Product Information

Motorized Core Holder XL

  • The Motorized Core Holder XL is a device used to unwind labels on rolls with a fixed 3 internal diameter. It has a maximum external roll diameter of up to 250 mm (10) and a maximum label width of up to 240 mm (9.45). The device is powered by an external power supply of 100/240VAC – 2.5A at 24V, which allows an electronic circuit to provide, through the tension arm, the speed and sense of rotation auto adjustment.
  • The device comes with an XL unwinder that is used to unwind the labels on the roll. It has a printer plate that needs to be attached to the unwinder. The printer plate has knobs that need to be tightened when both triangles are aligned. The printer needs to be placed carefully over the plate and matched with the plate’s holes. The core holder needs to be installed using a screwdriver, and then the roll of media needs to be loaded onto the core holder.
The outer disk needs to be slid onto the core holder, kept close to the media edge, and then tightened with the knob. The core holder needs to be set onto the core holder supports, ensuring that the color of the handle matches the color of the holder.

Product Usage Instructions

Motorized Core Holder XL

  1. Install the printer plate to the unwinder, ensuring that both triangles are aligned.

  2. Place the printer over the plate and match the printer’s feet into the plate’s holes.

  3. To load the core holder, first, install the outer disc on the core holder using a screwdriver.

  4. Load the roll of media onto the core holder.

  5. Slide in the outer disk onto the core holder and keep it close to the media edge. Tighten the knob.

  6. Set the core holder onto the core holder supports, ensuring that the color of the handle matches the color of the holder. Make sure the screws are face down.

  7. Pull the input media under the tension arm and feed it into the printer.

  8. Use the ON-OFF button to turn the on or off the unit.

  9. Use the INCREASE SPEED button to increase the rotation speed
and the DECREASE SPEED button to decrease the rotation speed.

  10. To select the rewinding mode, use the LABEL FACE-OUT button.
Keep pushing the FACE OUT button, and push and release the ON-OFF button while the green led turns on and off. The unit is now ready to operate in face-out mode.

  11. To select the unwinding mode, use the LABEL FACE-IN button.
Keep pushing the FACE IN button, and push and release the ON-OFF button while the yellow led turns on and off. The unit is now ready to operate in face-in mode.

  12. When the printer forwards the media for printing, the tension arm goes up, and the device unwinds the media. The yellow or green LED turns on depending on the selected rewinding mode (face-in or face-out).

  13. When the tension arm is in the middle position, both yellow and green LEDs turn on, indicating that the device is idle.

  14. When the printer backward the media, the tension arm goes down, and the device rewinds it. The yellow or green LED turns on depending on the selected unwinding mode (face-in or face-out).

  15. If the unit is operating but there is no media loaded or it runs out, the tension arm reaches the lowest position, and after a few seconds, the unit will stop by itself. Both LEDs blink, and it beeps.

  • Please keep the original packaging in case you need to return the unit.
  • If we receive the system in non-original packaging, the warranty may be void.
  • The XL unwinder is used to unwind the labels on a roll having a fixed 3″ internal diameter. The maximum external roll diameter allowed is up to 250 mm (10″) while the maximum label width is up to 240 mm (9.45″).
  • An external power supply 100/240VAC – 2.5A at 24V allows an electronic circuit to provide, through the tension arm. the speed and sense of rotation auto adjustments.
