Installation
Step 1 – Choose a good location for installation:
Install the Boat Command VMS device so that the internal GPS and Cellular antennas are not obstructed by any large metallic objects. If installed on a steel or aluminum vessel, install the device near a window with a view of the sky. Device should be located not closer than six inches from other power supplies or antennae to avoid interference. The device should be installed where the LED Status Indicators on the front cover can be seen.
Step 2 – Connect to power:
Connect the Red Wire to the vessel battery (12v or 24v DC) or an un-switched power source on the vessel.
Connect the Black Wire to the negative side of the battery or the vessel ground.

Step 3 – Check system status via LED indicators:
When the amber LED is solid, your device is getting a good cellular signal. If blinking, your device is not connected to the cellular network, but will continue to log valid data, which will be transmitted once a cellular connection is acquired.
When the green LED is solid, your device is getting a good GPS signal. If blinking continues, you should relocate your device to a location that gets a better view of the sky that is not impeded by steel, aluminum, or some other metal obstruction.

Notes :
Boat Command VMS Tracker is IP66 rated and is recommended for marine
environments. For installations where excessive water contact could occur, we
recommend adding silicone to the device seal for added protection. Do not
cover the LED status indicators.
Boat Command VMS is equipped with an internal back-up battery that will provide GPS reporting for up to 30 days when your main power source is not available.
