OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Single Hot Plate MODEL: E4102/E4103

Thank you for the purchase of this quality KITCHEN PERFECTED product. Used
carefully and in accordance with the instructions enclosed, it should give you
trouble free service over a long period of time. Please keep these
instructions for future reference.

This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote control system.
- To prevent damage to the mains cord, do not let it pass over sharp corners, edges or hot surfaces.
- If the supply cord is damaged, do not use. Check before each use!
The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance
should be scrapped.

- To prevent against the risk of electric shock, do not submerge any part of this appliance in water, unless advised in this manual.
- This appliance should only be used on a flat surface.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with this appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
WARNING
- Ensure adequate space around, above and beneath to permit free circulation of air around the appliance.
- Suitable heat resistant containers should be used with this appliance. Do not use containers that may melt or crack with the high temperature.
- Always turn off and allow time to cool before moving or storing appliance.

the appliance to overheat.
LOCATION OF CONTROLS
A – 185mm Diameter Cast Iron Hotplate
Place suitable containers such as a frying pan onto the hotplate in order to
cook food. Caution: the surface gets extremely hot and can cause serious
burns. Do not attempt to cook food directly on the hotplate.
B – Adjustable Temperature Control
Use this control to adjust the temperature accordingly. Turn the dial to MAX
for a high heat, 3 – 4 for a medium heat and 1 – 2 for a low heat. Turn the
dial to OFF to disengage the unit.
C – Temperature Indicator Light
When operating the adjustable temperature control, the indicator light will
turn on to indicate that the hot plate is heating up to that setting. Once the
corresponding temperature for that setting is reached, the indicator light
will turn off to signify that it is ready for use.
D – Non-slip Rubber Feet
This product comes equipped with non-slip rubber feet to provide grip,
preventing the unit from sliding around on work surfaces.
E – Mains Cord
Connect the mains cord to a_ suitable 220-240v~50/60HZ mains power supply.
OPERATION
BEFORE USE
- CLEAN the hot plate with a SOFT, DAMP cloth before placing iton toa FLAT, STABLE surface close to a suitable mains power supply.
- CHECK that the voltage marked on the product CORRESPONDS to the mains supply voltage. If you are unsure, contact a qualified electrician. UK mains voltage is 220-240v~50/60Hz.
- Always use FLAT BOTTOM SAUCEPANS or containers that make close contact with the heating element along the entire base of that container. Saucepans or containers should be 185mm — 200mm in diameter.
- ENSURE the surface of the hot plate is kept completely CLEAN and DRY before use.
- DO NOT use plastic, ABS or other combustible items on or near this appliance.
Note: During first use, there may be a harmless odour and smoke omitted
from the surface of the heating element. This is completely normal and should
not cause alarm. It is caused by an invisible protective coating during
production. The odour will recede shortly after approximately 10 seconds.
Although the odour is harmless, it is advisable to keep away from sensitive
skin.
OPERATION

POSITION the hotplate on a dry, stable and heat resistant surface.
-
CONNECT the mains cord to a suitable 220-240v~50/60HZ mains power supply.

POSITION a suitable container, such as a saucepan, onto the hotplate, in which food will be cooked.
DO NOT
Do not place food directly onto the hotplate. -
TURN the adjustable temperature control dial ANTI-CLOCKWISE from the ‘off position to the required temperature setting. If you need a HIGH HEAT, TURN the dial, to MAX. To operate at LOW or MEDIUM HEATS, TURN the dial to any of the other settings ACCORDINGLY.

During step 4, the temperature indicator light AUTOMATICALLY switches ON to show that the heating element is OPERATIONAL and heating up to the required temperature. Once the required temperature is reached the light will AUTOMATICALLY switch OFF indicating that it is READY for use.

During use, the temperature can be adjusted HIGHER or LOWER using the adjustable temperature control dial IF NECESSARY.

Once cooking is complete, SWITCH the appliance OFF by turning the adjustable temperature control dial CLOCKWISE to the ‘OFF’ position and UNPLUG the appliance from the mains supply socket.
DO NOT
Do not attempt to clean the appliance until it has completely cooled down as
the hot surface can cause serious burns.
FITTING A NEW UK PLUG
Your appliance operates on 220-240V~50Hz AC Mains and comes fitted with a
3-pin BSI Approved plug, so that it is ready for use for the UK or Eire
market. If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead
must be connected as shown below:
IMPORTANT:
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following
code:
- BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)
- BROWN: LIVE (L)
- GREEN AND YELLOW: EARTH (E)
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter “N” or coloured BLACK. The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter “L” or coloured RED. The GREEN AND YELLOW
wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “E”,
the symbol **or coloured GREEN.
DO NOT CONNECT EITHER WIRE ‘L’ OR ‘N’ TO THE EARTH TERMINAL OF A 3-PIN
PLUG**
Always ensure that the Mains Cord is located into the Plug through the Cord
Guard or Cable Clamp, and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp
the Cord (outer sheath and inner coloured wires) in position in the Plug. Make
sure the Plug top is also fitted securely.
The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the supply cord is damaged, the
appliance should be scrapped.
This appliance must be protected by a 13 Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363)
plug. Should you need to replace the fuse, use only an ASTA approved BS1362
fuse.
CLEANING AND CARE
MAINTENANCE
This appliance has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a
minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care and regular
cleaning.
WARNING
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning on this appliance, disconnect
the appliance from the electricity supply.
- UNPLUG the appliance and WAIT for it to cool BEFORE cleaning.
- CLEAN the appliance using a CLEAN, DAMP cloth.
- ENSURE that the appliance is DRIED THOROUGHLY before re-use.
DO NOT
Do not use abrasive cleaners on any part of this appliance.
STORAGE
Only store the product in environments ranging from 5°C to 23°C ambient
temperature. Failure to comply could result in damage to the product.

DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
** Do not dispose of this product with household waste. For the proper
treatment, recovery and recycling please take this product to the appropriate
waste collection point. If you are unsure where this may be, please contact
