HOBBYWING Datalink V2 Communication Device Firmware
Product Information
The Datalink Firmware Upgrade GuideCAN is a tool designed for upgrading the
firmware of Tools Datalink V2. It is compatible with Type-C Cable for
communication between the tool and the device. The upgrade process requires
the use of specific software.
Product Usage Instructions
- Select the “CAN->ESC(FAST)” mode in the software.
- Click OK to confirm the mode selection.
- Click on “Communication Settings” to proceed.
- Scan for the device by following the instructions provided by the software.
- Power on your ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) after scanning.
- Click Stop to halt the scanning process.
- The ESC information will be displayed on the screen, indicating successful communication.
- In the software, click on the drop-down list at “Available version”.
- Select the firmware version that you want to update.
- Click on “Update” to initiate the upgrade process.
- Wait for the upgrade to complete.
- After the upgrade is finished, refer to page 8 of the user manual for instructions on how to verify the success of the upgrade.
- If the upgrade fails due to accidental power-off or any other reasons, repeat all the upgrade steps again.

TIPS
- Please power Datalink by USB port only.
- The ESC requires power supply in the upgrade process. The details will show below.
- It supports upgrading only one ESC at the same time, using the ”- CH1 CL1 +” port.
- The yellow cable is GND, the middle one cable is CH, and the green cable is CL. No need to connect the positive pole cable. If the colors of your ESC’s cables are different with this, please check the cable definition on the user manual.
- Whether the black and white cable is plugged in or not will not affect the upgrade.
- If the LED light flashes red, it is abnormal. Please try to upgrade the firmware of Datalink, or contact our after-sales service.
Software
Tips:
Select ”CAN->ESC(FAST) ” mode, click OK, and then click ”Communication
Settings”.
After scanning, power on your ESC. Then click Stop, the ESC informations will be displayed on the screen. That means the communication succeeded.
Click out the drop-down list at ”Available version”, select the firmware version that you want and click ”Update”
Waiting for the upgrade complete.
After the upgrade is completed, repeat the steps as page 8 to check whether the upgrade is successful or not. If upgrade failed by powering off by accident during upgrading or other cases, please try all upgrade steps again.
