SAFETY WARNINGS
Carefully read all important safety instructions in the owner’s manual that come with your machine before operating. If you do not have a manual, contact the manufacturer and obtain one before using this blade. Always handle blade with gloves. Always wear eye, dust and hearing protection. Avoid wearing loose clothing that may catch in a rotating blade. ALWAYS USE PROTECTION AND SAFETY DEVICES OF THE SAW MACHINE WHEN OPERATING. Carefully check blade prior to use. Do not use blade if damage or defect is suspected (such as broken or missing teeth, etc.). Do not exceed maximum RPM recommended for the blade. Do not use this blade on metals, for masonry cutting or other materials not intended for use with this product. Be sure to mount blade securely and in the correct rotation direction as indicated on the blade. Inspect the work area: remove stones, rocks, pieces of metal and other solid objects which could be thrown by the cutting attachment up to 15m (50 feet) causing damage to objects or injury to those in proximity. Circular saw blades are suitable for thinning brush and cutting small trees up to a diameter of 5 cm (2 in). Do not attempt to cut trees with larger diameters, since the blade may catch or jerk the clearing saw forward. This may cause damage to the blade or loss of control of the power tool and result in serious injury. Use a chainsaw for such work. WARNING The operator of the machine shall ensure, while working, that no persons or animals come closer than 15 meters (50 feet). To reduce the risk of blade/teeth breakage, avoid all contact with terrain, rocks or stones, masonry work, metal parts, etc. Sharpen blades in a timely manner as specified – dull teeth may cause the blade to crack or shatter. When a clearing saw with a circular saw blade is used to cut down small trees, it’s recommended that the standard deflector be removed and replaced by the special limit stop deflector. This limit stop helps to keep the unit positioned against the tree during the cutting process. Inexperienced users should place the left side of the stop against the tree trunk before beginning to cut (see illustration). This will keep the clearing saw against the tree during the cutting operation and will reduce the risk of loss of control and possible kick-out. Before starting the cut, accelerate the engine up to full throttle. Perform cut with uniform pressure. It’s recommended that the circular saw blade be applied to the right of the tree, as shown in the illustration. WARNING When the blade comes in contact with a solid object such as a trunk, branch, stump, stone or the like, there is a greater risk of kick-out. In this case, the machine will propel backwards and in the opposite direction of blade rotation. The highest risk of kick-out occurs when the darker shaded area indicated on the blade (see illustration) is used to carry out the cut. To reduce the risk of the kick-out and resulting injury, do not use this area of the circular saw blade for cutting trees or shrubs. Special techniques using the lighter shaded areas of the blade to cut shrub and trees should only be used by experienced operators with specialized training in the use and control of the clearing saw. When felling small trees, the distance that the operator must maintain with respect to other coworkers should be equivalent to two times the height of the tree. WARRANTY CMT saw blades are designed and manufactured to uncompromising quality standards of performance and durability. CMT guarantees each saw blade to be free from defects with the exception of damage due to abuse, misuse or alteration of the original saw bladewhich may include damage caused by normal wear and tear, dropping the blade, improper sharpening, etc. If you suspect a manufacturer’s defect, or if for any reason, you are not stifled with the quality or performance of your CMT saw blade, and the blade was used for its recommended application, return the blade to your CMT distributor for replacement. CMT will not be liable for special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use this tool. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not be applicable to all purchasers.
