THERMALEC Inline Zinc anode 104 D Salt Water Swimming Pools
Installation Instructions
The Anode should be installed between the filter and the heater. The other option is between the pool pump and filter.
- After installation, attach the copper earth wire to the pool equipment copper bonding earth wire, using the bronze split bolt. (Fig. 1)
- Turn on the top in the cap feed the air out using the bleeder valve on top of the cap (Fig. 2)
The principle use of an Anode is to discharge the small electrical charge put into the swimming pool water by a salt chlorinator. The Anode attracts the charge, this charge is then discharged down the copper electrical wire to an earth terminal. The earth terminal can be the earth terminal on a piece of pool equipment (i.e pump, heater etc.) or through an earth spike.
Note
- The zinc anode will gradually sacrifice itself (erode).
- A scaly residue will occur and should be removed with sandpaper about every six months.
- The anode should be replaced when it is half its original size.
- This takes approximately three years.
- The replacement kit is part ref: TP104R-Kit (Fig. 3)
