SAFETY HINTS

Keep this information safely. The instructions contain important information as to safety and operation of the heater.
Caution!
Inappropriate use of the heater involves risk. For a safe use pay attention to the following measures:
CALF MILK AND FEED HEATER – SAFETY REGULATIOS

  1. Do not expose plastic top and plug of heater to water or other liquids.

  2. Avoid cable damage:
    – Do not pull heater on the cable.
    – Do not pull off the mains plug by pulling the cable.

  3. Protect the cable against sharp edges, oil and heat.

  4. If the heater is not in use, disconnect the plug from the a.c. system.

  5. For inspection or maintenance work always disconnect the heater cable from the power supply.

  6. Please do not remove the attached lids and screws. Always pay attention to the completeness of the heater.

  7. This unit /device is not intended to be operated by an external timer or by a separate telecontrol system.

  8. This unit /device can be used by children aged 8 and over and by persons with reduced physical, sensoric or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or instructed concerning the safe use of the unit /device and understand the resulting risks.

  9. Children must not play with the unit /device. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.

  10.  The power supply cable of this unit /device must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or by a similarly qualified person if the power supply cable is damaged. This must be done to avoid a hazard.

  11. Avoid any contact with the heated heating device.

  12. Always store your heater in a clean and dry place which is out of reach for children and animals.

PRECAUTIONS FOR THE CALF MILK AND FEED HEATER

  1. The heater may only be operated with the stipulated voltage on the type label.
  2. Do not open or repair the heater yourself.
  3. The maximum immersion depth of the heater is marked on the heater tube. Never ever immerse the heater beyond the maximum immersion depth.

GENERAL HINTS AND MEASURES

  1. Use the heater only for the purpose described within the instructions.
  2. Never ever touch the liquid, whilst the heater is still connected to the power supply and whilst it is still immersed in the liquid.
  3. Heating liquids is only permitted when children are kept away from heating place.
  4. Never ever work with a damaged heater. Get the heater checked immediately for any faults and get it repaired only through a licensed specialist.
  5. Never ever heat close to explosive materials, objects or gases.

PRODUCT SPECIFIC REGULATIONS

  1. Application
    The heater is exclusively designed for heating milk, oil, fat, wine, fruit juice, must, honey and feed in connection with liquids.

  2. Use
    The safety regulations have to be respected by all means. When working with electrical devices a safety plug should be used at any time. Before starting- up the heater it is imperative to carefully read the instructions. The correct setting of the temperature is
    described in detail within the instructions.

  3. Maintenance
    Check all fixing screws of the heater regularly for firm fit/positioning. Loosened screws and nuts have to be screwed tightly right away. Neglecting this point may lead to significant danger. The heater should be cleaned after every use. Cleaning the outside of the plastic top should only be carried out with a soft cloth or soap sud humid cloth unless it is free from benzine or dissolvent which may affect or damage the plastic housing. The heating element of the heater may only be cleaned with lukewarm soap sud and a hand brush.

Pay attention to the following prior to start-up operation:

  1. Connect the heater only to power sockets that have been installed by a concessionary electrician. For best possible protection of persons and facilities a safety protector switch (FI) 30 mA is mandatory.

  2. The heater may only be used in suitable containers (no plastic containers and no containers that are not heat resistant).

  3. Do not touch liquids, when the heater is connected to the power supply.

  4. Whilst heating up, the liquid may not drop below the upper edge of the heater (see Fig.).

  5. Do not cover up unit during operation.

  6. The thermostat controls the temperature by automatically switching the current on and off:
    – button set to position „2“ corresponds to a temperature of ca. +20° C.
    – button set to position „7“ corresponds to a temperature of ca. +40° C.
    – button set to position „11“ corresponds to a temperature of ca. +70° C.
    – button set to position „max“ corresponds to a temperature of ca. +100° C.

  7. During heating, the red indicator light flashes. Once the thermostat cuts off, the indicator light stops flashing.

  8. When the desired temperature has been reached, disconnect the plug from the power socket and leave the heater for about one more minute within the liquid.

  9. Unplug the heater before taking it off the liquid.

  10. The heating element remains hot for a certain period in time even after disconnecting he plug and should neither be touched nor put onto combustible surfaces.

  11. The unit has to be cleaned after each and every use.

  12. ATTENTION!!! Neither plastic lid nor plug may be immersed into liquid. Pay attention to “peak level” position.

  13. Do not leave the unit totally unobserved.

  14. All repair work, e.g. the exchange of the connection lead may only be carried out through Lister GmbH or an authorized specialist.

The device is delivered on the basis of the general terms and conditions of the company Lister which however do not apply to consumers. In addition to the statutory guarantee (of 2 years regarding a consumer goods purchase act and of 1 year to companies) we grant a warranty of 12 months.
The guarantee duty starts with the day of the sale. This duty will not come into effect if:

  1. The device will be defective by non-compliance of the operating instructions and safety instructions.
  2. It was connected to the wrong voitage. .
  3. Damages occur caused by external forces.
  4. Changes at the device were made.
  5. Damages occur caused by force majeure.
  6. Repairs were not realized by a licensed master electrician
  7. The device was opened.

In case of failure the device has to be sent to your dealer or to LISTER GmbH – Lidenscheid – in its original packaging enclosing the filled-in guarantee- and warranty card.
The cash voucher or the invoice is considered to be the proof of purchase if the dealer’s stamp on the guarantee- and warranty card is not present.
It is necessary that your specialist dealer first of all has to check the objected device regarding a guarantee- and warranty claim before returning it to the LISTER GmbH.
When returning the device it is important to describe the nature of the complaint as specific as possible.
Costs incurred by unjustified complaints will be charged to the owner of the device.
