Twice Weekly Transdermal Patches
To be provided to patients who have been prescribed Zeyzelf® twice weekly
transdermal patch (rivastigmine transdermal system)
These Instructions for Use and Patient diary are essential to ensure the
correct use of rivastigmine patch
Instructions for use
- These Instructions for Use and Medication Record Sheets are essential to ensure the correct use of rivastigmine patch.
- If you have any questions or require more information, please read the package information leaflet that came with the medicine.
- If you are not sure about anything, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Important to remember

Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch is applied 2 times a week and an oval adhesive cover patch is stuck over the Zeyzelf patch.

Replace the skin patches twice a week on two fixed days; at the latest after 4 days:
Monday and Friday OR
Tuesday and Saturday OR
Wednesday and Sunday OR
Thursday and Monday OR
Friday and Tuesday OR
Saturday and Wednesday OR
Sunday and Thursday -
Take off the previous patches before putting ONE new transdermal patch and one adhesive cover on.

Do not cut Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch into pieces.

Press the Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch firmly in place for at least 15 seconds using the palm of the hand, then press the adhesive cover down firmly for at least 30 seconds.

The highest dose of Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch is 9.5mg/24h. To achieve higher doses other rivastigmine patch products should be used.
How to apply Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch
The application always begins with Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch. Its sachet is smaller than that of the adhesive cover.

Carefully remove the existing patch before putting on one new patch.

Remove Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch from the sachet by using scissors.

Peel off one side of the protective liner and do not touch the sticky part of the patch with the fingers.

Put the sticky side of the patch on the upper or lower back, upper arm or chest (the breast should be avoided) and then peel off the second side of the protective liner.

Then press the patch firmly in place for about 15 seconds using the palm of the hand to make sure that the edges stick well.

After applying the Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch, the adhesive cover should be applied. Instructions are continued on the next page.
Continue with the application of the oval protective plaster. Its sachet is bigger than that of Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch. -
Remove the oval, beige protective plaster from the sachet by using SCISSOIS.

Peel off the smaller side of the protective liner and do not touch the sticky part of the patch with the fingers.

Cover the Zeyzelf twice weekly (rivastigmine) transdermal patch completely with its beige protective plaster by putting the sticky side on the already attached transdermal patch and peel off the second half of the protective liner.

Then press the plaster firmly at least for 30 seconds using the palm of the hand to make sure that the edges stick well.

How to use this patient diary
- Use this diary to keep track of when you apply and take off a Zeyzelf twice weekly (riyastigming) transdermal patch.
- Tick the box when you have removed the old patch.
- Fill in the date and day you apply the new patch.
- Fill in the letter of the application zone where you have applied the new patch.
- If you have any questions or require more information, please read the package information leaflet that came with the medicine.
- If you are not sure about anything, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Where to apply/Application zones
The patches should be replaced at the same time of day. Before ! putting one
new patch on, remove the previous patch and protective cover.
Replace the transdermal patches twice a week (on two fixed days); at the
latest after 4: days and apply one new patch ‘ to one of the zones highlighted
in the picture.
You can use the same zone (A or BorCorDorE orf orGor H), but do not use the
same : exact spot within the same zone. The breast should be avoided.

Reporting of side effects
Please report suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to the MHRA through
the Yellow Card scheme. You can report via:
- the Yellow Card website www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard
- the free Yellow Card app available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- some clinical IT systems (EMIS/SystmOne/Vision/MiDatabank) for healthcare professionals
Alternatively you can report a suspected side effect to the Yellow Card scheme
by calling 0800 731 6789 for free, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. You
can leave a message outside of these hours.
When reporting please provide as much information as possible. By reporting
side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this
medicine.
