2021 – 2023 F150 Side Vent LED Lighting
Instruction Manual
If your truck is equipped with OEM LED Headlights, please refer to section B of the instructions.
Section A
STEP 1
Clean the mounting surface using the included prep wipes behind the vent cover seen in the photo below.
STEP 2
Run the wire from the strip through the top hole of the vent and reach into the engine bay to the backside of the vent to pull all of the wire through until the strip gets to the vent.
STEP 3
Remove the protective 3M covering and mount the strip behind the vent cover.
(The camera cannot capture where the strip is mounted due to the limited
amount of space in the vent however it is mounted along where the arrows are
pointing in the photo below)
We recommend using the included RTV silicone to help this strip stick as seen
in the photo below.
Or you can stick the strip on the inside of the vent then using your fingers you can layer some of the RTV silicone on the sides of the strip.
STEP 4
Run the wire from the back of the vent across the engine bay to the headlight assembly then feed the wire down behind the headlight assembly.
STEP 5
Remove the three screws seen in the photos below to be able to push your wheel
well liner out of the way.
Using a size 7mm socket or a Phillips head screwdriver remove the screws in
the photos below.
The first two screws are located right inside the wheel well, and the screw
connecting the wheel well liner to the trim piece is at the top of the wheel
well.
Once you have removed these screws, push the wheel well liner out of the way
to gain access to the front marker bulb.
STEP 6
Remove the Front Marker socket.
To remove your bulb, reach behind your headlight assembly, locate your Front marker light, and give the marker light a counterclockwise turn to expose your front marker bulb.
STEP 7
Now that the bulb is removed, use the included quick splice connectors to
connect the wires from the kit to the two wires on the front marker socket.
Take the red wire from the strip and connect it to the blue wire coming from
the front marker socket.
Now take the black wire from the strip and connect it to the black wire coming from the front marker socket.
STEP 8
Test the kit to ensure it is receiving power then reinstall the front marker into the headlight housing and put the screws back in the wheel well liner. Then use the included zip ties to clean up the excess wire.
Section B
If your 2015+ F150 has factory-equipped LED headlights then your installation of the Vent Light kit will vary only slightly. Everything is the same as the instructions in section A, except you will not have front marker lights to connect to like the non-LED headlamps have. (You have the lighted outline on the headlights instead.)
Instead of connecting to front marker lights as shown in the video, you will quick splice to your headlight connector using PIN 7 for ground (typically black) and PIN 3 for power (typically red or blue/purple but PIN location is what is important, not wire color). Please reference the guide below for your PIN connector.
Section B
Section B
You can access the LED headlight unit’s rear plug location from the left front
wheel well. Remove just 3 screws, push the wheel well liner out of the way
then the plug is accessible about one foot above your hand. Release the clip-
on top of the plug and bring the plug to the top of the engine compartment and
make your connections to the 3rd and 7th wires. It is much easier than
removing body parts and all those screws holding the LED light unit in place.
Much less time and trouble!
