
- Once onboard, make sure feet are safely rested on the footrest.
Operating Safety Procedures
- Always remain alert and aware of motor vehicles on roads or in parking lots.
- At night, or when difficult to see, it is suggested to use reflective tape on the EasyFold.
- EasyFold is designed for use on firm, even surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or indoor flooring.
- Do not operate the EasyFold in sand or loose soil. This could damage the wheels, bearings, axles or motors, and may loosen fasteners.
Safe Exit Procedures
- Ensure to bring the EasyFold to a full and complete stop.
- Turn OFF the unit to avoid moving the wheelchair.
- Raise the armrest carefully and safely and transfer from the seat.
Transporting the EasyFold
- Never sit in the EasyFold while on a moving vehicle; a sudden stop may cause injury.
- Never transport the EasyFold in the front seat of a vehicle, where it may shift and interfere with the driver.
- Always secure the EasyFold so that it cannot roll or shift when being transported in a vehicle.
- The EasyFold is NOT approved to be used with any tie down system.

EasyFold Maintenance
Maintenance is a very important aspect of owning an EasyFold. It is important
to perform regular maintenance of the EasyFold to ensure longevity and
warranty eligibility. Never use non-EasyFold parts or make changes to the
EasyFold unless authorized in writing by us. Doing so will void Warranty and
can create a safety hazard.
Certified repair shops with trained professionals who specialize in electric
wheelchairs and scooters will be qualified to perform the service and
maintenance on the EasyFold electric wheelchair should it be required.
If you are unsure of where to find a certified repair shop, please contact
EasyFold for further assistance. Please be sure to keep a log of the service
and maintenance performed. Shop or technician may require parts, which
EasyFold has available.
Areas To Inspect
It is recommended to inspect the following areas (Frame, Wheels & Armrests) of the EasyFold, at least two to three times a year;
FRAMES| Tighten loose screws as needed using the tool kit included with
the EasyFold.

WHEELS| Make sure the wheels rotate easily. Significant resistance may
require new bearings.
ARMRESTS| Assess for excessive wear or if they are loose.
Product Replacements
It is highly recommended that replacing parts and other major maintenance changes should be done by a professional. It is not advisable to do major maintenance work independently.
BATTERIES| Read all battery instructions carefully before attempting to change
or charge batteries. To remove the batteries, pull out evenly while depressing
the plastic clasp on each side (under the battery’s face). Use batteries that
have been supplied by EasyFold only; these batteries are special lithium ion
batteries designed specifically for use in the EasyFold.

FASTENERS| Many of the screws, bolts and nuts on the EasyFold are special
high-strength fasteners. Replacing these fasteners with non-approved parts may
cause the EasyFold to result in faulty operation and may cause harm to the
user. Use fasteners that have been supplied by EasyFold only. Using the tools
included with the EasyFold, tighten any fasteners that become loose as soon as
possible.
How to guide
Set Up
The EasyFold will arrive in a cardboard box. It is suggested that two people
remove the packaging and set up the EasyFold for the first time.
STEP 1| The EasyFold ships upright; carefully open the top of the box then
turn the box on the side for easier removal of the contents.

STEP 2| To expand the EasyFold, grasp the push bar and pull up while holding
down on the seat to expand the EasyFold.
STEP 3| Push down to close the latch located below the seat, to the rear of
the unit to lock the seat into place.
STEP 4| Slide the Controller into the open slot on the arm of the EasyFold on
the right side (unless pre-ordered for left-handed users). Tighten the knob
located under the armrest to secure the controller in place.
STEP 5| Connect the controller wire harness to the CPU wire harness that runs
from the chair itself, taking care to line up the pins properly so that they
do not get bent, broken or damaged.
Operation
It is highly recommended to read the safety information mentioned in this manual first, before operating the EasyFold. Operate only in the appropriate environment, after you have practiced operations and know how to work the controller.
STEP 1| Be certain that the power is OFF before sitting in the seat. There
should be no lights on the controller. Make sure the foot rest is down before
getting into your EasyFold, but do not put full body weight onto it.

STEP 2| Press the power button, a beep and a light will indicate that the
power is on.
STEP 3| Use the joystick style controller to steer and turn left, right or go
forward and backward.
STEP 4| When stopped, it is advised to power OFF the EasyFold to prevent
accidents. Press the Power button to turn off the EasyFold.
STEP 5| Make sure there is no light on the controller before getting off the
EasyFold.
NOTE: To ensure complete safety, always power off the EasyFold when not in motion. This will ensure that the joystick control cannot cause unexpected movement of the wheelchair.
Batteries & Charging
The EasyFold will arrive with fully charged batteries, but it is still recommended to charge the batteries 5 to 6 hours before running it.
Primary and most preferred charging method
- Turn the power OFF using the button on the controller.
- Plug in the charger to the controller port.
- Plug the charger power harness into the charger and then into a grounded wall outlet.
- Allow the EasyFold to charge for 5 to 6 hours or when the light on the chager turns green, which means the batteries are fully charged.
- The lights and what they mean are located on the back of the chager.
Secondary charging method
There is the option of charging the batteries on the EASYFOLD individually by
using a port located on the battery itself.
NOTE: Using this method requires that each battery is charged separately.
- Turn off the main power.
- Flip open the charger port protector located on the front of the battery.
- Use the secondary charger pigtail to adapt the battery charger to plug into the battery directly.
- Plug in the charger to the battery directly then plug the charger into a grounded outlet.
Learn more about batteries
- The EASYFOLD ELITE comes with two (2) installed, charged 24V 6Ah lithium ion batteries.
- Charging the batteries for 5 – 6 hours will maximize the overall life-cycle of the batteries.
- Turn the main unit’s power off while charging.
- Do not leave children unsupervised near the EASYFOLD while it is charging.
- Do not attempt to open the battery housing.
- The Red light means the power is on and the unit is charging; the green light means the unit is fully charged.
- When the battery is fully charged, remove the cable. Take out the DC charging connector and AC input power socket.
- If the EasyFold is not operated for two months, it is recommended that to charge the battery for 5-6 hours before use.
- Maximum operating time per charge can be affected by:
- Uneven, sloped or soft terrain.
- Exceeding total weight limit.
- Varying speed excessively.
- Stopping and starting frequently.
- The lifecycle of a lithium battery is measured in charge cycles with an average of 500 charge cycles.
- Check the battery indicator light daily if the EASYFOLD is used frequently.
- Do not use any battery chargers that have not been certified by EasyFold.
- If damaged, do not handle the battery without protective gloves and eyewear.
- If the battery needs to be disposed of, locate the nearest hazardous materials disposal facility, and call them for instructions.
- Before storing the EasyFold for long periods of time, take these steps to maintain the battery:
- Fully charge the battery before storing.
- Remove the battery from the unit.
- Store the battery in a room-temperature environment that is kept dry.
- Avoid temperature extremes and do not allow the battery to freeze.
- Do not attempt to charge your battery if it is frozen from extreme weather conditions, instead, first allow it to thaw for several hours.
- The EASYFOLD is still operational with only one battery in place.

Transporting the EasyFold
To transport the EasyFold, it is advised to follow the procedures below.
- Turn OFF the power from the controller.
- Remove seat cushion.
- Flip the back safety latch up to unlock the frame.
- Placing one hand on the top of the frame and the other on the footrest, bring both together to fold up the EasyFold. Alternatively, push the top frame toward the ground with one hand to fold.
- When folded, the footrest can be used as a hand-hold to move the EasyFold easily.
NOTE: Never transport the EasyFold in a tie down system, as the EasyFold is not compatible with them.

The purchaser of this product is entitled to a limited warranty as offered by EasyFold on the following components and timeframes:

Any parts under warranty will be replaced and shipped to the end user. Any
service and labour fees, if applicable, to replace parts under warranty must
be paid by the user.
Due to its straightforward design, most parts can be easily exchanged by the
end user without a professional service technician. However, it is always
recommended to seek professional help for maintenance and service, to ensure
the work is done properly and safely.
The warranty only covers NON-DELIBERATE Damage.
The warranty does not cover:
- Products damaged by user negligence.
- Products damaged accidentally.
- Products damaged intentionally.
- Products that have been subjected to negligence.
- Products that have been subjected to abuse.
- Products that have been improperly stored.
- Products that have been improperly handled.
- Products that have been improperly operated.
- Products that have experienced general misuse.
- Products that have been modified in an unauthorized, unapproved way.
Warranty is non-transferrable and only valid for the original wheelchair purchaser. EasyFold will, at its sole discretion, replace any warrantable item that fails within the warranty period.
Troubleshooting
The following represents the most common questions asked about EasyFold wheelchairs with regard to everyday use; check this helpful guide or the operator’s manual for more information for questions about using the EasyFold:

head while gently pulling the battery out of the wheelchair.
Why won’t the battery charge?| 1. Charger light does not turn on.
2. Charger light is always green.
3. Charging time is stopped before full charge is complete.| 1. Replace the
charger.
2. Battery is not connected, or may need to be replaced.
3. Capacity of the battery has decreased over time. Replace the battery.
