QuickStart – Get Up & Running Fast

A. Handheld Microphone and two Duet Speakers

  1. Charge Components GoSpeak! Duet’s Speakers, Handheld Wireless Microphone, and Lavalier Transmitter can be operated either on battery power or while charging. Generally, however, confirm that they are fully charged before use. See ‘Charging GoSpeak! Duet:
  2. Power Up Speaker(s) Positioning Duet speakers around the room for maximum coverage, press (and hold for 5 seconds) the speaker’s Power/ On/Off button. An audible prompt will confirm, ‘Power On: Repeat the step with the second speaker.
  3. Use the Handheld Microphone To activate your Handheld Wireless Microphone, press the microphone’s On/Off/Pairing button three times in rapid succession. Your microphone should now be operational. If feedback occurs, reduce the volume level of the speakers: repositioning them to be more in front of you in the room.

B. Lavalier Microphone with Two Duet Speakers

  1. Charge Components GoSpeak! Duet’s Speakers, Handheld Wireless Microphone, and LavalierTransmitter can be operated either on battery power or while charging. Generally, however, confirm that they are fully charged before use. See’Charging GoSpeak! Duet:
  2. Power Up Speaker(s) Positioning Duet speakers around the room for maximum coverage, press (and hold for 5 seconds) the speaker’s Power/ On/Off button. An audible prompt will confirm, ‘Power On: Repeat the step with the second speaker.
  3. Use the Lavalier Microphone Plug your Lavalier Microphone into its LavalierTransmitter. Turn on the transmitter using the rotary On/Off/ Volume control. If feedback occurs, reduce the volume level of the speakers: repositioning them to be more in front of you in the room.

C. Both Microphones with Two Speakers

  2. Power Up Speaker(s) Positioning Duet speakers around the room for maximum coverage, press (and hold for 5 seconds) the speaker’s Power/ On/Off button .. An audible prompt will confirm, ‘Power On: Repeat step with the second speaker.
  3. Power Up Microphones Turn on the Handheld Wireless Microphone by pressing and holding the On/Off/Pairing button for five seconds. Plug the Lavalier Microphone into its transmitter. Turn on the transmitter by turning the rotary On/OffNolume dial. If feedback occurs, reduce the volume level of the speakers or reposition them to face away from you.

Playing Audio Content

In addition to its handheld and lavalier wireless microphones, GoSpeak! Duet is configured to amplify external audio from a variety of sources including cable-connected audio electronics and Bluetooth” wireless devices.

  1. Direct Connection Powering on a Duet speaker, connect to external audio sources using the 1/S” stereo cable (supplied), routing one end to the aux” speaker input (right side), and the other to your audio source. Activate direct connection audio by pressing and holding the M key on the top of the speaker.
  2. Bluetootlf’ Powering on a Duet speaker, enable Bluetooth on your external audio device. Follow the device prompts from your device, selecting ‘GoSpeak!’ to wirelessly pair the speaker. Adjust the volume using the speaker volume controls, those on your external device, or both.

Charging GoSpeak! Duet

Your GoSpeak! Duet is environmentally friendly, with all components using ‘green’ rechargeable batteries. While providing for easy setup and use, it also means that GoSpeak! Duet components must be charged from time to time.

  • Charging Duet Speakers Charging your Duet speakers is easy. Insert the AC Adapter cable (supplied) into the speaker’s charging port (right side), and plug the Adapter into an AC outlet. The Battery Charge indicator will show four solid bars when charging is complete (3~5 hours).
  • Charging the Handheld Microphone When its On/Off/Power button starts to flash red, it’s time to charge your Handheld Wireless Microphone. Insert the Micro USB end of the charging cable (supplied) into the microphone’s charging port, and the other to an AC/USB Plug (supplied). Plug the AC/USB Plug into a wall outlet to begin charging. When complete, the mic’s On/Off Power button glows solid (3~5 hours).
  • Charging the Lavalier Transmitter When the LavalierTransmitter’s Battery Indicator begins to glow yellow, its battery is at 50% power. When the button starts to glow red, the transmitter will need to be charged again soon. Insert the Micro USB end of the charging cable into the transmitter charging port, and the other to an AC/USB Plug. Plug the AC/USB Plug into a wall outlet to begin charging. Charging is complete when the transmitter’s Battery Indicator glows solid blue (3~5 hours).

Troubleshooting – Pairing Components

Both the Handheld Wireless Microphone and the LavalierTransmitter are pre- paired at the factory with your GoSpeak! Duet speakers. Should your GoSpeak! need to be paired again, pair all items in the system by following these simple steps:

  1. Press (holding for 5 seconds) the Power/On/Off on both speakers to turn them on.
  2. Press (holding for 5 seconds) the UHF Button on both speakers, putting them in pairing mode. The status LED on each speaker will blink when ready.
  3. With both speakers in UHF paring mode, press (holding for 5 seconds) the wireless microphone’s On/Off/Pairing button, turning the microphone on.
  4. Now, tap the microphone’s On/Off/Pairing button 3 times in succession to pair it with your speakers. The status LEDs on each speaker will turn solid when the pairing is complete. Leave the microphone on after pairing.
  5. Finally, repeat Step 2 above to put your speakers back in UHF pairing mode. Plug the Lavalier microphone into its wireless transmitter. Power up the transmitter using its rotary switch. Press and briefly hold the Pair button on the transmitter to connect it to your speakers.
  6. Confirm that your Wireless Microphone and your Lavalier Microphone are now being heard through both speakers.

Warranty

SMK-Link Electronics Corporation (SMK-Link) warrants to the original end-user purchaser of the Product (“you”) that the Product, excluding batteries, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the date of purchase. If the Product becomes defective in materials or workmanship during the warranty period, SMK-Link will, at its option, either repair or replace it. The replacement unit may be a more current or upgraded model if the originally purchased model is not available. Any Product repaired or replaced under the tents of the warranty is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days from the date of the return shipment, whichever is longer.

This warranty does not cover Products that have been subjected to misuse, accident, physical damage, improper installation, abnormal operation or handling, neglect, inundation, or fire or when the Product regulatory label has been removed, altered, or rendered illegible; nor does it cover accessory or consumable items.

SMK-Link shall not be liable for any indirect special, incidental, or consequential damages. SMK-Link’s total liability for damages for any cause related to, or arising out of, the use or inability to use the Product shall not exceed the original price paid for the Product even if SMK-Link has been informed of such possibility.

If your Product requires service under warranty, you must first contact SMK- Link product support to receive an RMA number. Shipping of defective units back to SMK-Link is at your expense. The contact information can be found on the SMKLink website: www.smklink.com.

The warranty does not affect your statutory rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state and country to country. This warranty is understood to be the complete and exclusive agreement between the parties, superseding all prior agreements, oral or written, and all other communications between the parties relating to the matter of this warranty.
