Filter Cartridge Introduction

  • Stage 1: Pre-Filter
Pre-filter removes all the sediments, dust, and other residual particles from water. It has a pore size of 5 microns. The Pre-Filter is important to keep the NF membrane and other fillers protected from large particles and damaging them.

  • Stage 2: Sediment Filter
The sediment filter is the same as the Pre-Filter. Sediment Filter removes turbidity, sediments, and sand particles. It has a pore size of 5 microns. A sediment filter acts as a double protection along with Pre-FIiier against large particles

  • Stage 3: Activated Carbon Filter
Activated Carbon Filter removes chlorine, smell, odor, and other organics from water. These impurities are removed by the adsorption process. Chlorine removal is very important at this stage as chlorine damages the NF Membrane.

  • Stage 4: NF Membrane
NF(Nano Filtration) membrane removes the dissolved impurities, bacteria, viruses, and heavy metals from water thus making the water ultra-pure.

  • Stage 5: Post carbon Taste Enhancer
The post-carbon media is impregnated with copper to further enhance the taste and quality of water

  • Stage 6: UV Sterilization System
The UV system disinfects the water by sterilization through a UV lamp thus killing any residual bacteria left from the previous filtration process

Installation Procedure

  1. Fix the SS ball valve to the¼” port of the 3-way connector as shown in the figure.
  2. Connect the 3-way connector to the raw water supply as shown in the figure. The threaded end of the 3-way connector is fitted in line with the raw water supply. The other end can be connected to a tap or can be plugged off if not required.
  3. Now connect one end of the white pipe to the SS ball valve and the other end to the upper hex connector on the left-hand side of the purifier labeled as WATER IN with the help of connector nuts.
  4. Similarly, connect one other end of the white pipe to the lower hex connector labeled as REJECT WATER and leave the other end in the drain.
  5. Before connecting the power supply, it is important that you perform the following functions:
    • Open the SS ball valve (Handle parallel to the ball valve) to start the flow of water into the purifier.
    • Wait for 2-3 minutes to ensure that the pre-filters are soaked in water.
  6. The Carbon Filter needs to be washed for 5 minutes after the purifier is switched on.
  7. Ensure that all the electrical parts of working properly like the float switch by checking whether the water cuts off when the tank is full.
  8. Wait till the whole tank is drained off once and then test the TDS and pH of water after installation.

Maintenance

  • To ensure that the purifier operates at its optimum level, routine maintenance must be performed. The frequency of maintenance will greatly depend on feed water quality and the level of purifier usage.
  • Replace sediment filters as required or every 12 months depending on the raw water quality and consumption
  • Replace the NF membrane as required
  • Cleaning of the UV tube should be done regularly once a year. ( if the system has UV)
  • The activated carbon filter must be replaced once in the year
  • If you are not going to use the purifier for a long time(in case you are on a holiday tour or out of home), make sure that you disconnect the power supply, turn off the raw water supply
  • Note : Filters and membranes are consumables. Their replacement is time dependent, on the quality of raw water and water consumption, they are not covered under the warranty. The capacity of the NF purifier will reduce with time due to the clogging of pores of membranes
