INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING.
WHEN USING THE FIRST TIME
DAfter removing the product from the box, make sure it is not damaged and all components are present and in the correct position (Fig. 1). Wash the product before using it. Make and discard some pots of coffee.
PREPARATION
– Fill the heater unit with cold water, up to the reference notch indicated
inside the heater unit.
– Insert the funnel fitter In the heater unit and fill with ground barley. Do
not press the barley down and be careful not to leave any bits of powder on
the edges of the funnel filter and heater unit.
– Screw the upper part onto the heater unit without putting any pressure on
the handle.
– Place the Orzo Express on a small gas ring with a high flame. When using the
product on electric of ceramic plate, adjust to medium heat.
– After a few minutes the barley coffee will rise through the phase separator,
wait until the upper pad is full. then pour the coffee as for any other coffee
maker.
– After use, rinse the separator and replace it on the column without pressure
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
– Do not wash in the dishwasher.
– Do not use abrasive cleaning detergents or materials.
– Keep the product out of the reach of children when in use.
– Never use the product without water in the heater unit.
– The heater unit has been designed to be used with water only
– Only use ground barley. Never use other extracts: soluble barley, cocoa
powder, camomile or other soluble infusion.
– When the barley is ready, do not leave Orzo Express on the heat source.
– When the barley is ready, avoid touching hot surfaces but use the handle. Do
not open the product until it has cooled down.
– When in use, make sure that the safety valve is not pointing towards the
user.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
– Rinse the upper part, the funnel filter and the heater unit under the tap
and, if necessary. clean with a soft sponge.
– Avoid using abrasive detergents and do not wash in the dishwasher.
– Periodically carefully dean the inside of the column.
– Carefully clean the phase separator, removing it from the column and rinsing
it up-side down under running water.
– Put the device away only when it is completely dry, making sure not to
completely screw the upper part and the heater sit
– Regularly check the components, replace them when they show sings of wear
and tear.

In some cases drinking water can leave behind calcium deposits in the opening found on a coffee maker’s valve. The consequences of this are a risk of blockage of the valve and product malfunction.
