Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Positioning of the Awning
- The adapters should be placed as close as possible to the end of the awning.
- Start by placing the front adapter on the straight part of the roof, immediately after the elevation, 17 to 20 cm from the front door.
- Position the adapter in a way that it fits the curve of the roof. The adapter should lean 2 degrees backwards.
- Mark the spots on the roof where the holes need to be drilled.
Step 2: Fixation of the Brackets with Rivets
- Drill 5 mm holes and surround them with acid-free silicone.
- Apply SIKA 252 glue on the ribbed surfaces of the adapter.
- Attach the adapter to the roof using rivets.
Variant: Fixation of the Brackets with Screws
- In this case, drill holes with a diameter of 4mm.
Step 3: Fixation of the Awning
- Hang the awning on the adapters.
- Tighten the awning by turning the self-boring 4.2 plate screws through the holes at the front of the adapter.
Remarks for Use:
- In order not to dent the van body, never fully extend the Thule Omnistor 5200 awning without deploying the supporting arms. Please refer to the installation instructions of Thule Omnistor 5200 for further details.
- Regularly check the fixation of the adapters on the van to ensure secure attachment.

Positioning the awning

Attach the adapters as close as possible to the far ends of the awning.

First place the adapter – at the front – on the straight part of the roof immediately after the elevation, 17 to 20 cm from the front door (fig. 1)

Position the adapter in this way that it fits the curve of the roof. The adapter leans 2 degrees backwards.

Mark on the roof where the holes need to be drilled (fig. 2).
Fixation of the brackets with rivets
- Drill 5 mm holes and surround the holes with acid free silicone.
- Put SIKA 252 glue on the ribbed surfaces (fig. 3).
- Attach the adapter with the rivets (fig. 4).
Variant: Fixation of the brackets with screws – In this case, drill with a diameter of 4mm.
Fixation of the awning
- Hang the awning on the adapters.
- Tighten the awning by turning the 4,2 plate screws through the holes at the front of the adapter (fig.5).
Remarks for use
- In order not to dint the van body, never turn out the Thule Omnistor 5200 awning completely without putting out the supporting arms. See installation instructions of Thule Omnistor 5200.
- Check the fixation of the brackets on the van regularly.
