Product Information

Product Usage Instructions
- Step 1: Ensure that the large part of the spindle is fully inserted into the knob assembly and butts up to the inside surface of the door. If not, adjust the spindle position until it is properly inserted.
- Step 2: Assemble the inside latch to the spindle. Make sure that the lock button is mounted below the handle and that the lever handle is in the correct orientation.
- Step 3: Insert the latch screws into the designated holes on the door assembly. Draw them up firmly, but avoid over-tightening them.
- Step 4: Close the door and install the strike plate. If necessary, use shims to ensure that the bolt is engaged at least 1/4 inch. Please refer to FIG. 1, FIG. 2, and FIG. 3 for visual representations of the various components and their names.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR UNIVERSAL KNOB LATCH
NOTE: Cut out drilling template and follow instructions for correct location of installation holes.
CAUTION: Locate installation so that latch will not hit entrance lock.

Step 1. With door closed place template on interior side of door at desired height with fold edge against door jamb.

Step 2. Mark hole locations at desired span of 3″ or 1-3/4″. NOTE: Use the 3″ hole spacing when replacing 1-1/2″ hole pattern.

Step 3. Drill through holes according to temlate for desired hole spacing.

Step 4. Screw adjustable bosses into outside assembly as shown (FIG. 2).

Step 5. Insert outside assembly into the door from the outside.

Step 6. From the inside, insert the spindle through the door and into the knob, making sure that the notched side of the spindle is facing down as shown (FIG. 3).
Note: Large part of spindle must butt up to inside surface of door. If it doesn’t, then the spindle is not fully inserted into the knob assembly. -
Step 7. Assemble inside latch to spindle, making sure that lock button is mounted below the handle and the lever handle is in the correct orientation.

Step 8. Insert latch screws and draw up rmly (Do not over tighten).

Step 9. Close door and install strike plate (use shims if necessary) so bolt is engaged at least 1/4″.
