Use Precautions

Precautions during Charging

• Only use where the power-supply side contains an RCD breaker protector.
• Do not use the device outdoors during thunderstorms.
• The device must be grounded.
• Do not submerge the control box in water.
• Handle the device carefully and do not place heavy objects on it.
• Do not place the cable near high-temperature objects when charging.
• Do not use the device in extreme temperatures (normal operating range is recommended).
• Avoid contact with corrosive materials or other hazardous substances.
• Keep the charging connector clean and dry, and avoid touching the metal pin in the connector with your hands.
• Do not use the charging cable when it is defective, cracked, worn, or exposed.
• Keep children away from the device to avoid unexpected injuries.
• Do not pull out the head of the charge coupler during charging, as it may cause safety issues to the vehicle.
• Ensure your car is stationary and the engine is turned off before charging a hybrid vehicle.

Precautions for Product Handling

• The shell of the product is made of thermoplastic, do not pound it to avoid performance degradation.
• Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or refit the charging device. Improper operation may cause equipment damage, water leakage, electric leakage, etc. Contact customer service if repair or refit is needed.

How to Start Charging

1. Insert the plug into the power-supply receptacle firmly (Fig1). Ensure the power-supply receptacle is in compliance with NEMA 14-50 standard.
2. Press button [A] to set the charging current mode. Press the button [CLOCK] to set the charging time (Fig.2).
3. Gently pull out the cap of the charge coupler and insert the charge coupler head firmly into the vehicle outlet (Fig.3). Ensure the charge coupler head is fully inserted until hearing a click.
4. The device will start charging automatically. When the smartphone is bound via Wi-Fi, the anti-theft charging function is turned on (See page12).

How to Stop Charging

1. Press the button and disconnect the charging connector from the vehicle inlet (Fig.4).
2. Close the protective cap of EV and put on the protective cap of the charging connector (Fig.5).
3. Disconnect the plug from the power supply receptacle (Fig.6).
4. Some car models may lock the charge coupler when the car is powered on. You must power off the car and then pull out the charge coupler.

FAQ

• Q: Can I use this charging station with any electric vehicle?
  A: Yes, this charging station is compatible with all electric vehicles that support the SAE J1772 standard.

• Q: Can I charge my hybrid vehicle with this charging station?
  A: Yes, you can charge your hybrid vehicle with this charging station. However, please make sure to turn off the engine before charging.

• Q: Can I use the charging cable if it is damaged?
  A: No, you should not use the charging cable if it is defective, cracked, worn, or exposed. Using a damaged cable can be dangerous and may cause harm to you or your vehicle.

• Q: What should I do if I need to repair or refit the charging device?
  A: If you need to repair or refit the charging device, please contact customer service for assistance. Attempting to repair or modify the device yourself may result in equipment damage or safety hazards.

• Please keep the charging connector clean and dry. Do not touch the metal pin in the connector with your hands.
• Do not use the charging cable when it is defective, cracked, worn or exposed.
• To avoid unexpected injuries, please stay children away from the device.
• It is strictly prohibited to pull out the head of the charge coupler during the charging, otherwise it will cause safety issues to the vehicle.
• Please make sure your car keeps stationary while charging, and turn off the engine before charging the hybrid vehicle.

• Please notice that the maximum 40A power-supply side input hardwire should be at least 36mm²(recommended 38mm²) and with a standard 14-50 receptacle. Please make sure the circuit breaker of your linked EV charger should be at least 50A. It is proposed to complete the distribution of electricity by professionals.
• Do not attempt to disassemble, repair or refit the charging device. Improper operation may cause equipment damage, water leakage, electric leakage, etc. Please contact the customer service if you need repair or refit.

How to Start Charging

1. Insert the plug into the power-supply receptacle firmly (Fig1).
   Ensure the power-supply receptacle is in compliance with NEMA 14-50 standard.

2. Press button [A] to set the charging current mode.

3. Please pull out the cap of the charge coupler gently, and insert the charge coupler head firmly into the vehicle outlet (Fig.3).
   Ensure the charge coupler head is fully inserted until hearing a “click”.

Current Mode Switching

1. Please insert the power-supply plug into the power-supply receptacle firmly and disconnect the vehicle, then the current mode can be switched by pressing the switch button [A].
2. The 10A-40A device support 5 current switching modes of 10A/16A/24A/32A/4OA. (Current switching numerical changes in real-time.)

Timed Charging Setting

1. Please insert the power-supply plug into the power-supply receptacle firmly and disconnect the vehicle, then timing charging can be set by pressing the switch button [clock].
2. The timing unit increases by 1 hour when you press the button once.

Introduction of Screen Display

Wi-Fi Function Usage

1. Connect to Wi-Fi, open the smartphone Wi-Fi setting, search and connect to the Wi-Fi with the prefix ‘Soph’, the initial password is 12345678. (Note: The smartphone will not be able to access the Internet after connecting to this Wi-Fi)
2. Open the smartphone browser and enter the IP address in the browser URL bar: 192.168.4.1 or scan the code to open the webpage
3. Use the smartphone to start charging.
4. Charging settings : Click the settings icon in the upper left corner of the main page to enter the settings page. On this page, you can set plug and charge, view/clear the accumulated power, change the Wi-Fi connection password, etc.

SophTrans EV charging station (level 2) is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of shipment.

This warranty does not cover any damage due to the following cases

1. Improper handling, installation, use and maintenance by users.
2. The breakdown and the failure caused by the force majeure, such as direct damage and inability to function properly caused by natural disasters.
3. Water damage caused by filling the product with water or soaked in water.
   • This warranty does not cover the cost of freight to return the device to Factory.
   • This warranty is only valid to the original purchaser of the device and is not transferable.
