GETTING STARTED

Select your brush head

  • Attach brush head.

    • Caution: Do not bend.
  • Put some toothpaste on the brush head

  • Without applying pressure: Hold the brush head half on the tooth, half on the gum.

  •  Press the button and hold it down to switch to the next mode: from «start» to «clean» to «smile». When you reach the desired mode, release the button.

TIP:

  • Clean from tooth to tooth, fully relaxed; let the bristles do the work; keep the brush as still as possible, pressing down only slightly, or ideally not at all.
  • After 30 seconds there is an interruption; this is the time it takes to clean about half a row of teeth. Of course, you may clean for longer, but the 30-second timer gives you a guide
  • After four minutes, the timer switches off the device automatically.
  • After cleaning: Rinse the brush head.
  • Remove the brush head. Caution: Do not bend.
  • TIP: You can simply take your Hydrosonic Easy with you. The battery lasts for two weeks of teeth cleaning.

CHARGING: EXTRA LONG LIFE

  • Charge the Hydrosonic Easy completely before first use.
  • Optimal battery charging time: 10 hours
  • To charge, place the Hydrosonic Easy on the charger when it is connected to the mains: Plug the charger’s USB connector into the USB adapter and plug this into the mains. You can also charge the device using the USB port on your laptop or computer.
  • You can see the charge status whenever you remove the Hydrosonic Easy from the charger or when you switch it off.
  • If the LED display is fully lit up, the battery is fully charged. The more LEDs light up, the more charged the battery is.
  • If the lowest LED lights up red instead of blue, the battery is less than 20 % charged.
  • When fully charged, the battery lasts a good 60 minutes, which equates to approximately two weeks of brushing for four minutes each day.
    • TIP: For extra long life: Do not charge the device until the battery status falls below 20 % (when the red LED lights up).
    • NOTE: The cleaning performance is not affected by the charge level. The Hydrosonic Easy cleans just as well when the battery is low as when it is fully charged.
    • CAUTION: To clean the device, wipe the handset and charger clean with a damp cloth. Never clean the charger with running water.

THE MODES

START, CLEAN, SMILE

  • The bottom LED is lit up: «start» mode stimulates circulation in the gums, with 22,000 brush strokes per minute.
  • The middle LED is lit up: «clean» mode is ideal for optimal removing plaque and bacteria, with 32,000 brush strokes per minute.
  • The top LED is lit up: «smile» mode allows you to clean susceptible teeth and gums, with 42,000 brush strokes per minute.

More information on the modes

  • So what is better, «clean» with 32,000 or «smile» with 42,000 brush strokes per minute? The latter is so fast that the filaments cannot perform the entire brush stroke. That is why it feels especially gentle, even though there is more movement. And that is why this mode is called «smile».
  • At 32,000 brush strokes per minute, the filaments can perform the full brush stroke each time, which means optimal cleaning; we call this mode «clean».
  • As an analogy, let’s say your windscreen wipers move across the screen 32,000 times per minute and in doing so reach the edge of the windscreen, giving you an optimal field of vision. If the windscreen wipers are set to 42,000 times per minute, they simply no longer have time to reach the very edge of the windscreen.
  • In the «start» mode, you increase the circulation in your gums. With 22,000 brush strokes per minute, the «start» mode is also ideal for special care of the gumline with the single brush head, see page 30. Furthermore, this mode will help you get used to the slight tingling caused by a sonic toothbrush.
    • NOTE: Every mode delivers a very good clean. Except for the «start» mode for promoting circulation and acclimatisation, all modes are strong enough to clean not just mechanically but also hydrodynamically.

CLEANING YOUR TEETH

TIPS FROM PROF. SAXER

  • • While cleaning, hold the brush at a 45-degree angle in such a way that it lies half on the gum and half on the teeth. The ergonomic hexagonal grip enables cleaning at this optimal 45-degree angle.

  • Hold the brush gently against your teeth and gums. Avoid any pressure.

  • Clean from tooth to tooth: Stay on each for two to three seconds at a 45-degree angle. Do not apply any pressure at all.

  • Tilting motion: Tilt the Hydrosonic Easy once or twice, as if trying to insert the bristles between the teeth. Do this very slowly and without applying pressure.

  • Remain on each tooth for two to three seconds while tilting the brush once or twice to thoroughly clean the recesses between the teeth.

Two-minute timer with 30-second interval

  • After 30 seconds, three short, consecutive pauses of 0.2 seconds each will indicate that it’s time to move to a different quadrant in your mouth.

  • A long interruption indicates that two minutes have passed. After four minutes, the Hydrosonic Easy turns off automatically.

  • Repeat the cleaning process for all quadrants. Make sure that you always use the same order when brushing so that you don’t skip a tooth.

  • You can clean fitted implants with the Hydrosonic just as you would clean natural teeth. You don’t need to worry if you have an implant. Interdental and/or implant brushes are highly recommended because the gum line around implants must be cleaned with special care. Please consult your dentist for advice.

For hybrid implants: The Hydrosonic is ideal for cleaning bars and buttons.

  • It is especially important that children and young people also clean chewing surfaces that may have deep trenches. Just as before and using no pressure, move the Hydrosonic from tooth to tooth, from chewing surface to chewing surface, and let the Hydrosonic do its work for two to three seconds each time.

  • For fillings, implants, crowns and veneers: Simply use the process described in these instructions.

  • According to dental recommendations, you should brush for at least two minutes. Extending this cleaning time will improve oral health. The toothbrush may be switched off at any time.

Important

  • Do not exert any pressure on the toothbrush. To ensure optimal cleaning, place the Hydrosonic Easy gently onto the surface of the tooth and clean tooth by tooth. This approach will ensure optimal prophylaxis.
  • If your gums become sensitive after the second or third use, you are not using the Hydrosonic Easy properly. Please read these instructions again carefully or consult your dental hygienist, dentist or orthodontist for advice.

Special cases

  • Upper and lower front teeth: To clean the inside part of the lower and upper front teeth, hold the Hydrosonic vertically and tilt it to the right and to the left a few times before moving on to the next tooth.

  •  Upper and lower molars: Place the Hydrosonic at an angle behind the molar and linger for two to three seconds.

SONIC TECHNOLOGY, HYDRODYNAMICS

The sonic technology enables healthy, mechanical clean-ing of the teeth, and is significantly more effective and gentle than with a manual toothbrush. At the same time, it is almost impossible to damage your gums or teeth.

  • Hydrodynamics: At 30,000 brush strokes per minute or higher, the sonic technology leads to hydrodynamic turbulence in the mixture of saliva, water and toothpaste in your mouth. This turbulence removes biofilm bacteria in places where the bristles do not reach; for example, in the spaces between your teeth.
  • When used in conjunction with CUREN® brush heads, the Hydrosonic Easy meets the highest demands in terms of mechanical and hydrodynamic cleaning.
  • As a result, Hydrosonic Easy not only cleans the teeth but to some extent also reaches between the teeth to clean the spaces in between.
  • The Hydrosonic Easy also removes millions of biofilm bacteria from the gum line and any periodontal pockets – thanks to sonic technology and hydrodynamics.

ORDER REPLACEMENT BRUSH HEADS

  • All CURAPROX brush heads are fitted with ultra-fine CUREN® filaments. With up to 42,000 brush strokes per minute, the amount of wear on the Hydrosonic Easy is extremely high. After three months at the latest, many bristles are worn out. Replace your brush head now.
  • If you wear orthodontic equipment such as brackets or braces, the amount of wear is even higher. In this case, it is best to change your brush head after seven or eight weeks. It is worth it.
    • TIP: Take a look at our kinds of toothpaste as well. They are formulated to be particularly gentle and effective. For example, they contain mild surfactants that preserve the oral mucosa and produce less foam – which even increases the hydrodynamic effect of sonic toothbrushes.
    • TIP: You can find other brush heads in specialist shops or in the online shop at www.curaprox.com.
