IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
When using your electric oven, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.
  3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  4. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or any parts of the oven in water or any other liquids.
  5. Do not let cord hang over the edge of tables or counters, or touch hot surfaces.
  6. Do not operate appliances with damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to its authorized agent for repair, as special purpose tools are required.
  7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazard or injury.
  8. Do not place unit on or near a hot gas or electric burner.
  9. When operating the oven, keep at least four inches of free space on all sides of the oven to allow for adequate air circulation.
  10. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
  11. To disconnect, turn the time control to OFF, then remove the plug. Always hold the plug, and never pull the cord.
  12. Extreme caution must be used when moving a drip pan containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  13. Do not cover crumb tray or any part of the oven with metal foil. This may cause the oven to overheat.
  14. Use extreme caution when removing the tray, racks or disposing of hot grease or other hot liquids.
  15. Do not clean the inside of the oven with metal scouring pads, pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.
  16. Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric risk.
  17. A fire may occur if the oven is covered or touching flammable material, including the curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Do not store any item on top of the appliance when in operation.
  18. Extreme cautions should be exercised when using cooking or baking containers constructed of anything other than metal or ovenproof glass.
  19. Be sure that nothing touches the top or bottom elements of the oven.
  20. Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: cardboard, plastic, paper , or anything similar.
  21. Do not store any materials other than manufacturer’s recommended accessories in this oven when not in use.
  22. Always wear protective, insulated oven gloves when inserting or removing items from the hot oven.
  23. This appliance has a tempered, safety glass door. The glass is stronger than ordinary glass and more resistant to breakage. Tempered glass can still break around edges. Avoid scratching door surfaces or nicking edges.
  24. This appliance is OFF when the Timer Control button is in the “OFF” position.
  25. Do not use outdoors.
  26. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

BEFORE FIRST USING TOASTER OVEN

Before using your toaster oven for the first time, you must:

  1. Make sure that the oven is unplugged, then,
  2. Wash all the accessories in hot, soapy water or in the dishwasher.
  3. Thoroughly dry all accessories and re-assemble the oven, connect the power supply.
  4. After re–assembling your oven, we recommend that you run it at the highest temperature (450ºF) on the toast function (upper & lower heating) for 15 minutes to eliminate any packing residue that may remain after shipping. This will also remove all traces of odor initially present.

NOTE: Initial start-up operation may result in minimal smell and smoke (about 15 minutes). This is normal and harmless. It is due to burning of the protective substance applied to the heating elements in the factory.

OVEN FUNCTIONS

  • Temperature Control (C): Choose the desired temperature clockwise up to 450ºF for cooking.
  • Function Control (E): This oven has four main cooking functions.
    • BAKE
    • CONVECTION BAKE – Uses a fan to circulate the heat for quicker and even baking
    • BROIL
    • TOAST
  • Timer Control (F): Turn the knob clockwise to the desired time, the power light will light up. Max. time is 60 minutes.
    • If you hear a bell ring, it means the timer has ended. Timer knob also doubles as a switch for “ON/OFF”.
    • When turned to “STAY ON”, the toaster oven is set for continuous heating.
    • When set to “OFF” then the toaster oven is off, and will not heat.
  • Indicator Light (D): When lit, indicates the oven is “ON”, and may be hot.
  • Bake Tray (L): For broiling and roasting meat, poultry, fish and various other foods.
  • Wire Rack (M): For toasting, baking, and general cooking in casserole dishes and standard pans.
  • Crumb Tray (N): Used to collect

CAUTION: Always use extreme care when removing the bake tray, wire rack or any hot container from a hot oven. Always use the rack handle, or an oven mitt when removing hot items from the oven.

OPERATIONS SEQUENCE

  1. Place food on bake tray or wire rack.
  2. Place the bake tray or wire rack on an appropriate level to accommodate food. To avoid fire, do not over stuff the oven with excessive food, in height or size.
  3. Choose an appropriate temperature using the temperature knob.
  4. Choose an appropriate function using the function knob.
  5. Choose time according to food size, and cook doneness.
  6. After cooking, ensure that knobs are set to OFF position.
  7. To avoid burning, remove the bake tray or wire rack with oven mitts.

PLEASE NOTE: Materials such as plastic, paper, glass and ceramic are prohibited in oven, heat may cause breakage or fire. Use bake trays for fatty foods to prevent grease from dripping inside and damaging the unit.

FUNCTION LEVEL “BAKE”

Use the BAKE function to bake meats, boil stews, and braise soups. For best results, it is recommended that you preheat the oven for 15 minutes on 450ºF.

Operation:

  • Place the wire rack or bake tray at the lowest or middle rack support guide.
  • Place food on the wire rack or bake tray and slide into the rack.
  • Food should be placed as close as possible to the lower heating element without touching it.
  • Set temperature control to appropriate temperature.
  • Turn the function control to “BAKE”.
  • Set the timer after the power indicator light comes on.

FUNCTION LEVEL “CONVECTION BAKE”

Use the CONVECTION BAKE function to bake meats, boil stews, and braise soups using convection. For best results, it is recommended that you preheat the oven for 15 minutes on 450ºF.

Operation:

  • Place the wire rack or bake tray at the lowest or middle rack support guide.
  • Place food on the wire rack or bake tray and slide into the rack.
  • Food should be placed as close as possible to the lower heating element without touching it.
  • Set temperature control to appropriate temperature.
  • Turn the function control to “CONVECTION BAKE”.
  • Set the timer after the power indicator light comes on.

FUNCTION LEVEL “BROIL”

Use the BROIL function to broil fish, beef, and vegetables. For best results, it is recommended that you preheat the oven for 15 minutes on 450ºF.

Operation:

  • Place the wire rack or bake tray at the upper rack support guide.
  • Place food to be cooked on a roasting pan and slide into the rack. The bake tray (broil/drip pan) can also be used as a roasting pan.
  • Set temperature control to appropriate temperature.
  • Turn the function control to “BROIL”.
  • Set the timer after the power indicator light comes on.

FUNCTION LEVEL “TOAST”

Use the TOAST function to toast breads, pizza, cookies, steaks, etc. For best results, it is recommended that you preheat the oven for 15 minutes on 450ºF.

Operation:

  • Place the wire rack or bake tray at the lowest or middle rack support guide.
  • Place food on the wire rack or bake tray and slide into the rack.
  • Set temperature control to appropriate temperature.
  • Turn the function control to “TOAST”.
  • Set the timer after the power indicator light comes on.

COOKING SUGGESTION

  1. Adjust cooking temperature and time to suit the food to be cooked. Use the Time and Temperature reference if cooking instructions are missing from food.
  2. Overheating Protection: Once the oven reaches the designated temperature, the thermostat will turn heating elements off automatically. When the temperature drops inside the oven, heating elements will turn back on.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Be sure to unplug the oven and let it cool before cleaning.

  2. This oven features a continuous clean coating that automatically cleans itself during normal operation.
    A. Any spattering that occurs while cooking and comes into contact with the continuous coating is oxidized while the oven is in operation. If desired, wipe the walls with a damp sponge, cloth or nylon scouring pad and mild detergent.
    B. DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL SCOURING PADS, ABRASIVE CLEANERS OR SCRAPE THE WALLS WITH A METAL UTENSIL, AS ALL OF THESE METHODS MAY DAMAGE THE CONTINUOUS CLEAN COATING.

  3. All accessories should be washed in hot soapy water or can be cleaned in a dishwasher. The door can be wiped with a damp sponge and wiped dry with a paper or cloth towel. Clean the outside with a damp sponge.
    A. DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE CLEANER AS IT MAY DAMAGE THE EXTERIOR FINISH.
    B. DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE CLEANER OR STEEL WOOL SCOURING PAD ON BAKE TRAY AS IT MAY DAMAGE THE PORCELAIN ENAMEL FINISH.
    C. LET ALL PARTS AND SURFACES DRY THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO PLUGGING OVEN IN AND USING.

  4. Do not need to wipe the heating elements, they keep cleaning automatically.

  5. Do not submerge the oven into water or other liquids.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (US)

Courant™ warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship to the original purchaser as specified below. Please be sure that the product is registered online within fourteen (14) days of pur- chase

PARTS – if the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect, within a pe- riod of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase, Courant™ will repair or replace the product parts at no charge (for parts) to consumers in the U.S.A. and Can- ada.

LABOR – if the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect, within a period of ninety (90) Days from the date of the original purchase, Courant™ will re- pair or replace the product at no charge to consumers in the U.S.A. and Canada. After ninety (90) days, it will be the responsibility of the consumer

Shipping costs to and from our warranty service cen- ter are the sole responsibility of the consumer.

[email protected] to obtain a Repair and Maintenance Authorization (RMA) number and to locate the War- ranty Service Center nearest you. Once authorized, you must mail the product to the authorized Cou- rant™ service center in its original product packaging materials or equivalent, to prevent damage while in transit.

Further, should Courant™ determine that the prod- uct is outside of the Warranty terms, Courant™ will return the product to sender at sender’s expense without being repaired or replaced, unless autho- rized by the consumer to service the out-of-warranty product at consumer’s expense. All handling or re- stocking charges for returns and/or replacements shall be non-refundable.

Courant™ specifically excludes from this warranty any non-electric/mechanical attachments, accesso- ries, and disposable parts including, but not limited to, outside case, connecting cables, batteries, and AC adapters. Courant™ reserves the right to repair or replace defective products with the same, equiva- lent, or newer models.

We reserve the right to either repair or replace prod- uct at our discretion. Replacement may be either new or refurbished and while every endeavor will be made to ensure it is the same model, if same model is not available, it will be replaced with a model of equal or higher specification.

Normal “Wear and Tear” is not covered by this, or any other, warranty. Further, Courant™ hereby re- serves the right to determine “Wear and Tear” on any and all products. Tampering or opening the product casing or shell will void this warranty in its entirety.

In addition, this warranty does not apply if the prod- uct has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication; has been altered or modified without the written permission of Courant™; has been serviced by a non- authorized repair center of Courant™; has not been properly maintained or op- erated according to the operation manual; has been used for commercial, non- household purposes; has been cosmetically damaged; was not imported by Courant™; was not manufactured according to spec- ification of the United States market; was damaged due to improper installation or neglect by the con- sumer; was damaged due to improper packaging in shipment to the Warranty Service Center; was dam- aged due to natural disasters; or if the serial number for the product has been removed or defaced.

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN DURA- TION TO ONE (1) YEAR PARTS AND NINETY (90) DAYS LABOR FROM THE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL RETAIL PURCHASE OF THIS PRODUCT.

THESE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE AND USE OF THE PRODUCT. NO OTHER WARRANTIES, ORAL OR WRIT- TEN, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ARE GIVEN.
