INSERTING & REMOVING MICRO SD CARD
Inserting the Micro SD Card
Push the Micro SD Card into the card slot until you hear the clicking sound.
(Make sure the metal contact of the Micro SD Card facing upwards)
Removing the Micro SD Card
Ensure the dash cam is turned off or not in recording. Then gently push the
edge of the Micro SD Card with your fingernail, the card will spring out far
enough to be removed.
NOTE
- The Micro SD card is not included.
- Supports Micro SD Card 8GB-128GB.
- Format the Micro SD card if it has been used for an extended period without formatting.
- When the Micro SD card is unplugged, the dash cam will shut down.
- Ensure that the product is turned off before removing the Micro SD card. The recorded video files may be corrupted or lost if you remove the Micro SD card while the dash cam is on.
INSTALLATION
Step 1
- Connect the car charger’s Type C port to the dash cam.
- Insert the car charger into the cigarette lighter port of the vehicle to power up the dash cam.
Step2
Choosing a suitable installation position, which can record the entire view of
the front of the vehicle without interfering with the driver’s vision.
Step 3
After determining the installation position, wipe the windshield with a dry
cloth and apply an electrostatic sticker.
Step4
Remove the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the back of the dash
camera, and then press the dash camera into place to ensure that it is
securely fastened.
Step 5
Set the camera angle appropriately to ensure that the entire view in front of
the vehicle is recorded.
Step6
Sort out the charging line, and installation is completed.

THREE MODES OF DASH CAM
Recording Mode
Power on the dash cam and it will automatically enter the recording mode.

Operation in Recording Mode
Power ON/OFF
- When you start the engine, the camera will turn on and automatically start recording.
- When you turn off the product or unplug the charging cable from the power supplier, the camera will stop recording and turn off.
- Long press the button to turn the camera on or off.
- Short press the button to enter the rest screen/wake-up state.
Loop Recording
- Insert the Micro SD card into the card slot of the camera. Once the camera detects the power, it will start automatic loop recording.
- The time range of each video file is 1 /2/3 minutes.
- When the space of Micro SD Card is insufficient, the loop recording will automatically overwrite the oldest files (one after another).
- Save the circular record file to the SD card: \Novatek\MOVIE folder.
Emergency Recording
- When a collision activates the G Sensor, emergency recording begins automatically; Current video files are automatically locked and saved in the SOS folder of the SD card to avoid being overwritten by looped recordings.
- Emergency recording time is 1 minute.
G-Sensor Function
- If the G-Sensor senses a vibration while the vehicle and recorder are in a flame-out state, it triggers automatic startup and recording, locking and encrypting the current file, and automatically shutting down after saving the file.
- The file under the G-Sensor event will be saved and automatically locked, and will not be deleted.
- G-Sensor has 4 levels, low, medium, high, and off, which can be adjusted according to your own needs.
Shortcut keys in Recording Mode
- During recording, press the DOWN key to turn off the audio (there is no sound in the recorded video), and press the UP key to capture the current picture.
- Press and hold the DOWN key to turn on/off the Wi-Fi
Photographing Mode
Long press the menu key once in the recording mode to enter the photographing
mode.

Photographing Mode
- After the machine is turned on, in the recording mode, long press the menu button once to enter the photographing mode.
- After the machine is turned on, in the recording mode, short press the OK key to take a picture.
In the photographing mode, short press the menu key to enter the setting menu
- Capture Mode: set the shooting/2 second timing/5 second timing/1 a-second timing.
- Resolution: Set image size (12M/10M/8M/5M/3M)
- Exposure: set the exposure value (+2– 2)
- Date Stamp: Set photo watermark (off/date/time)
Playback Mode
Long press the menu key once in the photographing mode to enter the playback mode

Playback Mode
After the machine is turned on, long-press the menu key once to enter the playback mode in the photographing mode.
In playback mode, press the menu key to enter the setting menu:
- Delete. You can delete the current file and delete all the files.
- Protection.The video file can be locked/unlocked. After locking, the video file cannot be deleted and has a lock icon. The files can be all locked and unlocked.
- Slide Show. The slide show can be turned on and can switch according to the time setting.
- View the playback file. You can view the video file normally and fast forward/rewind the video playback.
BASIC SETTING OF THE DASH CAM

- Set the Date Format Choosing the date format you like
- Adjusting Speed Unit Setting the speed unit, KMH/MPH.

APP & WIFI OPERATIONS
Download the App
Go to the App store/Google Play on your smartphone and download the app KaKa
or scan the QR code below to download.
Opening & Connecting Wi-Fi
The WIFI function enables you to pair the DASH CAM with your smartphone and
access the video immediately. You can view and download videos and pictures.
The KaKa app is free and allows you to connect WIFI to your smartphone.
Turn On/ TUrn Off Dash Cam WI-Fl
Turn On Dash Cam Wi-Fi
- Long press the Down button to open the WiFi signal. Until the The WIFI page appears.
- Goto menu > WIFI setting> select on .
TUrn Off Dash cam Wi-Fi
- Long press the Down button to open the WIFI signal. Until the The WIFI page disappears.
- Goto menu> WIFI setting > select Off.
Connecting Dash Cam Wi-Fi to Your Phone APP
- In your phone’s settings, connect to the WiFi: CarDV_WIFle499
- Enter the passcode: 12345678 and join in the network.
- Open the Kaka app and tap the camera icon below.
- Select “WiFi Connect Device”
- Connection succeeded. Phone App and camera are synchronized.
QA in APP &Wi-Fi Operations
How can I view the currently downloaded videos and pictures on the app?
- Open the APP photo album.
- Click the picture to display, the picture currently downloaded from the recorder.
- Click Video to display, the video currently downloaded from the recorder.
How can I read the device recording file on the app and choose to download or delete it?
- Click the album icon in the lower right corner.
- Select photos/videos.
- Click the top right corner to choose.
- Select the corresponding file you want.
- Click the download icon in the lower left corner to download to the local file.
- Click the icon in the lower right corner to delete the file.
How to view the app version and clear the recording data?
- Open the app and click the lower right corner.
- The App version shows above.
- Clear Cache and confirm.
How to view or delete the local file?
- Open the app and click the lower left corner.
- Click the file to look or choose the file to delete .
PLAY ON THE COMPUTER
How to output data on the computer?
- Please use a card reader(NOT Included) to output the data on the computer.
- Dashcam does not support output data by connecting to the computer via a USB cable.
How to view a GPS track map?

The features of GPS Player
- To see the exact GPS route with the video on google maps

TROUBLESHOOTING
The camera has a litter hot
- When the camera runs for a while, This is a common phenomenon.
- The operating temperature is designed between -20°C-70°C.
The Micro SD card can’t be read
Please use an B-12BGB Micro SD card and format the SD card when starting use.
The camera locks many videos automatically
Please change the G-Sensor setting to a lower setting. This setting depends on
how much vibration your car is creating based on road conditions.
GPS no signal
It may be difficult to receive GPS signals in tunnels, buildings, or valleys.
Please wait for a while to double-check. If it still doesn’t work. Please
contact us.
The camera does not turn on.
The camera needs to be powered by an external power, Please connect it to the
car charger. If it still does not work, please change to another car charger
to have a try. If still can’t solve the problem, please contact us.
When I press the MENU nothing happens
This is normal during recording. Stop the recording before pressing the MENU
button.
