Function
The Blue Marine Chiller 100 is an advanced water cooler for (seawater) aquariums from 30 to 100 litres. You connect the chiller to a circulation pump, the water is cooled as it flows through. The cooler works on the Peltier principle which makes it very quiet, vibration-free and low-maintenance. The water flowing through the cooler should always be clean (filtered). Dirty water can adversely affect the cooling efficiency and cause blockages.
Installation (Fig. A)
- For installation, you need a circulation pump (Blue Marine Reef Power 600, art. N7035375), aquarium hose (ø 9/12 mm or ø 12/16 mm) and hose clamps. These are not included.
- Connect the circulation pump (c) with the aquarium hose and hose clamps to one of the connections on the chiller(a). Place the circulation pump in the sump (b).
- Connect the other aquarium hose to the other connection using a hose clamp and hang the hose end in the sump at some distance from the pump.
- Place the sensor (d) in the sump, near the circulation pump so that it can measure the average water temperature.
- Turn on the circulation pump so that water starts flowing through the chiller.
- Connect the power cable to the chiller and plug it in. Flip switch at the back of the chiller so that it lights up red.
Use (Fig. B)
- Turn on the chiller by pressing the RST key. The display will turn on. To turn the chiller off, press and hold the RST key for three seconds.
- Press the Set button, the digits start flashing and LED (f) lights up.
- Press to set the desired temperature. If you want to go up or down faster, press and hold the button.
- Press Set to confirm the setting or wait 5 seconds (the digits stop flashing).
- Should you accidentally press the Set button too long, you will enter the factory settings menu. Press Set or wait 5 seconds to exit this menu. Do NOT modify the factory settings.
- The chiller starts cooling when the water temperature is 1°C above the set value and stops once the set temperature is reached (example: at a set value of 26°C, the chiller keeps the water temperature between 26-27°C). LED (e) lights up during cooling.
Maintenance
- Turn off the chiller with the switch and unplug it.
- Clean the outside of the chiller regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Disconnect the hoses if they are dirty on the inside and rinse them under running water or use a special brush to clean the inside.
- Reconnect the hoses and secure them with the hose clamps.
- Put the plug into the socket and flip the switch again.
- After a brief power interruption, the chiller will continue cooling with the set temperature.
