Assembly

  1. Insert the legs into the corners of the base.
  2. Screw on the drain valve into the bottom of the base.
  3. Install the debris screen into the recessed area over the drain valve.

Usage Instructions

Setting Up the Lower Tray (Day One)

  1. Place the lower tray on the base.
  2. Soak two sheets of newsprint in water and lay them in the bottom of the tray (initial setup only).
  3. Soak coir in water and mix it with shredded newsprint.
  4. Spread the coir and newsprint mixture lightly and evenly over the tray bottom.
  5. Add approximately 1/2 kilo or one pound of worms to the tray.

Acclimating the Worms (Day Two)
Set the upper tray and lid on top of the lower tray and allow the worms to get accustomed to their new home. It is important to always store your farm in a cool, dark location.

Feeding Day

  1. Start feeding your worms with suitable worm food (see page 1 for a list of suitable worm food).
  2. Repeat steps 2 and 3 from Day One.
  3. Make sure the holes in contact with compost below are aligned.

Filling the Upper Tray
After several weeks, the worms have completed their work in the lower tray. It’s now time to fill the upper tray and start the process over.

  1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 from Day One.
  2. Add food to the upper tray.
  3. Your worms will migrate into the upper tray and start the process over. Replace the lid.

‘Day One’

  1. set working tray on base, soak 2 sheets of newsprint in water, lay in bottom of tray. (initial setup only)
  2. Soak coir in water. Mix with shredded newsprint.
  3. Spread mixture lightly and evenly over the tray bottom.
  4. Add approx. 1/2 kilo  or one pound of worms.
  5. Set the upper tray and lid on top and let the worms get accustomed to their new home.

NOTE : always store you farm in a cool dark location.

  1. ‘Feeding Day’, start feeding your worms (see page 1 for list of suitable worm food)
  2. After several weeks the worms have done their work, and it’s time to fill the ‘upper tray’. repeat previous steps 2 & 3 then add ‘food’. Your worms will migrate into the upper tray and start the process over (replace lid)
