PREPARING THE DEVICE FOR WORK
Insert the batteries into the device, observing correct polarity [ATTENTION – only alkaline batteries should be used with the device!!!].
ATTENTION! BEFORE MEASUREMENT!
Rinse your mouth after drinking the alcohol and wait 30 minutes. This amount of time is crucial for the alcohol to absorb into your bloodstream and to reduce the alcohol vapours in your mouth and saliva. For the correct results, do not eat, drink or smoke cigarettes for min. 30 minutes before taking the measurement. Do not take measurements in strong winds, in air-conditioned rooms, or in polluted air. Do not use immediately after hand disinfection or in the rooms with present disinfectants. Many factors may interfere with the measurement results (heavy environmental pollution, smoking, various gas vapors, wind, air conditioning, alcohol vapors coming from disinfectants), hence the results presented by the breathalyzer are only estimates. The manufacturer, importer and seller do not bear any responsibility for the correctness of the results and potential damage caused by improper use of the breathalyzer. In line with the Polish law, the device cannot be used as an evidence breathalyzer.
- Insert the mouthpiece into the measuring hol e ( 1 ). Turn on the device by pressing the function button on the main panel ( 2).
- After starting the device, you will hear a single beep. The display will show three eight notes and all the indicator lights will turn on. Then the message On will appear. The breathalyzer will display the number of measurements already performed and start preparing for the test, counting from 150 to 0.
- The device is ready to take an air sample. Take a deep breath and blow into the mouthpiece for approx. 6 sec. The device will beep continuously while taking a sample.
- End of the sound signal. The breathalyzer analyzes the collected sample.
- After analyzing the sample, the breathalyzer will display the result. The measurement result from 0.O0to 0.50 %o is also signaled by the green diode. If the result exceeds 0.50 %o the red “WARN” diode will light up.
- After about 20 seconds the result will disappear and the breathalyzer will display the message OFF and shut off automatically.
HOURLY ALCOHOL ELIMINATION
The alcohol level in blood and exhaled air changes over time. At first, it increases during the absorption of alcohol into the blood, then decreases during its elimination (burning) in the body. A breathalyzer can help you estimate which phase you are in: alcohol concentration increase or elimination. To obtain a reliable result, take measurements when you no longer intend to consume alcohol. We suggest to make min. 3 measurements at equal 30 minute intervals and to record the individual results. Comparison of these results will give an answer to the question in which phase you are- using 3 decreasing results obtained in equal intervals it is possible to estimate when the body will get rid of alcohol.
MESSAGES
- Provided air sample is too small. Perform the measurement again providing a strong and steady exhalation.
- Low voltage. The device turns off. Replace the batteries.
- The sensor calibration is required. Contact the service center. More information available from the page 8
- Measurement result above 4.00 %o. The measurement was probably taken immediately after drinking alcohol. Wait 30 minutes before the next test. If the message persists, please contact the service center.
- The ambient temperature outside the device operating temperature range (5° -40°(). The breathalyzer switches off.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you have the impression that your breathalyzer is not working properly, we recommend to check the following:
- The use of old or improper batteries may affect the accuracy of the results. Use only high-quality alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
- Decalibration of the breathalyzer. Each breathalyzer should be calibrated in accordance with its technical specification. For 12 months from the purchase of the breathalyzer, we will perform the calibration service for FREE!!! For more information, please visit alcoforce.com.
- Everyone has a different ability to metabolize alcohol, and this ability may change from time to time depending on various factors. If your Professional breathalyzer is regularly calibrated according to the service interval and you use it according to the instructions and the following three results are similar, it is most likely working properly. - Store in a dry place, avoid direct exposure to sunlight and temperatures outside the range of Oto 40 °C. Do not keep in the car!

- Do not store the breathalyzer close to volatile substances, including alcohol. Do not blow fluids and fumes into the sensor and do not immerse the device in fluids. Do not clean the device with detergents.

*CAUTION. Applies to first user purchase.
CALIBRATION
Calibration is a term inextricably linked with EVERY BREATHALYZER.
This means that every 12 months, the breathalyzer must be reconfigured so that
it correctly interprets the readings of the wearing-out sensor. The
appropriate messages displayed on the device indicate the need for calibration
(page 5) as well as the results that differ significantly from reality, e.g.
0.5 %o despite the lack of alcohol consumption.
The necessity of calibration is not a disadvantage of the breathalyzer and
is not subject to complaint.
Please do not expect that a breathalyzer that is not calibrated regularly will
show the correct results. Calibrations after the free service period are
chargeable and can be made at the premises of ALCOFORCE / WORK AND ROAD SAFE1Y
CORPORATION (also by mail order) or at another authorized breathalyzer service
point. Additional information can be found in the Warranty Card on page 9.
